the ability to defend onself against a potential threat is part of the human evolutionary process...
man learned to work as a team and to use weapons however crude initially to take down large predators in our distant past...
humans invented weapons to hunt and to protect themselves not to rob the local all night garage...
modern weapons dont create anti social behavoiur they are the expression of problems in our society, the old adage gund dont kill people, people do...
in the uk the ordinary citizen has a hard job fighting back when faced by gun crime and i appreciate that guns are dangerous and legalisation would be a step backwards in many senses...
but i keep asking myself the same question...if the government cant keep our streets and cities safe who can ?
sadly it may be an issue of empowerment...ordinary people seem to be encouraged to feel helpless and inferior and i am not even sure why or if it has anything to do with our govt...
