i see lots of posts that allude to symbolism and messages in our media forms, it does not take a genius to work out that the aim of information networks and blocs is some form of political and cultural unity amongst all humans.

the problem is not only how do you sustain concept driven societies and how do you unite people peacefully but what do you do when you achieve some form of hegemony ?

human history as it exists tends to focus on upheavals, ups and downs and is therefore in essence adrenaline driven. middle age fogeys ask why kids tune into violent films and violent doctrines but isn't it the adult wolrld that teaches them that peace is boring ? events like waterloo or the battle of hastings tend to feature more prominently in historical study as does the cult of personality...of course training humans to hero worship individuals tends to de emphasise co operation and working together and this would appear to contradict the idea of one world ideas but does it really...?

the social artistry of it is that you end up with people united behind the flag or person but no one actually knows how or why or even cares about why...
