Pakistan's pro-Taliban militants blame private US security firm Blackwater for a Wednesday bomb blast in Peshawar which killed over 100 people.

Hakimullah Mehsud, head of the Tehrik-e-Taliban, said Blackwater and some Pakistani agencies were involved in the bomb explosion at a crowded market in Peshawar.

According to the latest reports, the death toll has mounted to 106 with over 150 injured while rescue workers say that more people could still be buried under the debris. Most of the dead were women and children.

Pakistan army says since the militants are facing defeat in the South Waziristan tribal region, they are now targeting the people.

Mehsud has rejected the claim, saying the US security firm Blackwater, in collaboration with some local agencies, were involved in the attack.

On Sunday, about 200 supporters of the Tehrik-e-Taliban party held an anti-US demonstration in Dera Ismail Khan, denouncing Blackwater and chanting anti-US slogans.

The provincial chief of the Jamat-e-Islami party, Saraj-ul-Haq, said that the Pakistani operation against militants, which is being conducted 'with the consent of America', should be stopped as it only fulfills the aims of the enemy.

"Now this is sure, that all the blasts, either carried out on Faisal Mosque or Khyber Bazaar, are carried out by Blackwater," he said.

About 28,000 soldiers are battling an estimated 10,000 pro-Taliban militants, including about 1,000 tough Uzbek fighters and some Arab al-Qaeda-linked members.

Analysts have warned of the possibility of more violence as the militants come under pressure in South Waziristan.

Students think the main purpose was to isolate Pakistan internationally, as more then 56 countries’ students are enrolled in the I.I.U.I., adding that their majority was enrolled in the Faculty of Sharia and Law which was targeted, thereby exposing the intentions of the culprits.

Did Blackwater attack Islamic University?
Written by Moin Ansari World Oct 23, 2009

A large number of students from different universities of the Capital, on Wednesday, took to the streets against the brutal killing of their colleagues in terrorists’ twin blasts on International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) on Tuesday.

They were of the view that the main purpose to target the IIUI was to isolate Pakistan internationally, as more then 56 countries’ students are enrolled in the IIUI, adding that their majority was enrolled in the Faculty of Sharia and Law which was targeted, thereby exposing the intentions of the culprits.

Hassan Javed, a student at Sharia and Law Faculty at IIUI, said that misleading concept of Interior Minister Rehman Malik to announce ‘Special Student Task Force’ to counter the terrorists turned the peaceful environment of the campuses into a battlefield.

He lamented that in the presence of well-equipped law enforcement agencies there was no need to involve the students into security related issues. “Furious response of the IIUI students at the arrival of Rehman Malik showed the prevailing hatred against the rulers,” he said.

Asim, a student at IIUI, opined that there was a foreign hand behind the recent terrorist attacks in Iran to create a rift between Iran and Pakistan. He claimed that more than 20 students of the University were martyred in the twin blasts. He demanded of the government to separate itself from the US and its so called war against terrorism.

The National Students Federation (NSF) held a protest demonstration at National Press Club Islamabad to condemn the attack on Islamic International University and to express solidarity with the affected students. NSF members were holding placards and chanted slogans against the terrorists.

Nazish Zahoor said that under no circumstances could the killing of students at IIUI be justified. He said that only a long-term change in the policies of the state would be able to counter the trend of young people being drawn to extremist ideologies.

Militants hit another Pakistani girls' school
Sun, 01 Nov 2009 07:34:55 GMT

A militant attack on a girls' high school in northwestern Pakistan has destroyed the school's building and wounded at least four people.

Two explosions ripped through the 18-room high school for girls at Kari Gar village in the Khyber region.

"Militants have blown up the school with two blasts and all rooms were demolished," administration official Shafeer Ullah told AFP on Sunday.

"Four people in neighboring houses were also wounded and their homes slightly damaged," he added.

Wahhabi-minded militants have destroyed hundreds of schools, mostly for girls, in the northwest of the country in recent years.

It's curious that Pakistan has been (literally) coming under fire...considering the big Pakistani community here in the uk. I must follow this a bit closer.

The documentary called The New American Century shows a map of the oil pipeline that the PTB need to fulfil their project and the last part that needs construction is that very same NW area of Pakistan. They know the Pakistani's won't just let them in, so this news is not surprising and it might not be the end of it either.

It isn't much of a surprise though right?

If you watch even the vapid msm reports you begin to see a pattern emerging of a build up towards a devastating event within any country which our sticky fingers are involved in. If there's public momentum towards the troops being pulled out of a country, there will invariably be an attack on civilians which attempts to reinforce our presence. If the msm are trying to vilify a government or country, programmes will be shown which portray their breach of human rights law...etc etc etc.
