My fridge and freezer are 'E' rated (energy inefficient). I also have a computer, 15 year old hi fi, 2 other tv's, 2 video recorders, 2 HDD recorders and a DVD/CD player.

Most of my equipment is at least a few years old and left on standby most of the time.

My electric bill is only £30 a month so I don't give a shit. In fact I hope my electrical equipment emits massive amount of C02. But only because this does not contribute in the slightest to natural climate change or non existent man made global warming.

He may only get VP status at first, but through election or "abdication" (you know, illness, impeachment or assasination) he will become president of the UWSA (United World States of America). the thing about lcd and plasma is..lcd has brighter colours where as plasma has true black..unlike lcd..

plasma tv's use more energy when lighting each pixel up white..and less if the pixels are black

so to watch a movie about daytime alaska adventures costs more than say star wars :)

Have you tried leaving the TV for a break in txt-TV mode? I use to set my TV on mute if I just leave it for a break.
I think it's much easier to calculate exactly how many watts a week the LCD screen consume.
My computer has a LCD monitor too, so I have a lot of space on my desktop. :)
