A common issue with many.
My Dad died recently from unditected heart disease. We knew about his hypertension though. My brother 35 has high blood pressure and myself at 33, has 148/97 BP after a 24/hr study. I've had the echo's and the renels and am having more bloods and 24hr urine tests next week.
Is this just hereditary? Looks like I'll end up on meds pretty soon, but would prefer alternatives. My Dad and my bro were/are both consultant anaethetists, so have given me advice, but alternative thoughts is always appreciated such as Hawthorn berry and milk thistle. Oh my Cholestrol is 6.7. I'm a pretty fit ex sportsman who enjoys a beer. A bit over weight as dad died in the gym so have avoided it for 3 months, but good metabolism.
Thanks for advice in advance.

Why would you take meds?
Why do you care about your cholesterol?
There are many ways to reduce HBP without taking meds.

I think I said I don't want to take meds.
You've mentioned many ways to reduce HBP, care to elaborate? Apart from living the monks life! I'm a hedonist by nature. Well....was when I was a 'teen'.

i fixed my old mans high blood pressure after he stopped his meds with the water cure from 180/100 to 130/80 not bad for a 73 yr old overweight.Rehydrate yourself PROPERLY with water and unrefined sea salts works every time easy as pie,get yourself a basic bp tester as well,if your a stressed that might cause hibp, also cut out out diuretics such as caffienne etc

It's worth looking at the Blood Type Diet but you would have to be fairly strict with yourself. ;)
Dehydration can be attributed to almost every illness.
What types of fats do you consume?
The heart and stroke foundation continues to push poison on the masses, margerine being one of the worst.

Blood Pressure is a very subjective issue. How over weight are you, and how many beers are you drinking per day/week? what about non gym exercise, how much walking, swimming do you do? What about diet, give an example of the sort of foods you eat etc. (if you want to do this on a one to one please send a private mail).
