I've been taking 2000 units everyday since Sep1.
Will stop taking it in tablet form in the spring and summer.

5000IU of Vitamin D sounds quite high, I'd probably say 1000IU would be ok depending on your weight. i think that around 100mg of vitamin c is about right. But im no doctor so best to search the web!
Check out this website, it will give you your recommended daily vitamins based on your weight, and it gives a breakdown of each foods vitamin and mineral content.

2500ius D and 2000mg vit C.
Best to take good quality vit C, loads of brands are just ascorbic acid, Biocare do a good one in powder form. My mother's a nutritionist and she takes that one.
I think there's a company called nature's plus who do a mixed ascorbates powder. I find its cheaper to take the powder form, and if you don't like swallowing pills you can just mix with juice.
I took 2500iu's vit D a day last winter and I didn't get any colds or infections of any kind while I was taking it.

I put in a recent thread that I was able to shake off an abscess in my cheek with 3Grams Vit C, 2000IUD3 and 650mg Magnesium (not taken together) over four days. I only drink purified water and for that time I just ate raw fruit and veg.
Last time it was a surgical job, 4 days in hospital on IV antibiotics and an open wound for 6 weeks. Needless to say I am pleased. No side effects from the self-treatment either.
