I have been listening to his music lately and thought I could share with you a thread dedicated to him, even if it's just for 10 mins
First of all, Jimi was a man about keeping his morals and values at heart. Some of his music was about Black Opression in the USA (which in itself brings up questions of humanity),
he was one to stick to what he believed in.
He despised money, social manipulation and the media.
The media, on a whole, forces their opinions on millions of readers/viewers daily.
Jimi, who supported and freely advertised free love, individuality and self wisdom,
was conveyed as being a rebel or a social outcast by the media.
They blamed him for the youths becoming druggies and deliquents.
When all he wanted was for people to express themselves without becoming like 'everyone else'
"I want my music to speak to the soul of the person, see if I can awaken some kind of thing up in their minds"
"There are a lot of sleeping people"
One of the reasons there are people having problems with certain aspects of their life is the rest of society does not accept them.
The only ones who openly enjoy themselves are the ones who do not give a flying Foxtrot about what others think.
And if you observe, despite what others think or say, Jimi was alway true to what he believed in.
But, what happened to old Jimi?
What happened to John Lennon?
What became of Martin Luther King?
Ghandi?
John F Kennedy?
Bob Marley?
All of whom were speakers of peace and equality, despite what others wanted ( a world of "normality, hate and distrust)
So here are a few videos of one of the greatest men who ever lived
"Being unorthadox is beautiful"
Interview with Jimi Hendrix on Star-Spangled Banner - YouTube
