Objects going missing - Poltergeist?

Hey there,

Has anyone else experienced objects going missing?

We have had ghostly/haunting experiences in this house since we moved in (18 months ago), seen and heard a few strange things.

HOWEVER - just lately a few things have completely 'vanished' - not right before our eyes, but from where they were placed.

We have a teenager and a 5 year old - and it is inconceivable that it was either of them, and it obviously wasn't me or my partner.

This has caused strees and tension because there have not been any visitors to the house during the hours when these things were last seen - and noone wants to accuse any one - so it can get a bit fraught!

It was impossible for the teen or the youngster as they were not present in the house during the hours when these things could have gone missing (not counting the possibility of sleep walking, which is a very very low possibility).

Has anyone else experienced this?

Question is what to do about it? Do these objects return? Do more things disappear?

(I really wish I'd started to keep a ghost journal in this house you know! It can be very spooky soemtimes. You see shadows... sometimes you can hear 'whispering' - As I was walking in the hall it was as if someone had leant forward and whispered something in my ear. I've also had someone 'touch' the back of my neck. And both me and my partner at the same time saw the lower part of a pair of legs walk across the room. THAT was freaky!!)

Shoud I ask 'it/them' for these things back??

Yep. My husband and I bought a house from my gram. He smoked pot then. He used to hide it in an old fashioned doorbell. Nobody else knew where he hid it. It dissapeared. I kept my cigarettes on my end table. I rolled over to get one and the whole pack was gone. Never found it. My hair dryer turned on by itself. My sister and her new husband rented our upstairs apartment. She told me that a pair of sterling candlesticks that they got for their wedding and a jade plant were missing. I told her to tell the ghost to bring them back. The candle sticks came back but not the jade plant. I had the curtain tiebacks in my bedroom.,Every morning they would be down. I put nails in them and they would still be down. Never found the nails. I had a german shepherd who was totally loyal and never left the yard. He disappeared and we never found him. Then we got a yellow lab. He started having seizures and then was paralyzed. We had to have him put to sleep. I used to dream that there was something evil in the cellar. My gram had a cat before we bought the house who started having seizures too. There was a lot of evil there. I left my husband because he was having sex with everybody. I signed the house over to him just to put paid to it all. He stayed for a while and sold it. I have always wanted to talk to the new owners and ask if anything strange happend to them.

The thread above reminded me about an incident in the shower a few months ago.. I heard my shower gel drop on the floor.. but didnt see anything..then a few seconds later.. my shower gel dropped to the floor

glitch in the matrix or naughty little spirits.. who knows :cool:

Part of the problem is my side of our life is quite chaotic so it is difficult to detect whne things go missing for me!

Funnily enough it was some pot that disappeared; from a little box, only me and my partner knew where it was. From the last time it was seen to when it was discovered missing there was no chance any of the kids could have, and we know for certain they would not have done anyway. No one else has been in the house, no visitors, the house was empty, we were all at school/work.

Also 20quid wwnrt missing from a box that was hidden where only my partner knew were it was.

You find yourself questioning in weird ways - I was even going along tyhe lines of 'perhaps the landlord (we rent) has let himslef in while we were out??

In light of the other ghostly occurances, I am going with that - we have NO OTHER explanation!???!?!

I asked for it back last night - will ask again tonight!

I forgot another one. There was a time when I was really broke and desperate. One day I went into my jewelry box and there was $275.00 cash. Nobody I knew had the money to do that and I lived alone anyway. To this day I have no idea where it came from. Another time when I was broke I found a wallet in the snow with $200.00 in it. I would have returned the money but all that was in the wallet was the money and a ticket to a strip club. LOL Once I got a job driving taxi so I could get out of an abusive relationship. I rented a room. The first week at work a drunk gave me a $200.00 tip. I said no. That he would regret it when he woke up the next day. He said God has been good to me, so I can be good to you. I always seem to find money when I desperately need it.

So this afternoon after reading that someone else had done similar, I went around the house and took some photos. Just popped into a couple of roomes/locations where I have seen/heard/felt activity.

Orbs n blurs I am happy with accepting as dust or insects.

However... what is the 'object' winding its way halfway up the stairs...??? :confused:

Whats the object at the bottom of the stairs? on the floor at the right hand side. I see the face of an African it's black with blue eyes and lips ! It may be my computer but it is the one thing that dominates the photo to me.
I often have things disapear, only to have them reapear in the madest of places. I suggest asking for protection from your guardian angel. Ask three times for their protection then ask the entity what you can do to help them. Trapped souls often just need a little help to pass over. You have more to fear from the living than the deceased.

gulp! I read that late lat night while I was watching the Matrix! Made me shivver!

Really tho, we don't detect anyhting evil or malicious. You occassionally see/hear something, but it is rare enough to just live with it as part of the fabric of this house!

We love living here and like this house - we do feel that there is a sadness, or there is something bad that happened here - we feel that there is someone here who is unable to move on for some reason.

Thing is we disagree whether that is male or female - we feel we have detect both, so perhaps there is more than one 'entitiy' trapped here.

I seriously was NOT expecting to get soem photogrpahs like that tho! I read somewhere yesterday about someone who visited a haunted house and took loads of photos and seemed to capture the image of a 'ghost' in a window, so I decided to give it a go. Just took some random pics around the house. This was the only one with anything in it.

It's quite stark isn't it!

You often see pics of 'orbs' and you're just like - year right, errr 'dust or insects'?? But that pic is full of 'Orbs'!

Spooky innit!!

Seriously tho - I'm sure you would liek it here, it is actually a nice and welcoming house and every visitor has always felt warm and wlecomed.

We just live together alongside the 'ghost/s' it's not a problem!

Possible that the spirit/soul dimension has both aspects since it goes back to creation itself :)

That I don't know - would be interesting to find out the history of the people who have lived here - this street of houses was built in 1870s I think - so nearly a 150 years of poeple living here!

Would be intereting to find out. I might aske a couple of friends who know 'mediums' and maybe get a visit and see what they pick up...

You are right about the sadness - it feels like an inevitable sadness, rather than a shocked sadness if you get what I mean?

It feels like the sadness at the death of a child in difficult circumstances rather than a murder.

My partner pointed out that 'back then' there would probably have been servants, either living in the house, or they lived in apartment buildings nearby to serve the households here (when this street was built it was the premier street in the city, specially built on the edge of the city back then (now it is in the midle!) as aprt of a new development.

And of course, it was a common occurance that female servants became pregant with their 'masters'; so the pregnancy would be terminated, ot the baby killed when born. It is an awful thing, but the people involved were not evil people, they were poeple just like us trapped in a space and time that demanded of them certain things.

This is the scenario we imagine; the death of a child/baby in the house and possibly buried in the garden, as was often the case. And we feel very sorry and great sadness for all the people involved.

That's a very good observation!

We have come to the idea that we are dealing with two things here; there is a definate 'ghostly' presence that has been seen, mainly linked to one of the bedrooms. We both feel this is 'a man'.

There is also 'something' else, around the stairs/hall/landing that feels different, feels mixed rather than a distinct 'gender' although it feels more female than male.

I think poltergeist are more malevolent in their activities, missing things are usually attributed to beings of a milder nature, like gnomes or brownies.

I've got some (or at least one) in my house :D. I posted about my mysteriously missing scissors in another thread, which popped back into my house in a super obvious place after being missing for months. Now I am having a gallon jug of vinegar that has gone missing for the second time :D. The first time I searched the entire house for it and could not find it, then one day I was starting a fire and decided to look behind the wood stove, and there was the jug of vinegar. The kitchen where I usually kept it was 2 floor levels above the wood stove. I retrieved the vinegar and used it for only a couple of days before it went inexplicably missing again! Haven't seen it since! Apparently these little guys really like the vinegar loll.
