View Full Version : The Love Revolution
Indeed I believe we are all a part of some sort of wave which we simply cannot ignore. Those reading this are most likely a part of it and it would be safe to say that we are all intuitively following the same path by opening our minds, but more importantly, by opening our hearts. By letting our love flow through the very fabric of existence we are helping the creation of a new paradigm and ultimately heading towards a better path for mankind.
As we can use this forums to openly share ideas, I would say that one of the most powerful binding phenemenons for the spreading of any expression of love is music. Likewise, this would mean I'm implying that one of the most potent weapons in the hands of this 'love revolution' would be the propogation of love through music.
The wave is here and it can take us further than mankind has fathomed. All we need to do is let our natural light shine, let the wave of higher consciousness pass through us, and let the love take us to a higher place.
P.S. Regardless of how subjective any of these ideas can be, they are mine and I wish to share them so they can be face to face with the doors of perspective.

Beautifully expressed my friend:) And please don’t apologise for your sense of them. Its nice to read someone’s feelings who will just dare to put them out there. An act of real defiance in a world which increasingly disparages genuine celebrations of feeling. Love your avatar also, very visually congruent with what your saying.
One of my great passions is exactly what you describe. The power of music to move us in ways we not otherwise experience. We communicate so much through its resonance don’t we? :)
Thank you :D
Yes indeed the resonance of music is one which we cannot help but be absorbed into a world more real and more meaningful. If we let the love of music flow through us we are opening the doors to the real feelings of humankind; much more real and complicated than over-simplified feelings like happiness and sadness. Regardless, these feelings all communicate love at the root of them, and for those who do not accept this love, well they are usually in a certain state of fear.
In any respect, I feel as though I have been touching upon a great relationship between love, music and God (whatever your idea of God is, mine being rather ontological and pantheist). Music is indeed an expression of love, and though the expression varies from place to place, from person to person and throughout time, the heart of it is the same. The unifying power of music can make our love widespread and help bring us back to the Source - if it brings us together, then it is bringing us back to the one light which all existence derives from.

Welcome to the site, Dras. Great post, well expressed. As a musician, I relate. ;)

Euterpe, the so-called "Giver of Pleasure", was the Muse of Music.
At classical times, Euterpe became also associated with Lyric Poetry and sometimes Sports. Euterpe was mainly depicted holding a flute.
When the Greek river Strymon once lied with Euterpe, Euterpe brought to life a son with the name Rhesus. Rhesus was a hero of Homer' s Iliad, who was killed by Greek hero Diomedes during the Trojan War.

THE MOUSAI were the goddesses (http://www.theoi.com/greek-mythology/olympian-gods.html) of music, song and dance, and the source of inspiration to poets. They were also goddesses of knowledge, who remembered all things that had come to pass. Later the Mousai were assigned specific artistic spheres: Kalliope, epic poetry; Kleio, history; Ourania, astronomy; Thaleia, comedy; Melpomene, tragedy; Polyhymnia, religious hymns; Erato, erotic poetry; Euterpe, lyric poetry; and Terpsikhore, choral song and dance.
In ancient Greek vase painting the Mousai were depicted as beautiful young women with a variety of musical intruments. In later art each of the nine was assigned her own distinctive attribute.
There were two alternative sets of Muses : the three or four Mousai Titanides (http://www.theoi.com/Titan/Mousai.html) and the three Mousai Apollonides (http://www.theoi.com/Ouranios/MousaiApollonides.html).

dras, I'm here, I'm with you, Us, I. There is nothing like this Love. Nothing like it. It silences all fear it... is. Thank you for expressing. I know this is the final revolution. We will put an end to it and we will do it for everything and for all those longing, beautiful, passionate souls who tried before us, who stood up for who they are, for who 'I' am.. but were misslead and deceived. We will do it for every animal that has ever been slaughtered, every prey that has ever been killed in this mess called nature. For every child whos unwitting and well meaning parents told that child that he can't and shouldn't and taught him fear... for all boys and girls who went to school and were bullied and lied to; told that they were not perfect as they are.... for all those who died in meaningless wars and starvation. There will be no more compromises. No more lies. Because we know who we are and we are going.. no matter what!

Oh and music is very powerful. I don't have a talent for it, unfortunately, but I can play it :)

Yeah that's true. All our emotions are important and often sadness and pain lead to the greatest most profound growths in being that we ever experience. Music reflects this doesn’t it? Music evokes the feelings that we are often unable to connect with in any other way.
It soaks through the defences and liberates the moment we are in.
The God thing being a good example. If I say I am a Christian, or a Muslim, or a Jew the barriers of "other" can fall. I, if I was to give myself a label would say I am 90% Humanist with a ten percent dash of fool!
I honestly don’t know f God exists! But I know that love exists! And I know the power of love, includes whatever is the truth of creation/evolution.
The transforming reality of love, means that it is a mystery with absolute evidence in our hearts every single second we are alive. The meaning of it is constantly available to us, as is its shadow pain.
Pain accompanies love like the twin sibling. They are identical twins, who contain all the same depth and transformational miracles. Accept pain, and love is not far away. The opposite is always true also.
Our culture tries to separate these identical twins. Always a miserable outcome for both. We need love to swim in the same ocean of unity and trust. A unity and trust which gives us the faith, to weather the storm of the soul when the pain surfaces. When someone we love is lost, or when some other tragedy happens.
But life needs death. It sounds crazy but its true. Love only makes sense in the light of death. We have a limited time on earth. That much we know. We don’t truly know with same certainty that we will live again, but we do know we will die.
I've been near to death. And you don’t think "am I going to live again". You regret all the things you haven't said and done. You regret the "silliness‘" of feeling frightened of what others will think and say if you open you heart.
It taught me that the fear is our friend just as much as the love is. Fearing the fear keeps us away from feeling the love that happens when we aren't too busy struggling to control ourselves.
That and when our mind isn't drawing distinctions between people based on the ways they control their fear.
Music has no dogma. No baggage no agenda besides feel it or don’t feel it much like love and pain.

Indeed :), very well said rowan. I discussed this with my friend recently: love cannot exist without death. We cannot bring ourselves to love something that will last forever which is indeed why we love life.
I completely agree with the wrong you see in seperating fear and love; people usually have them in 2 completely different spectrums, but they ultimately are the centre of the whole emotional spectrum. It has been said that we fear the unknown, but when we come to know the unknown, we begin to love it. A simple (but not really good) example can be the simple fear people have of water and drowning, though it is easy to see how much people love water (hottubs, wave pools, or diping in the oceans themselves :)). A better example is the fear people have of the truth ;), but the love that emerges from it once confronted with it.
Anyways, I don't feel like I'm saying anything new but I guess what I'm trying to say is that: fear produces love (unless unconfronted) and destruction breeds creation (death produces love, as you were saying that love holds the spark of creation).
