I have a really large - project writing a series of comic book stories.

I have been writing this for more than ten years now! :D

What is the central premise:
Contact between alien species and ordinary humans who are equipped with alien technology to help the people of Earth with the coming 'transition' bypassing Earth's governments.

There are 3 chapters of 12 episodes each. Each episode roughly 15 sides of A4.

(Apologies if for now I am keeping the name under wraps!)

Is it story based or character based?
Honestly? I am not sure. I have generally answered that it is both, and normally been criticised for that, people believing that if it is neither one nor the other strongly it will lack a focus and direction and appear confused.

i think that remains to be seen, I think I would need a second opinion on that really. As it stands I am happy with the genaral story strcture; it is a difficult and complex story that I am trying to tell in a specific way.

The 12 episodes are each a highlight chosen to demonstrate the first chapter of the story and those who took part in it. Each chapter we will follow the adventures of different people each time, but who are all following the same motivations in the same overall group. In that way, although each story develops a character, there are in all around 150 main characters.

Again I have been criticised for this as well! Too many central characters. Well again, I beleive this remains to be seen. The stage initially consits of 6 billion, and more, as it takes in other star systems. So there are around 150 who 'participate in this adventure.'

What is the style?
The style is life-like realistic. The people have to look like human people, and the aliens and technology needs to look real.

However, I am very open to individual styles of artists. There is no prescribed 'style' - just not anything cartoony/manga etc... realistic

I am ideally looking for a different artist to illustrate a different episode each. As each episode will contain mainly new characters, each artist is not dictated to by any previous episodes.

This means it gives the artist almost complete artistic freedom to draw the episode in their own personal style...

I find this really exciting! And again - I have been criticised as making things too difficult on myslef and also too disjointed for the reader. However iIdisagree again. I believe each episode will have it's own unique flavour depending on who has drawn it;

I really need artists who can take my scripts, tell the exact story I want telling, yet feel free to add their own expression, and even let rip for a page or two, give me some full on! :D

(And also once this is off the ground there are other seperate projects to be drawn, some of which are more cartoony and comedic! :D)

What am I looking for?
I'm looking for artists to collaborate with me to draw each episode form my 'rough' (very, very rough lol!) storyboards and scripts.

I am also looking for people to collaborate with me on concepts and conceptual art, escpecially around futuristic and ET technology, nature of alien star systems and ecology etc.

What's the process and the format?
Well... at the present stage in Chapter 1, of the 12 episodes,
- 4 are fully scripted and stroyboarded and ready to be drawn.
- 4 are mainly storyboarded and about 80% finished; yet to be scripted
- 4 are written in outline with partial storyboards.

The format will be A4, b&W at first. This particular project is only one of many. At first I intend to web-publish these, and then as I work on other seperate projects would like to bring them all together and release them in print in collections with other stories as a serial.

First steps, small steps, next steps...

Firstly, some of you awesome people will jump at the chance to join me on this wonderous and exciting project!! Pwwwwwweeeeaaaasssseeeeee!!!!!

First step is to get the first episode drawn properly... Web release it and try to gather some feed back, then get 2, 3 and 4 illustrating in the pipeline.

Terms and conditions blah blah
This is not a paying gig I'm afraidy waidy. It's for the love of it! Further down the line if I get to print it how I want it then there may be a small mark up beyond the printing costs, which would be divided out equally among whoever contributed per each episode.

Credits will always be given fully for writing, illustrating, (and concepts if nec.)

Conceptuals are a bit harder, but anyone contributing positivly will receive full credit.

Please PM me or reply if interested!
Guys, I really really need your help! This story is aching to get drawn! It is huge, it is massive, it is...!!!

I am very jealous of this creation and very protective, which is why I am quite cagey about what it is actually about. If an artist does get in touch with me and we get the ball rolling I will of course show all the scripts, storyboards, and discuss and develop ideas; I just don't want to publish any details out in the open on a public forum really!

*** PS ***
I have been looking throug the artwork thread and there is some really talented folk around here - I might start PMing some of you and try to pressgang you to join my cause!

Peace to you all,
WH
