View Full Version : Activating privileges for a new account?

Not really sure that this is the right place but I can't see any sub-forum which seems more appropriate - my apologies regardless ;).
Anyway the main reason I signed up was to attempt to contact one of the users here but I've noticed that I'm unable to view profiles after having signed up (including my own!). So far as I can tell I can't send private messages to someone through any other interface (though I may have missed it).
So yeah just wondering whether I perhaps need to have posted a few times (to certify that I'm not a spam account for instance?) or if there's any other 'initiation' one has to go through (ahaha forgive me, I couldn't resist) to allow the functionality I'm after?

I think that either you have been waiting for your account to be activated, which it has been by now, and thus allowing you to post...
Or...
You may have to wait until you become a Junior Member, by having a post count of more than 3 to 5 posts, I think. So... I think your issue will soon be resolved either way.

Fingers crossed that 10 is the magic number. I saw someone with 19 posts was marked as a Junior Member so that'll be my upper limit. Again sorry for being a pain in the ass :\.

Sadly I'm still not a Junior Member (nor have the access privileges). Does it revolve around threads started rather than posts? Or some other factor?
Down here in Aus the weather's pretty hot at the moment. Today's it quite humid, as it was raining an hour or two ago but the heat remained. I hate summer.
