Where I stay in the UK, this seems to be the stable diet. Shops
are queued up with many dozens eating as much as they can,
and this is at lunchtime.
Not any alternative places to eat for reasonable prices. Lunch,
dinner and after pub food, it's Chips "n" Cheese, curry sauce optional,
well in some places...
I'm not a fan of the stuff myself, prefer to have a pub lunch
and avoid the chips.

Wow looks yummy, but I imagine I'd feel like crap after it. It's comfort food, it's tasty and easy to eat, but the after effects are bad.
Nutrition wise you wouldn't get much from it at all, it does a lot more harm than good.

Potato carbs + fried in crappy oil = lots of how can i put it, er fat storage.
The salt will help too.
Good for if you are about to trek across the sahara. One for you, a few for the camel to top up its hump.
Yeah potatoes are relatively cheap though, i see peeps here going at it too, hamburgers are getting pricey.
But pasta is cheap too, add some decent stir thru sauce and its fast easy and better for you if a carb hit is what the craving is.
But one will definately lose weight if they cut back carbs (especially potatoes) and eat more lean red and white meat, fish and vegetables.
If you put that photo on a billboard in Hollywood...

Everyone would run away screaming...attack of the killer carbs.

Also in the Solanaceae familily are tomatoes, eggplant and peppers.
None of these, including the potato, have the Deadly Nightshade poison in them.
By your argument, we should be able to get high on backyard poppies!
The family has nothing to do with it. If my brother murdered someone would it make me a killer?

Seriously, apprantly there were people on the shroomery doing it. See you need loads and can only scrape them once a day. I was going to try it this summer but never got round to it. Im pretty sure theres something to the bannana skins and also you can smoke peanut skins, tried that one lol
OMG Poutine! Best stuff ever. Where I live in Canada, you get poutine everywhere. Fries, cheese and beef gravy. Best stuff ever, mmm now I want some. I don't have it often, it is a guilty pleasure. There is nothing wrong with the occasional guilty pleasure! Eating it every day, mind you, is a heart attack in a styrofoam dish.
Potatoes aren't bad for you, by the way. Baked potatoes with a bit of butter and a dollop of plain yogurt is a great side dish. Top with chives and sea salt... mmmm.
Mashed potatoes too can be done relatively healthy. All depends what you put in it, However a huge amount of butter makes it sooooooooooooooo frickin good.
Great, now I am hungry! thanks :P

Bulltwister. Managed to find where that Kebab is sold
http://www.supersizedmeals.com/food/article.php/20060630015057755
The biggest seller, other than chips "n" cheese where I stay
is --- The Hoagie
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_VYi08gxSWj0/Soiq9FBCsiI/AAAAAAAACTA/4K1HlEv_sew/s400/P1060561.JPG
The much beloved "Hoagie"
Take one generous dolop of chapati dough, flatten it t
o the size of a 16" pizza.
Place it on the cover of a tandoor and apply a blowtorch
to the topside. once it inflates then flip it over and torch
the other.
Moving on take your now delectibly prepared chapati and
cover with chips.
Smother this in cheese.
Smother the cheese in your choice of Donner Meat,
Spicy chicken, Mexican Chicken, or opt for the
"Chromas Colonic Depthcharge" and get all of the above.
Smother that in kebab sauce and top with "garnish" otherwise
known as the healthy cabage, onion and lettuce salad stuff.
Now for the hard part, ROLL that badboy into a huge
cigarlike object (fine cuban cigars are possibly less fatal) then dig in.
Ensure great care to get as much of it on yourself as is humanly possible without wasting too much (in other words screw the salad, its ok to be "on you" but avoid getting the healthy option "in you."
Once devoured consult your nearest mortician.......

Bit off topic but try this. The best Omelette I invented.
A large frying pan is best (depends on how much food you put in the mix) Beat 2 0r 3 eggs into bowl.
Chop Mushrooms
Chicken
Pepper - mix them in with the eggs in bowl.
Throw in frying pan (duh of course)
When it's time to turn the omelette flip it like a pancake (this is the tricky bit careful it don't slither out the pan etc.) or be careful and turn it with something. I get off on flipping it myself :D
Then chuck on loads of cheese grated or finely sliced
When the cheese starts to melt a bit then sprinkle chilli powder or black pepper (or both) Squash and spread the cheese around so it mixes the chili etc evenly - and finally a bit of sea salt.
Ham or a bit of bacon also goes well. if you want a change or like a mix of meat bit like a mad pizza.

I didn't eat cheese for a few years and was vegan and then veggie on and off most of my life.
I now eat anything at all. But am paranoid even though I now eat a fair bit of cheese.
It's awful when you know older people who have to watch their cholestrol levels etc and have a long list of foods to avoid.
It's not as simple as it sounds being a veggie even worse for a vegan to get the right foods/nutrition - so I joined the I'll eat anything crew, and maybe will suffer the consequences later on in life
(but if I stayed veggie then that may also lead to health problems)
I've read both sides of the argument and am still unsure who is right.

Try it. Beats cheese and chips.

Don't worry about it. If you want it, eat it for crying out loud. Denying what you want is worse for you than eating "fat." Gasp. Did I just say F-A-T? Ruuuuuuuuuuun!!!!!!!!
When it's your time to go, you're out of here. No amount of doctors or food intake or exercise will stop you from leaving. Enjoy the time here and prepare for better experiences when you leave!

Disclaimer: Don't eat this ;)
i wouldn't even eat that if my life depended on it.
most of the burger/samich pics here are disgusting... or maybe it's just me.
Add some raw milk cheese and you have a very healthy meal.
now you're talking.
i've noticed many people hate the stuff (and i can't understand why), but i can stuff myself with greek feta cheese alone.

mmmm mmm nom nom nom.
i'm a sucker for cheese, but raw milk cheese is my absolute fav, especially goat cheese.
The Japanese are SO WEIRD! Cheetos covered in strawberry yogurt?
i've seen a whole lot of gross food combos. the worst i've encountered is a guy spreading black current jam over his plate of hot, smoking chilli kebabs.
*gag*

Sorry but thats terrible advice, you absolutely can live a longer and more enjoyable life if you abstain from eating stuff that isn't good for you. Look at how many people are overweight and die from things like heart disease and cancer. Most of that could be completely avoided if they controlled their cravings for bad food and ate more healthy food instead. As far as I'm concerned food addiction is worse than drug addiction, it causes way more suffering and takes a lot more lives, and the worst thing is most people don't even realize they have a problem.
And for the record healthy food can taste every bit as good as the crap you guys are talking about.

An occasional unhealthy indulgence is fine but making a frequent habit of it is not smart. It's quite possible to indulge yourself on healthy food too, I have many books full of nutritious recipes that would blow peoples taste buds away.
