She's 50 years old and has been taking this pill called "Propycil" for about 5 years. She's been told to avoid anything salty, follow some strict diet and get more calcium in her body.

Is there a cure for Hypertheroidism? Because I don't see this therapy going anywhere - things are only getting worse and she gets even more kilos with every passing day, no matter how strictly she follows that diet.

The thyroidgland governs how fast fats are burned by the body, and is often related to the liver.

In chinese medicine an excessive liver steals energy from the kidneys and does not release energy to the heart. Therefore, by strengthening the heart and encouraging it to recieve energy, the liver is encouraged to release it's excess, which in turn relieve stress on the kidneys. The emotional pattern is usually resentment and repressed emotions.

Vitamin A/beta-carotene is a must, and whole food sources are best, they include....

spirulina
kale
carrots

higher therapeutic source....

dunaliella

Foods that contribute to liver stagnantcy....

Foods high in Saturated fats(lard, mammal meats, cream, cheese, and eggs)
" " in Hydrogenated fats(shortening, margerine, refined and rancid oils)
excess consumption of seeds and nuts
chemicals in food and water
prescription drugs
intoxicants
highly refined and processed foods

Food that stimulate liver out of stagnancy....

moderately pungent foods
spices and herbs, watercress, all members of onion family
mustard greens
turmeric
basil
bay leaf
cardamon
marjoram
cumin
fennel
dill
ginger
black pepper
horseradish
rosemary
various mints
lemon balm
angelica root
prickly ash bark
.................non pungents...........
beets
taro root
sweet rice
amasake
strawberry
peach
cherry
chestnut
pine nut
cabbage
turnip root
kohlrabi
cauliflower
broccoli
brussels sprouts

Hope this helps a bit

Toxic overload, fat people are toxic so build up a lot of water as an attempt to dilute the toxins. Look into full body/fat cleanse and candida cleansing also colon cleansing. The pills are toxic so are only making the situation worse, that's how I see it atleast. Prescription drugs big no no, look for natural health care practioner. Also a good book I recommend people often is Kevin Trudeaus "Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About". Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies :)
It will be a bit hard to convince her to cut out the pill, but it will be good if she gives that money for healthy food instead.
Of course I don't expect her to become better in a single day, but I will probably update with any changes soon.

My wife was hyper til they removed here thyroid. Now she is hypo and on synthroid the rest of her life and still her levels are way off and she has some pretty serious issues because of it.. Not that I know anything to help you but just thought I'd say something. If I knew then what I know now I would've never let that quack do that. CFB

If one is putting on weight like that then it sounds far more like hypothyroidism. When one has hyperthyroidism then weight loss is an issue. I suggest one knows exactly what one has before asking a question. Both can be treated via a protocol of herbal medicine, chiropracter & acupunture. Some people can do well just with herbal medicine and others need acupunture to pull in the balance better. I know quite a bit on the thyroid both ways but whats the point until you know for sure which unbalance they have. The quack poisonous allopathic treatment is a dangerous joke and will lead to further problems. As CFB mentioned earlierl, people with hyper are forced into having their thyroid either removed or irradiated to death. This then takes them from having Graves disease to having low thyroid hormone as if they had natural Hasimotos disease instead. So you're going from one problem to another. The body is simply out of balance! Regardless of which type it is the Liver must be addressed as this deals with the conversion of T4 to T3. The adrenals will also need addressing as will the heart. For now regardless I'd recommend the use of Olea europea starting off with 5ml a day in tincture form and see how one feels with that eventually moving up to 10 then 15 slowly. Also right now regardless of type I'd suggest nightly heated virgin Castor oil packs over the thyroid area. Do this for eight hours one a night at bedtime. Craig

Oh yea, you are right I confused it, she has hypotheroidism and not hyper- in the case of gaining weight :)

But now she just told me that the doctors said that she has hypertheroidism... dunno what it is really :O
Edit: She says that "it depends on the values of the hormones", whatever that means.
