An Ipswich policeman has been named Britain's most prolific thief-taker by Police Review magazine after clocking up more than 500 arrests in 12 months.

Sergeant Ali Livingstone, 27, made 524 arrests from April 2008 to March 2009, an average of 2.2 every working day.

According to one study the average arrest rate for police officers in England and Wales is just nine a year.

i think the words 'good' and policing' weren't meant to be.

after seeing the picture, could it be he just winds people up so much they are almost guaranteed to explode. Like to see the stats whether the majority of "collars" were all hard core wide boys commiting real crimes, or innocents arrested for civil crimes who merely lost it after having a "kid" talk down to them.
I think egotistic prick most definately.

I wonder what his conviction rate is and what the majority of his arrests were for..
he could be someone who really wants to make a difference..this could be the kind of policeman we need in the community, if he want to stop the intimidating chavs..

if he really is this supercop, driven to uphold the law, he could be the person we've all been waiting for here in the uk.

I wonder if he has heard of albert burgess?
I would love to see the super cop arresting all politicians, one after the other, on charges of treason, then arresting the cheif constables from tames valley and the other..:)

we can only hope
