The majority of 'democratically elected' Members of the European Parliament vote for a review of the rule restricting the amount of liquids passengers are allowed to carry aboard planes...
European parliament asks the Commission to revise “urgently” the liquid limitation in planes. It got 382 votes in favour, 298 against and 15 non-participation.
In the session of the European Parliament, they approved Tuesday with 382 votes in favour, 298 against and 15 non-participation, a resolution that demands the commission an “urgent” revision of the community order that limits the amount of liquids brought into planes. They also ask to revoke the law definitively if “it doesn’t show new results” to demonstrate efficiency of these limitations on the fights against terrorists.
The Euro MP’s criticise that the rule “hasn’t been imposed in all the airports and operators at the same time” and “it is economically damaging to confiscate personal objects from passengers”.
They also denounce the “troubles and inconvenient the law causes to passengers and also to the operators”.
The resolution orders the Executive to publish the whole rule, because there are some parts that haven’s been published.

Shortly after the vote was passed the European Commission effectively stuck two fingers up to the MEPs -
STRASBOURG, France (Reuters) - The European Commission swiftly rejected a call by the European Parliament on Wednesday to reconsider rules banning airline passengers from carrying liquids through airport security checkpoints.
