hi errybody,

this is my 1st post. i saw this scheme on tv and it seemed very sinister.
its a project to give every child in the 3rd world a laptop. but not just any laptop one that has been spcifically designed for this purpose. i dont know how to make a link but the website is laptop.org.

I know what project you are talking about. The OLPC(One Laptop Per Child) project.

The OLPC's purpose is to give the same chances to children in 3rd world countries, the some what near same chances as ones in our first world countries. I personally feel it's a nobel feat, due partly to the fact that I think everybody needs to know how to work with, or know how a computer works.
