Hi, I have fibromyalgia, I am often in pain. Pain killers don’t help. I have a TENS machine which give a little relief. Sometime I want to cry because of the constant pain I’m in. Exercise is almost impossible. I also feel extremely fatigued all the time. Has anyone got any advice?

IF anyone can say anything as to help relieve the symptoms I would welcome it.

In my experience I have not really come across anything that really helps with it. The only thing I can say is -will-. I used to not do much because of it. eventually it, irritated i guess is not the correct word, but one I will go with enough that my will grew stronger then the pain/fatigue. I am not sure really how to put it across effectively in words =(.

I don't take medications at all though, once I became immune to Tylenol it kind of killed my desire to just medicate it as well.

Have either of you ever tried some high quality Cannabis flowers? It helps someone I know with fibromyalgia a lot.

Here's some info from Don Tolman's Farmacists Desk Reference....

Fibromyalgia often means a low magnesium level in the sufferer. Adequate amounts of magnesium promote cellular functioning and energy production.

The leading food sources of magnesium are almonds, amaranthe, avocados, barley, brazil nuts, buckwheat, organic chocolate, pumpkin seeds, quinoa, spinach and sunflower seeds.

If you're certain that fibromyalgia is your ailment and not a similar condition like chronic fatigue syndrome, these at-home strategies can enhance comfort.

Get moving - even if you hurt. For someone who is hurting all over, it's hard to believe that exercise is the best treatment but it's true. The good news about the pain of fibromyalgia is that the pain has no purpose, meaning that even though you hurt, exercise won't do any damage. Exercise can significantly control the pain of fibromyalgia.

Start slowly and set realistic goals. Try for one brisk five-minute walk. Then gradually increase the time and intensity until you're walking briskly for 20 minutes three times a week.

Try warm-water exercise. Many people avoid aquatic exercise because the thought of getting into a cold pool is too much. Check with your local Y or health club about aquacize programs held in heated pools. Water at body temperature or between 90 and 100 degrees F, is best.

Hop into a hot tub. Fibromyalgia can be soothed by heat. Soaking in a hot bath or a hot tub with a whirlpool are very effective. While in the water, try some stretching.

Avoid sugar. This includes all artificial sweeteners and synthetic white sugar, which provide only empty calories and no nutritional value. Processed sugar also depletes the immune system for up to 14 hours after ingestion. As an alternative to sugar try Stevia, a natural sweetener that does not impact blood sugar levels. It's also great for diabetics.

Sodas/all Carbonated drinks. Sodas are dehyrdrating. Carbonated drinks acidify the body and leach calcium out of our bones. Especially avoid diet sodas and anything with nutra-sweet/aspartame, which adversely alters the chemistry of the brain. Drink more purified spring water.

I have it, but it's almost gone--I rarely have symptoms anymore, whereas for a at least a couple of years in the past I was virtually incapacitated. I tried everything I could think of, both mainstream and alternative (acupuncture, prescription meds, lots of body therapies, herbs, spiritual stuff, etc.), and although I got somewhat better, I really succeeded only in barely managing the symptoms and learning to live with pain.

My answer isn't one that most people would want to hear, but I had to move to a totally different climate to get over fibro. I went from a swampy southern city with very high heat, very high humidity, and high barometric pressure to a location with a long dry summer and a mild wet winter, and low barometric pressure with no storm fronts blowing through. My recovery after moving was very, very quick. I visited this new place for a week and felt almost totally fine while here, then returned to my old city and got off the plane and almost instantly was engulfed in pain. I loved where I used to live, but the choice was obvious for me.

I should say that one of the theories of fibromyalgia is that it has a connection to "neurally mediated low blood pressure"--I myself have super low blood pressure, and another time when my symptoms went away was during pregnancy, 'round about the beginning of the second trimester when my blood volume and blood pressure rose. After my child was born, the fibro did come back.

Back to climate ... I know weather is a factor for many people with fibromyalgia, but the pattern can vary. Some people are bothered by cold, some by heat, some by storms, etc. And many people do not have the freedom to just move several states to a very different place. My ideal location healthwise is actually the desert, but that's not an option for my family economically (no jobs for us there), so instead I make do with my current town.

I'm sorry you're going through this. I know having fibromyalgia can be like living in a nightmare, and my heart goes out to you. I also know that if I can find a solution, you can, too, so don't give up hope.

Okay first off I suggest one starts a herbal combination of 50/50 Olea europea and Withania somnifera. Ideally a fresh 1:2 or 1:3 tincture of this combined formula at a dosage of 15ml 2x daily. See how one goes and if theres improvement in a matter of days. This herbal formula should be taken at this dosage for at least 3-5 months. If improvements are there and highly improved then the dosage could be lowered to 10ml 2x daily. See how this goes first and it may surprise you. My aunty has all of these symptoms and was getting in a right state. With these two herbs as above in an even lower dosage daily, she's improved dramatically! She's also noticed not only the energy but less joint pains and a good weight loss. Whilst having a more inner calm about her and able to cope with situations better. Be aware that the Olea europea will most likely cause a few minor herxheimer reactions like mucus discharge from the nose and glands swelling etc all depending on how much filth is within the system.

Then of course you'd start to rebuild the Liver, Adrenals and thyroid function more and more. The use of Dr John Ray Christopher's, 'The Incurables Program' would be wise including the Mucusless Diet system of Prof Arnold Ehret and Dr John Ray Christopher. The Olea Europea works all over the body but is also a decent Liver aid and works well on the Liver conversion of Thyroxine (T4) to Triiodothyronine (T3). The Withania somnifera also works well in this region but it also aids those Adrenals very much. I would suggest little sugar intake incase this is burning out the Adrenal glands.

Herbs for the Liver would be for the first 3 months Cynara scolymus or Carduus marianus. Then a herbal program of the combination formula of Chelidonim majus, Peumus boldo, Verbena officinalis & Berberis aquifolium.

Herbs for the Adrenals are Glycyrrhiza glabra, Eleutherococcus senticosus, Hydrocotyle asiatica, Sarsaparilla aristolochiaefolia, Withania somnifera & Verbascum thapsus. Ideally these should be combined into a formula.

They should also look into the work of Dr Fereydoon Batmanghelidj on the subject and follow his Water protocols fully. I personally think his best book is 'Water & Salt; Your Healers From Within'.

I would also strongly recommend the use of acupunture by a Chinese doctor at some stage. For pain relief you'd look at a formula of Scutellaria baicalensis, Tanacetum parthenium, Valeriana officinalis & Viscum album.

Superstar is right. Cannabis. grow your own, good quality, it is far easier than one might think. you dont have to smoke it, you can eat it, extract the resin, it honestly relieves pain and uplifts the spirit so if you are in pain , it is bearable because you have HOPE. cannabis breaks down NWO programming and boost the immune system.

Vitamin B12 (sublingual) for the fatigue, and it's worth trying an exclusion diet. You could have a food allergy which is causing the pain.

Be well. :)

Yes, sublingual vitamin B12
Subligual vitamin D3 (is a steroid and not actually a vitamin)
Cutting out carbohydrates as much as possible, or even totally cutting them out, which I have done. Any dairy products I use are unpastureized.

Many people with "fibromyalgia" or "M.E" actually have low 'normal' thyroid function and/or low 'normal' cortisol production/low 'normal' vitamin B12 levels.

A friend of mine's b12 levels came back 132, when the reference range runs from 100-999 - so where the hell is HER NORMAL on that scale????? Considering she has 'fibromyalgia and and an M.E diagnosis, I would say she is desperately in need of B12 injections.

Myself? I was diagnosed as having FMS/M.E when in fact it was Addison's Disease, and that wrong diagnosis almost cost me my life. I would say to anyone, find a bloody good endocrinologist if you can.

I read in a book that having a magnetic mattress pad helps this although I have no clue where to get things like that. You can probably find info online. I keep telling people to get a book by Kevin Trudeau it is called "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About". Should check into it, it has a lot of interesting stuff.

F*** pain. Do not pay any attention to it. Find out what interests you then do it if it is not crazy like serial killing. Doing what interests you is why you were born. I do not probably have fibromyalgia but I have all sorts of strange pains.

But I just do not care. F*** pain. When all pains are gone I am dead. In the meantime I do what interests me; that means writing. If you can post here you can write.

You should definitely try to increase your magnesium levels. The best way to do it is by using Magesium Oil, it's amazing stuff, rubbing it on areas of pain should even provide you with immediate relief.

You can get some here.

I would also suggest you look into something like the Gerson Therapy, people normally use it to cure cancer but it willl work with high success on pretty much any health problem. Heres a couple informative videos for you to check out, including a testimonial from a girl who used the therapy to cure her fibromyalgia.

Heres a full length workshop by Charlotte Gerson where she goes into great detail on the therapy.

I hope that is of some help to you.

This thread caught my eye because I have just been reading a few book reviews for books about the dangers of sugar, and as it turns out I saw fibromyalgia mentioned as something which can be relieved/cured from removal of processed sugar.
Its certainly something I would suggest looking into.

Avoid aspartame, MSG, any and all vaccines, and all artificial foods.

Take lots of chloral, kelp, dulse...all types of sea weed on toast with butter or any other way you can.

Drink sour cherry juice, a small glass full every day. Don't forget. Drink it every day. It works. Good luck.
