Here is the latest snippet from the 350 climate change group http://www.350.org

On October 24, people all over the world will take a stand for a safe climate future. This is a great opportunity to take action with other creative, fun people in your community—and across the globe.

350[dot]org, spearheaded by Post Carbon Institute Fellow Bill McKibben, is challenging the world to respond to the climate crisis—creatively—and inspire a sense of urgency and of possibility for our planet.

The focus is on the number 350—as in parts per million, the level scientists have identified as the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere. But 350 is more than a number—it's a symbol of where we need to head as a planet.

This December, world leaders will meet in Copenhagen, Denmark to craft a new global treaty on cutting emissions. The problem is, the treaty currently on the table doesn't meet the severity of the climate crisis—it doesn't pass the 350 test. So, on October 24, 2009, people, families, communities, the media, and political leaders will unite behind the 350 goal in a planetary day of action.

You may have seen these 350 posters everywhere, this is how they are getting the bogus global warming idea across to the general public, maybe they haven't yet seen the new evidence and someone should start up a counter claim operation, maybe get themselves down to Chicago central with opposing banners, just an idea..

To us one thing is clear, they are trying to get people to conserve oil, pure and simple,

Myself and a few others think its running out or is well past peak and they know it but are not telling us, its a way of preparing the masses to at least try to conserve for what's coming, so when it does it won't be as hard.

Telling them its rinning out will only panic people, and in the states and other similar places, its going to be real nasty when things start getting dearer and harder to buy,

The price of fuel has just jumped another 4 pence per litre yesterday this followed a 2 pence reduction, so we see it going down by a few and up again by a couple further, they have been using this tactic for many months now,

The cost of a barrel of oil is now, $ 80.00, that's up by almost 10 in the last six weeks and rising steadily, so we are over half way to what it was at the last spike, at $ 147.00 barrel.

If we have another war in the middle east in the next couple of months we could be paying £ 10.00 per gallon for gas here in the Uk, and out come mi push bike for the duration.

Keep your eye on the 30 post peak oil producing countries, they are the one who are going to fold first, Time will tell.
