Hey Mike,
My first time on the clinic board.
Just a small query as to the benefits or detractions to one's health of substituting ordinary white sugar with Light Muscavado Cane Sugar, when added to my cup of coffee. I accept the fact that the coffee is bad enough, but could you tell me the difference between the types of sugars, if any.
Thanks

We have answered over 2,000 personal mails from this site, for people with serious concerns. It's called priority, when the serious issues have been dealt with, we will deal with those of a non life threatening nature. Right now sugar differences is one of a non life threatening nature.
Please be patient, and respectful.
I can't see why the subject of sugar is not a life threatening priority, when Sugar Beet was originally used by the Nazi's for fuel, basically a high burning octane like Rocket Fuel, which can't be processed by the pancreas, and it's one of the major causes of Diabetes ever since the UK Government's began licencing it's use in our food source since the 1950's!
Stick to the Muscavado Sugar Cain, it's unbleached with chemical's, and you're less likely to have a multitude of ailment's and passing on pancreatic murder onto you're offspring in the future!

Refined sugars are not good for you at all in my view because it can trigger all sorts of health issues. One of the big ones is that it turns the body to a state of high acidity, to counter this the body has to release high levels of calcium before the body goes into shock. Because of the amount of calcium required it is leached from the bones. This in some cases can cause Osteoporosis. If you are a sugar user then Muscavado is one of the better choices. It is natural and unrefined, high in minerals and provides energy.

Seems all kinds of sugars are bad, also isolated fructose often marketed as a "natural" sweetener in food products. Natural fruit is ok because here nature provides the necessary fibre to bind the fructose.

There is a thing called a phagocytic index which tells us how rapidly a particular macrophage or lymphocyte can gobble up a virus, bacteria or cancer cell. Before you regularly use any sugars including honey remember that glucose (sugar) and Vit.C have similar chemical structures. What happens when sugar levels go up is they compete with one anotherupon entering the cell. The same mechanism that mediates the entry of glucose into the cell also mediates the entry of Vit.C into the cell. When there is more glucose around there is going to be less Vit.C allowed into the cell. It doesn't take much: a blood sugar value of 120 reduces the Phagocytic index by 75%. So when you take sugar think of your immune system as it slows down to a crawl. This is one of the reasons why cancer is increasing at such an alarming rate.

The Nazi rocket fuel is called Hydrazine. At the end of the war they had huge stocks of this stuff left over so they decided to find out what happened if they gave it to humans. Apart from nearly paralysing them it did create euphoria.
This became the first anti-depressant (heaven forbid) and is now known as Amitryptiline and is in use all over the place. In fact it is one of the most widely prescribed drugs in the UK

Try Stevia,
and if You try Stevia, try the green powder.
Health Food Stores should have it.
It is really confusing sometimes about what is good and what is bad.
White refined Sugar is clearly the worst.
Honey? Raw Honey.
Fruit sugar is good. In fruits.
Blackstrap molasses. Very good, but maybe not exactly what You want tastewise.
You should try Stevia.
