View Full Version : Workers suffer pay cut for using toilets !
This is just outrageous clocking off and on, paying for the privalege to use the toilet during the working hours within the workplace.
Workers' outrage at firm's loo policy
Bosses at Dunbia meat firm have caused a stink after docking their employees' wages for the time they spend in the loo. Workers at the Sawley-based company are outraged about the company's toilet break policy.
http://www.clitheroeadvertiser.co.uk/clitheroenews/Workers39-outrage-at-firm39s-loo.5815104.jp
Trade union Unite, which represents workers at Dunbia, says workers are being forced to take unpaid toilet breaks during work time. This means workers are having to clock off to go to the toilet and then clock on again – and effectively suffer a pay cut for using the toilet.
100 union members at the site, to defend a basic human right, to use the toilet, which should be a right on paid work time."Wont be long untill the toilet policing and flatulence cards are introduced it seems they want full knowledge of average bowel movements so they can tax it.

Do we now have to argue that using the toilet should be a basic human right think about it children are trained not to use the toilet during there classes in school people are taught from a young age that the authority figures be it a teacher or employer hold the keys to your toilet habits and bowel control so what if you cannot afford the take toilet break good question how about a annual payments or credit scheme ...

I worked at a call center that allowed you five minutes of bathroom time in an 8 hour shift. You were expected to go at your breaks. I don't know about you, but I can't time my pees. My body won't listen.

I think that things like a violation of health and safety and basic human rights, the longer you hold your piss or shit in the more likely it would be that you ruin your kidneys, get a urinary track infection and piss can go into your blood stream and kill you. These draconian laws grow by the day.

Some firms only pay by the quarter of an hour, so a five mins break could end up costing about £1.50 or more.
We live in a world gone totaly crazy.

They might as well ban drinking coffee, as coffee make people need to pee more often.

This made me think of something my son came home from school and told me... He came home the other week and he said "something really awful happened in school today Mum" He proceded to tell me how a girl in his class asked the teacher if she could go to the loo and the teacher said no and after 10 mins of asking and saying she really really needed the toilet, the teacher told her that she could not go. Anyway it turns out she wasn't lying and she ended up peeing her pants and running out of class.
I was quite disgusted that a 12 year old just in the first year of high school could be treated like this and had to go through this embarrassing ordeal
Kids can be so cruel and to be known throughout the rest of her years at high school as the girl who pissed her pants is awful and damaging!
If I was her parents I would of hauled that teacher and the school through the coals and put a massive complaint in.
Its nothing far short of torture ... bastid :(

A lot of schools have this 'policy' (inverted because I'm not sure that you would find it written down anywhere). It's done to stop kids from corridor surfing; I don't agree with it and best practice seems to be that if the pupil still needs to go 10 min's later, then let them go. Don't be too harsh on the teacher, s/he could find themselves being disciplined for not following the 'unwritten' school policy. I wish the mother of said child would go to the papers about this, because it's a problem that needs addressing. I feel for the child - bloody humiliating.

I was a trainee manager a long time ago in a factory, I am not surprised by this petty mentality. I decided management was not for me - I'm not a sociopath.
YOU CAN BE SURE THAT THE MANAGERS WILL NOT BE CLOCKING OFF WHEN THEY GO TO THE TOILET!

Managers have a fixed wage payment so it will not effect them .. ;)
Unless however those above them wish to impose a toilet tax on there wage .. :) :(
