to live a long time, dont eat much. the fewer calories, the longer you live. but you have to be getting the right sorts of food otherwise it wont work. my chinese doctor's master chinese medicine and tai chi practitioner was interviewed a while ago by national geographic he's approaching 140 years old. still teaches tai chi every morning and walks up a mountain during th day. lives on nuts, berries, etc. hardly anything. looks pretty fit for his age and active altho his hair's really white.

if you dont want to be that extreme, here's a healthy diet suggestion for you thats still pretty extreme by today's standards. but i can guarantee you will lose weight and feel a LOT healthier if you stick to it. ONLY EAT: NUTS(diff types - almonds, brazil nuts, walnuts esp. good), SEEDS (often omitted part of the diet, but very important: e.g. sunflower, pepita, flaxseeds etc), BEANS (not the heinz ones. choose a no name brand with no preservatives, numbers in it. check the label carefully, or boil them up yourself), CHICKPEAS (good in hummus), LENTILS (good in dahl and soups), SOYA BEANS are good, CORN (esp. if you are gluten intolerant. MANY people are and dont know it. if you have ibs or bowel/wind problems you may be both gluten and dairy intolerant. try cutting it out of your diet and see if it helps), WHOLEGRAINS (e.g. brown rice, etc. you can eat basmati rice also but white isnt as good as brown, as many nutrients are in the husk, unfortunately..), VEGETABLES (raw and cooked. these should form the MAIN part of the diet. what you're really living off. use in salads, in juices, raw and cooked. leafy green is good, but you need a wide variety and lots of different colours to get all the nutrients your body needs), and FRUIT (berries are good for anti ox, but all fruit has important stuff your body needs). eat less fruit than vegies. and that's about IT. you can eat an egg couple of times a week for extra protein if you need it (make sure its not cage or barn laid - crap into you = unhealthy body. unhealthy miserable tortured chicken = unhealthy egg. not good for you.)

If you absolutely cannot live without meat or dont want to, eating fish or chicken a couple of times a week (as a GARNISH to a meal, not a huge portion) is probly ok. if you just eat the fish, even better. if you do eat chicken, make sure again it isnt a barn or caged hen. they are full of hormones and will probably kill you or give you breast cancer if you're female. (the hormone oestidiol is put in many meats that women eat and estridiol is one of the main problems behind hormone positive breast cancer. be VERY careful what meat you eat... ). Personally i dont think the fish or chicken is necessary, and think you can get enough protein wihtout it, but many people wont do that, so i put it in as an option (not a recommended one really re: the chicken).

DRINK ONLY: WATER, VEGETABLE JUICES, GREEN TEA, HERBAL TEA and some fruit juice is ok. a very healthy drink is WHEATGRASS or BARLEY GRASS juice.

and this is the diet. stick to it, and you'll be super healthy.

it doesnt have to be boring, there are many yummy recipes for this stuff. investigate indian cooking, vietnamese recipes (even some healthish desserts they have using fruit/rice etc), asian recipes in general, etc. with herbs even vegetables can be made interesting.

DO NOT EAT: coffee, black tea (caffeine can block a certain b vitamin), alcohol, SUGAR, (no cakes, bikkies, lollies etc), soft drink, RED MEAT, or DAIRY. Absolutely NO dairy at all. this is a critical point. or you wont lose weight and you wont be healthy either. sorry but thats the truth.

if you must eat something sweet (and i must, sometimes) try maple syrup, honey, or if you're being really bad, brown sugar in tiny amounts. stevia is a sweet but better and healthy alternative. DO NOT EAT artificial sugar/aspartame. it is very dangerous and shudnt even be sold in shops.
you can even get dairy free chocolate using an alternative to sugar sweetner (but not artificial sugar) that tastes nice if you check your health shop and look hard enough). but hte point is, eat this type of stuff VERY sparingly. like once a month or hardly at all, if you can.
honey IS good for you, but not all the time. not every day.

Why no dairy? books have been written on it. but just think about it. do any other mammals drink milk once they're weaned? and the milk of another species at that? no. what does milk do? it makes babies grow. you are an adult. you dont need to grow. drinking milk (esp of another species) is gonna make your body go haywire eventually and lead to cancer and other things. its not the right thing to put into an adult body. asians already know this and dont touch the stuff. they use soy instead. i recommend this.

the asian word for cheese is solid mucus. milk is actually pus, which might help put you off. and often has a bit of blood in it too. try eating an eclair now... when your body eats dairy it forms mucus around it cuz it has trouble digesting it and mucus helps break stuff down. hence you get a mucus in your mouth afterwards and bad breath. you wont even notice this until you go off it for a while.

also milk (casein the protein in milk) has been linked to cancer. Read the book 'the china study' by dr campbell. he fed rats casein, cancer grew. stopped the casein, cancer disappeared. also professor jane plant (cbe) a famous uk scientist, has written books on how she cured herself from final stage breast cancer (after having all normal treatments that failed, and with 5 months to live) by dropping dairy after she observed lower rates of cancer in asians. it may not work on its own tho unless the rest of your diet is also healthy and correct. (but if you dont drop the dairy, you could be very screwed..) this is a caution. cancer is your whole body going haywire. you have to fix it all to survive. you must eat VERY healthily and ABSOLUTELY correctly. get everything your body needs; and be stress free. then u shud be fine. chinese herbs/acupuncture also help.
also on milk, an american paediatrician has written a book called 'dont drink your milk' with other info on milk and why its dangerous. also many people are lactose intolerant and dont know it. especially kids with allergies/eczema etc.

re: red meat. red meat and dairy cause an inflammatory reaction in the body. studied by mainstream scientists. they've also noted the link between this and inflammation and cancer. so basically; drop red meat and dairy if you have cancer is my strong advice. this really shud have been on the news as its a major story, and breakthrough, but it wasnt.

sugar and alcholol have also been linked to cancer growth in studies.

oh, i left off the diet. EAT SEAWEED!!!!!. e.g. sushi. most people are iodine deficient which is linked to fibrocystic breast disease and breast cancer. wakame seaweed in lab tests was found to be better at killing cancer cells than the chemo drug 5 flouracil.

curcumin/tumeric is another anti cancer herb.

as is cats claw which boosts your immune system; which you nee dif you have cancer. it is a fact that your immune system is the ONLY thing that protects your body from disease and sickness. it is your body's ONLY barrier against getting sick. and what does chemo do? totally destroy it. so be very careful. if you are gonna have chemo, you need to get your immune system back up to speed after wards asap. i am very suss of chemo tho, i will link you a study later to explain why.. but anyway.

certain chinese mushrooms and herbs have strong anti cancer properties. ask your chinese doctor for help. and FOLLOW their advice about diet etc.

make sure you are getting enough magnesium. if you've just had chemo your body will be lacking it probly. probly causing osteoporosis in some. d id in me. take magnesium baths or supplements for a while perhaps. magnesium lack is linked to cancer. also you need selenium, from brazil nuts. a lot of green vegies shud give you magnesium but you must make sure youre body has what it needs wih this.


HERBAL REMEDIES:

period pain/cramps: chuck out the nurofen and the hot water bottle, this is better for you. Raspberry leaf tea with a couple of mint leaves thrown in. from your health shop. an old women's remedy. works incredibly well.

flu (including swine flu): ELDERBERRY TEA. this often comes in 'cold rid' tea available from your health shop. its the elderberry that will protect you. scientific studies have proven this to be so. the flu virus cant take hold, it really does work. again i can link you the study if you want.

ask your chinese doctor for other stuff. eg. there is a herbal cure for malaria, HINI, and other stuff too. some may only be available in china tho.

GARLIC. if you are sick, eat garlic raw. it really helps boost your body's immune system. also eat vit c. this is important. and get enough sun (vit d). and keep warm (warmth kills the flu virus. cold lets it thrive).

if you follow the above diet you shudnt get headaches or migraines. if you still do for some reason, acupuncture can really work).

No I'm not talking about that white poison they sell in the supermarket, I'm talking about the GROWN IN CRYSTALS salt that contains trace minerals and elements of everything your body is made of and will energize you, detox and clear up your blood. And it is actually much cheaper than the white poison you can buy in your supermarket.
In fact it's so healthy that drinking it from brine is considered a therapy.
And on top of that it tastes much better. It's as if it converts almost any food into a delicacy, it's magical!

well, i dunno. ive heard you can get enough salt via your food. that all the sodium you need is actually in hte vegies etc already. but i agree, if you're gonna add it, use the celtic sea salt or the himalya stuff, not the gross table salt. (whatever's in THAT.)

Soy tends to be GM so is best avoided I would suggest. Spurilina and algae are worth taking as they contain loads of protein, B12 and iron - things that may not be present in a vegetarian diet.

Also it is a good idea to avoid tapwater - we are 60-80% water so it is pretty important - see Emoto.


Hemp oil is good also.

thanks. i agree, hemp seems like a pretty useful food. and i agree, tapwater = very very bad. all the crap they put in it, not to mention the flouride, which apparantly was used by the nazis in camps to subdue the inmates, so i read anyway. but i also read the body absorbs 1.somthing litres of water when you shower, so showering under flouridated water is probly not great either. i am sure it was making me sick; i feel much better now that im using tank water/rain water to drink/shower in. i could SMELL that the tap water was funny.. many countries have banned flouride in water supplies. so why havent the rest? everyone's half asleep.

i think spirulina and algae sound like they're pretty good for you too.

however, i do have to disagree about the soy. i really think it is worth trying hard to find some non gm soy milk etc. you CAN get it if you look for it. i dont recommend the gm stuff of course.

but soy i think plays an important role also in warding off breast cancer, particularly if you are hormone positive, as it occupies the oestrogen receptors, acting in a similar way to tamoxifen, except without the associated side effects of uterine cancer and whatnot. at least thats what im doing.. also, asians (before they adopted a western diet) were largely cancer free, and tehy eat a lot of soy, so on that basis... (also it is a handy substitue for dairy and a source of protein i think)

also i think soy has a lot of important nutrients etc in it; you can basically feed the world on it really. instead of growing cattle and not having enough land/food for everybody; clearing too many trees etc...

there has been disinfo i believe out, lately bashing soy and flakseeds. ridiculous in my opinion, but people will beleive it.. vegies are good for you. plants have healing properties in them.

do you know, that in ancient greece apparantly, they put all their olympic athletes on a strict vegetarian diet to improve their fitness pre games?

do you also know that plato noted that a society that ate a lot of meat would naturally need a lot of doctors. what did the greeks perhaps know, that we have all forgotten.

i also find it funny that the most advertised foods on tv etc, are the most bad for you: e.g. dairy (icecream, good for calcium bones, etc we are always told. it is actually very bad for you im afraid. and you can get calcium in other food, eg figs. also you dont need as much as they say. highest osteoporosis rates correlate to countries that eat the MOST milk/dairy. figure that out. never mind, i will tell you. its cuz calcium is in balance with magnesium in your body. mg from leafy green vegies probly. you dont need a huge amount of calcium, you need the right BALANCE. and generally its MAGNESIUM you're actually lacking, not calcium.), [ milk DOES have a lot of calcium. TOO MUCH probably. and its othe rside effects are just not worth it. you WILL get sick. ) red meat (we were meant to eat it says the slogan; brain food it says; etc.. sorry people.. not so good for you); and SUGAR (lollies, cakes etc). also not good.

oh and if you do have cancer, try some apricot kernel oil on your salad (from the deli may have it); or eat a few apricot kernels (inside the seed is the bit you eat), and APPLE SEEDS. and apple a day really does keep the doctor away if you eat the SEEDS. vit b17. has a lot of bad press lately. personally i think it works. the hunza eat apricots by ht edozen and pips and they live til 100 and never get cancer... go easy on the apricot pips tho. they are VERY bitter, so you probly only need one once in a while if you're following the diet.

oh and, if you get into a car accident and need facial reconstructive surgery, see your western plastic surgeon.

:) just to be fair. i dont want to totally bash western medicine. it has some very good points to it.

a lot of bad too (mostly re: drug industry tho).
