Last year Mr Gore's venture capital firm loaned a small California firm $75m to develop energy-saving technology.

The company, Silver Spring Networks, produces hardware and software to make the electricity grid more efficient.

The deal appeared to pay off in a big way last week, when the Energy Department announced $3.4 billion in smart grid grants, the New York Times reports. Of the total, more than $560 million went to utilities with which Silver Spring has contracts.

The move means that venture capital company Kleiner Perkins and its partners, including Mr Gore, could recoup their investment many times over in coming years.

Few people have been as vocal about the urgency of global warming and the need to reinvent the way the world produces and consumes energy as Mr Gore. And few have put as much money behind their advocacy and are as well positioned to profit from this green transformation, if and when it comes.

Critics, mostly on the political right and among global warming sceptics, say Mr. Gore is poised to become the world's first "carbon billionaire," profiteering from government policies he supports that would direct billions of dollars to the business ventures he has invested in.

Representative Marsha Blackburn, Republican of Tennessee, has claimed that Mr Gore stood to benefit personally from the energy and climate policies he was urging Congress to adopt.

Mr Gore had said that he is simply putting his money where his mouth is.

"Do you think there is something wrong with being active in business in this country?" Mr. Gore said. "I am proud of it. I am proud of it."

I don't want to make a big point on it. I see it for what it is and I'm not fallng for the constant manipulation he pulls over the eyes of million's. But as they alway's say, you can fool people some of the time, but not all the time.


The other thing, is he is very reptilian. It's strange his teeth are very like the Queen mother. So when he shapeshifts it would mean false teeth, fillings and denture would crack:D

For me anyway, I can't watch this without feeling shocked. Katic Couric is a good presenter, but slow to pick up on his lies.

I think you're just seeing what you want to see there. He was asked a difficult question, he paused for a couple of seconds to think how best to answer it, and then admitted he doesn't really know (does anyone?). I certainly didn't see any sign of him panicking or being flustered there. He's still a gas-guzzling hypocrite though. ;)

NO I am a master of perceptual ability and I also believe in my ability to see past what most would limit themselves too :) So what my point is, I'm not really concerned of what you think I perceive reality to be. I'm interested in what you perceive it. If this makes sense.


I know a lot more than I let on. Maybe I'm saying to much in that. I'm merely interested in the thinking processes and responses in the audience. He put his head down closed his eyes and did a heavy deep breath. He panicked and it's clear. It was a clear trigger of great stress that he wanted to repress.

I think it's great how the whole Global Warming thing has such a major spokesman, because all that means is if you prove him wrong, you prove the whole argument wrong. How efficient. All you need to do is have Al Gore in a debate with people who don't believe we're the cause of climate change and bam, the scam comes crashing down. Though it's only a dream on the horizon because he's denied doing just that it turns out...

Gore is no different to anyone who is greedy, the system in which he revolves will let him get away with anything he wants to do, he's not bothered in the least if he is prooved wrong at a later date, he and his cronies are absolute tossers we know but untouchable and he will simply retire with his billions, unless someone takes him out, this still won't make any difference they money will never be repaid.

They are all smug bastards, but clever ones and set up avenues throughout power so they will never get caught, if we cannot catch them for Kennedy or 911, he is laughing all the way to the banks that we give our money like lemmings to use against us, we are the bloody fools not him.
