Free Hugs has to go viral in our cities

Charlie Veitch, Danny Shine and Ollie the Octopus are doing such amazing work. They are actually getting through to the cops and the people, and I would say that they are arguably the most effective of all the people THAT I KNOW OF (along with Ickey, who I am guessing helped to maybe inspire them).

I have no doubt at all that the cops at the cop stations in London will be talking about these guys, and will likely ask each other if they have ever been hugged by them :)
Hugging cops is a MASSIVE step and it's essential that we get through to the coppers (who are just PEOPLE like you and me really), and Charlie, Danny, and Ollie are DOING IT :) They are doing something MASSIVE when they hug cops. You gotta take your hat off to them. Amazing.

Hugs are very powerful in the spreading of love to our fellow man. Why should we fear hugging our fellow man anyway :confused:
There is a danger though that the cops are gonna see these guys as just a bunch of loveable eccentric fellars. The cops will probably feel an amount of love for them, but the question now is WILL THE COPS ACTUALLY FEEL A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF LOVE TOWARDS THE REST OF THEIR FELLOW MAN ? - I think that that could be a problem - The cops will probably still despise the rest of the civillians.
For that reason, I feel that we need to make "free hugs" go viral in our cities. We need to offer free hugs to people WHO WE HAVE TALKED TO (especially "strangers") by saying something like "Would you like a free hug ?"

I am gonna start doing that.

I love the fact he is willing to be as open as he is. Really refreshing to see someone’s emotions at the surface of their being. We are all ready to decide which way we want things to go. We (can) listen with our hearts open and our minds no longer telling us that it is futile. People do care! People see the loneliness and anguish and want to change it, that is what truly counts, the feeling that things have to be better because we are human beings.

Excellent. Thank you for the inspiration, Steevo. This feels so right and I'm going to do it today when I hand out flyers about the vaccine in the city. Gosh, I'm really going to stand out :) I'm a bit nervous, this is Little Sweden after all and the pressure to conform is quite dense... all the more important then, I guess.

If I don't missremember a Free Hugs movement already exists. I even think they have t-shirts. Worth checking out. Will google it later.

It seems that to the vast majority of people these days think that love for our fellow man doesnt actually exist, and it seems that cops/military have had the love drilled out of them. We need to SHOW THEM that love IS here - I mean how can they be expected to realise that love exists when all they see and experience is hatred/anger/fear ? Let's show people what love is, and that it DOES exist.

In the video (above) Charlie talked about a lonely person sat on a bench. We need to crack up a conversation with our fellow man, for no other reason than you love him/her, and that you feel like chatting with them. I do it alot these days. When I help people, it helps me.

But yes, hugs are really needed ESPECIALLY NOW. If you see someone who looks as if they have no love to give, then give them some of yours :)

I think that it may take a LITTLE time to get over the fear of hugging (we fear that they will think that we are wierd). If we genuinely love our fellow many, we WILL overcome the fear at some point (soon hopefully).

Distributing free hugs in a world where the people have been divided and conquered, completely alienated from each other, is quite a daring thing to do (though it shouldn't be). And yet, if anything, it is probably one of the easiest and most important ways to share human love; we are all one race and the love should radiate off of everyone and onto everyone and everything.

Regardless, there are small movements happening right now, and tough I forget who says this quote, 'don't underestimate the power a small group of committed people who want to change the world can have, in fact, it always has been the case' (I know that's not the legitemate quote). Or that other guy who says 'the world moves forward because of those who oppose it'.

Anyways, point is, love is what we feel when we feel the natural flow of life take us on it's grand journey. And hugs are definitely a physical way to communicate this. Though my belief in means of communicating love on a rather massive frame is through music :P.

On a funny note, my artist name for making music is Trezabuggy and the title for the independent album I completed this Summer was 'The Trezabug-Hug: Ear Porn'. Indeed, the hug signifies my huging you with the ambient/psychadelic sounds I have organized, and ultimately, an expression of great love.

I admit, I chickened out. I stood there, wearing my 'Vaccinate This!' -hoodie and handed out my leaflets with a big grin but I could not bring myself to offer free hugs. Keep working out it, it aint easy. I talk about the love of my fellow man, and about some of the important issues such as vaccininations, labels, wars etc etc and you can then feel a connection (love) with the person you are speaking to, and when I have finished speaking to them I wanna hug 'em (but I HAVE bottled out MOST times), but instead I leave by saying "keep spreading the love". I am gonna hug more from now on though (if I DARE to :eek::D lol).

I'm with you Steevo!:) I refuse to be controlled by anything that tells me it's wrong to care. The woman you describe sat on the bench, I could feel what you were describing from here, It's all around, what a chance to connect.

The heaviness in pit of my stomach when I see someone who just feels so alone. And immediately the joy I feel at having the (real power) to go up to her and make a conversation about the weather, or ask her for the time, or do you know where so and so is? Any pretext to ask her something which allows me to say (anything that connects) with her soul, her feelings and my soul my feelings.

Something which leads to her lifting her head and the smoky, empty lost eyes be replaced by the light of hope of a deep knowing that someone actually exists who feels like it matters that she is in pain.
