View Full Version : Reader's response to Britney "too fat" jibe

Dear All,
Below is an email that I sent to the webmaster/administrator of the David Icke website earlier today:
Hi there,
I don't think I have ever objected to anything that I have seen on this website before. However, I was somewhat concerned to see a tongue-in-cheek US poll picture on your "Latest Headlines" page posted on 7 September 2007 which stated that "97% think Britney Spears is too fat now.
Although I realise this picture was printed as a "joke", I still find it somewhat distasteful. This is partly because of the fact that it replicates messages disseminated by trashy mainstream media publications - i.e. scrutinising celebrities' (especially female celebrities) bodies.
Further, whilst Ms Spears may not have the same (healthy?) exercise and diet regime as she once had, there is the fact that, regardless of the junk food that she may be eating these days, she has since borne a child and grown a little older.
Finally, there is the fact that that numerous sources, including this website, have highlighted speculations that Ms Spears may be a victim of trauma based mind-control. I refer to your headline of 24th April 2007, archived here http://www.davidicke.com/content/view/6609/48/ If it is the case that Ms Spears has been, and is being, controlled and abused at the behest of the powers-that-be in this way, it seems doubly insensitive to criticise her appearance in such a manner.
As a result, I must ask you to reconsider whether you continue publish this image on your website.
With love,
Aletheia

Hi aletheia, did you complain to all the other media people who published that pic?
I find your thread very offensive. A total disgrace to even sugest such a thing. However offensive I find your post I don't think it should be removed from this forum.
Get a life and don't look at the article again. You won't find politically correct people on here.
Some people just like to test how weak the mods are by requesting stupid things under the guise of being god knows what.
If you find that offensive go find decembers threads and try to close them down:D
Best of luck in your witch hunt;)
Oh yeah, Spears is a Bush supporter and backs all his decisions on war. You gonna complain to her about supporting a child killer?

Dondaz,
I'm not a politically correct person. I guess I just feel that making fun of someone for being fat (especially if they may be a victim of Satanic abuse and/or mind control) is not a very sensitive thing to do, and goes against a lot of what David Icke says. i.e. compassion and understanding for others.
I've no idea which other media outlets may have published the picture. However, the fact is that those media outlets are not as enlightened as this website and presumably have not expressed any concern about the cult of the "perfect body" and the way that celebrities are built up by the media and then knocked down by them. David Icke, on the other hand, HAS expressed concern about this. Therefore I felt it was right to point out this lapse.
Incidentally, I don't feel that a person's political views are a justification for poking fun at their weight. Especially if they are a victim of mindcontrol. For all we know, Britney Spears may have been programmed to make pro-Republican statements.
Finally, this is not a witch hunt. I'm just expressing my feelings about the above. I don't get "offended" by such things . . . and certainly not by forum posts.

Dear aletheia,
I am not here speaking to you as a representative of the DIF, but speaking my own mind, as a caring, well-meaning poster.
I have seen the image you speak of. A fake-national poll saying that 97% of Americans think Brittney Spears is too fat. I would like to say that I fully understand your concern, and that you are free to speak you mind however you please.
But, since I am a fellow poster, I too may speak my mind, and I'd like you to consider the following.
-Not all the facts presented on the poll were true. It was more a representation of what is going on in the USA. As you could see, Bush was sitting behind a switch board ready to push a button to nuke Iran. What you must understand though, is that it was not meant to attack Ms. Spears, but rather it was an artistic attack on the current events of the US culture.
As you could see, Americans were caring more about her weight, than about other things. Something that, as you feel, certainly is irrelevant.
But I will say it again. Please try to understand, the illustration was not meant to attack Ms. Spears, just the modern culture of the US.

And she's certainly not too fat, nothing wrong with a woman filling out a bit: its rather the reverse, that she used to be too thin
Regardless, its her state of conciousness that has always made Spears ugly from my POV

I don’t think it was poking fun at her weight but more like the stupidity of the general public. However I don’t know how that ties with going to war with Iran (maybe it just wasn’t funny)…It would be the webmaster you should direct your concern to as David probably didn’t post it up there.
I do find it odd that he’s still asking for donations for his legal fund when the last I have heard was that it was over. I have not heard what has become of this case, how his legal fund has been doing and where it has been spent. If he’s going to do something like that he really should keep people informed and that way it would probably raise a lot more money. I am not a subscriber by the way (I stopped when he went through his second Puru) so he might be keeping everyone informed through his monthly emails.
What has become of his legal issues?

I'm a girl. And the only reason I posted this thread in "General" was cause it didn't seem to fit in the other forums.
Guess my philosophy is to treat others with compassion, because that's how we would all want to be treated ourselves. And it doesn't matter if that person makes badly-informed pro-Republican statements or cuts off all their hair with clippers; they're still deserving of our compassion, as is everyone else.
And incidentally, I've never posted any kind of criticism of this website before; I'm a David Icke fan and agree with a great deal of what he says and what he stands for. But there was something about the casual nature of that "too fat" line that made me feel that it was a bit distasteful and that I had to say something. I would expect it of the trashy mainstream media, but I wouldn't expect it of David Icke's site. If the line was simply a comment about the interests of the general American public, then mea culpa, Webmaster.

Alas! The David Icke forum is comprised of the genral public too. Beware expectations, they are buggers
The best we could hope for is for the Icke forum to have a large proportion of members interested in bettering themselves
And let us beware expectations of how that is to be acheived too

this exactly how i viewed the picture, though i honestly did not see it on this website, i saw it on rense.com
i find it repulsive how the media attacks ms. spears for her weight. i mean, she is not fat and even if she was aren't there more important issues? i do think that as was pointed out the picture was meant to show the baseness of america today, and not be another attack of the probably mind controlled or at least really messed up pop star.

i think that what you are really upset with is what bothers me greatly about our culture as well. women are told they must be skinny to be sexy. in my estimation this is related to the nwo's promotion of pedophilia. women are told to look less and less like women. looking like a little girl is what is hot. britney was a great example of this, getting famous for her sexy schoolgirl look.
anyone else remember the 1999 rolling stones photographs where britney was a pedophile's dream???
