View Full Version : Haircuts

Haircuts don't really seem as normal to me as they used to.

The good guys in movies don't have their hair past their ears, except for like independent films.

And the crooked bad guys are always grungy with long hair.

Don't know why, but a thought came to me the other day, that told me memories are retained in our hair. like rings on a tree.. that represents the years.

My beard too. it's bloody staying. however unfilled and scraggly it may be..

it's mine and part of my whole. and i'm not chopping it for nobody.

it seems unnatural to shave and get a haircut.

that's my two cents. dont have anybody to prove to but myself on that one.

Why cling on to the false self? By saying "this is me" you are upholding a conceptual image of yourself, the image of yourself in the mind: "This is me, this is how I should look." Through identity you reinforce division and enhance the ego, trapping yourself further and disconnecting yourself from the whole.

because it's mine to cling to..

i'll play with it how i like.
thank you very much.

I like growing a beard every now and then. But there are times it's TOO fuckin' scraggly and itchy and I shave it off because I'm bored. I think I'll grow one again :D

i accept that i'll have somewhat of an ego until i pass from this plain of existence. my dna has locked me down enough to not let me escape this body ha.

so yes, i accept that i am who i am. my ego is only so limited compared with the ever-running stream of conciousness moving through my mind and beyond.

if i didnt relate to the body i have. than i couldnt relate to the physical world around me in which i use as my playground workshop and i study everything subconciously.

i am me. i am free.

there's always that awkward period.. but then again really.. who's it awkward to?
and what the fuck is awkward? nothing at all.

the longer it gets the smarter i feel.

i think im tricking my mind into thinking that.
but at the same time i think im expanding my storage space up there just by tricking my mind into that state of being.

Well, I've gotten a lot of stick about my long hair from my family. My friends love it, my family don't. What's the deal with that?

But I love my long hair, I don't care what anyone thinks.

There's nothing wrong with playing the part of the totality of the body, but I'm just trying to point out that it isn't your ultimate self, so in the grandest sense it doesn't matter how you have your hair, because modifying your identity to make your false self look more desirable to your false self or others is a reinforcement of the ego. But whatever.

i was thinking about this the other day

i think i may not cut my hair

When I lived in San Fran, I had a 6 inch beard and hair down to my mid-back. I was walking down the street one day, and this guy from across the street yells, "Hey, cut your hair!" Real angry like. I'm thinking, what the fuck does my hair have to do with anything? He thinks if everyone conformed he would be a lot happier, but happiness has nothing to do with the external, and he was just taking out his own inner insatisfaction on "those damned hippies."

I should have yelled, "Grow your hair long!"

yes cleft i get you on that.

i like my individuality though.

i'm going to follow the knowledge in my head if it seems right.

haircuts don't seem very natural to me. so i won't cut my hair.

if my here-self represents my whole-self...

than i'm going to take it that my whole-self is guiding my here-self towards what i'm moving to. and if i feel that my whole-self has an ego to.. the same as mine essentially.. than hey.. its just instincts.. i'm not just any conicousness.. i'm human conciousness... a mammal coniousness.. and that comes with baggage.. just like the reptillian conciousness comes without warmth, or sympathy, or understanding of consequences. straight up pyramid conciousness.. where they need to be on top...

and if i know i'm not that.. than i'll deal with having an ego and a sense of self.. so long as i can know love, and compassion.

makes sense i think

Spiritual growth is measured by how peaceful you have become, which is the product of how fully you live in the present moment.

I prefer to keep my hair short. Like, shaven, but not skinhead short, you know. Short and clean. BUT! I'm not shaving my beard. I like to keep it neat looking, but I'm letting this SOB grow. A beard is the last thing a man truely has.

So many guys these days. You couldn't tell them apart from a woman in my opinion. Plus, I have been told, that without my beard, I look like I'm 14. I'M 22!!

It's not cool being carded for a pack of smokes here when the age limit is 16!

Danny the dealer Withnail & I
Danny:
I don't advise a hair cut man. All hairdressers are in the employment
of the government. Hair are your aerials. They pick up signals from
the cosmos and transmit them directly into the brain. This is the
reason bald-headed men are uptight.

T-Rex Ride a white swan
Wear a tall hat like a druid in the old days
Wear a tall hat and a tatooed gown
Ride a white swan like the people of the Beltane
Wear your hair long, babe you can't go wrong

i have worn my hair long most my adult life , and have a beard most of the time , but i shave it off when i feel the need to release something DNA removal ? same with hair i did a grade 2 from waistlength one time , its personal choice , but why do so many politicians seem to dislike them ?except robin cooke and look what they did to him :D Also i think if we where meant to have short hair and a clean shaven chin then we wouldnt have the abiltiy to grow it , i was gonna say we would be born like it but arghh that would be scary a long haired beardywierdybaby, and if that was the case should we have long finger nails ? i read that hair and nails continue to grow when you are dead as its waste matter , so there are a lot of shitheads out there lol .:D

Interesting that analogy with the films good guys = short hair. Bad = long hair...I'll have to keep my eye's out.

In Waynes world you had a long haired good guy with a short haired bad :D

Long hair is quite in fashion now...There are so many more around than there used to be.

I think long hair is a symbol of virginity especially portreyed in Samuel who had long hair, was very strong and his missed tried to kill him twice before until he told her the secret of his strength (his mojo) and then that night her and her maid cut off his hair (in other words, had a threesome)...They then enslaved him and once his hair grew back (his mojo returned) he killed everyone! I think the hair analogy is because it takes as long as it does to grow your hair (till its long) as it does embibing yourself with your mojo till your strong.

I'll certainly agree that growing hair out seems to be more of a natural thing to do. :)

I have the longest hair in my entire family, and out of all my friends.
My family doesn't necessarily like it. Especially the Dad. "Cut your hair son"
"Why?" "..buh..well..meh..uh.. Because it's too long!"

I went to a Christian private school growing up. And I've always wanted long hair.
But at the school you weren't allowed to have long hair or even a beard!
One day one of our teachers had a "Suggestion Period" where he wrote down
suggestions for the school from the students, and I said we should be able to have long hair.
And he said why? And I said "Well because Jesus had long hair. You want us to all be like Jesus don't you?"
The response was none, and the next motion was NEXT! ... way to go faculty of reason.

So I don't know what the deal is with this "long hair is simply not right!" attitude, but it's just total conditioning really.

I haven't cut my hair in 2 years; been growing it out for 5.
Always wanted to grow it out to my ass... almost there!
Though I'm cutting half of it off in a day or two...
...I just feel like growing it out again, plus I need to work on
not REACTING to things, so I'll use this as a symbol of a fresh start. :D

I always require at the least a goatee, something to stroke while I think.
Whenever I think 'deeply' without some sort of hair on my chin it feels so awkward.
...Or just sitting down or not doing anything for that matter, I love a hairy chin!

Does The Thinker statue/sculpture have a beard? :o

And whoever said they feel smarter with longer hair, I concur!
Though of course that could just be the result of so-called 'Time' for me - or both

and of course: "Some of the worst mistakes of my life have been haircuts" - Jim Morrison :p

Whats shampoo and what type of creature is a sham anyway ? I do use it on rare occasions but i never washed my hair with anything but water for several years , eventually it goes back to its natural condition , very soft and silky , but you have to put up with a few greasy months till it sorts itself out but well worth clearing the chemical crap out though .So if you dont dye your hair its worth doing , i saw it on a tv prog where they had a volunteer doing it throught the series , it had dr graham garden of the goodies as a host of it .As for the bug problem with long hair i dont find a prob prevention is better than cure and its just another way of getting more chemicals into us increasing paranoia and profit in one go .Plus it encourages nice short roman hair cuts they invented the short back and sides so it couldnt be grabbed in battle , i can imagine before that oh you bitch let go or illl swing for you i swear i will .:D
