FORT COLLINS. Colo. - Authorities were trying to determine Thursday how to safely bring down a 6-year-old boy who reportedly clambered into his family's experimental balloon-powered aircraft and floated away from home, sheriff's officials said.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Department said the boy's family had been building an experimental aircraft that had a large helium balloon attached to it at their home, KUSA-TV reported. The aircraft was approximately 20 feet by 5 feet and covered in tin foil, the station said.

On Thursday morning, according to the family and officials, the boy got onto the aircraft and detached the rope holding it in place. Sheriff's spokeswoman Eloise Campanella said the boy climbed into the access door and the airborne device took off."

Officials are trying to rescue a 6-year-old boy who climbed into a balloon-like experimental aircraft built by his parents and floated into the sky over eastern Colorado.
The dome-shaped balloon is 20 feet long and 5 feet high, Larimer County Sheriff's Office says.

Margie Martinez of the Weld County Sheriff's Office said a sibling saw the boy climb into the basket before the balloon took off. Since the door on the balloon was unlocked, Martinez said it's possible the boy had fallen out.

The balloon appeared to be a saucer-shaped, Mylar-coated helium balloon, not unlike a party balloon. The craft was drifting eastward, authorities said.

The helium balloon was tethered to the boy's family home in Fort Collins, the Larimer County Sheriff's Department said. The boy got into the craft Thursday morning and undid the rope anchoring it.

"The structure at the bottom of the balloon that the boy is in is made of extremely thin plywood and won't withstand any kind of a crash at all," said Erik Nilsson, Larimer County emergency manager, according to CNN affiliate KMGH.

The Federal Aviation Administration is trying to track the aircraft on radar and has notified the Denver International Airport. Shortly after noon (2 p.m. ET), the balloon was sighted two miles south of Evans.

CNN meteorologist Chad Myers estimated the wind would keep the vessel moving at 30 mph. Authorities say the craft is about 7,000 feet above the ground.

Kathy Davis, spokeswoman for the sheriff's department, said a dispatcher received a call Thursday morning, and emergency services personnel were contacted.

Davis said a balloon company has been contacted and several media outlets offered to help track the balloon with their helicopters.

Well I admit it is a little suss the balloon was shaped like a UFO.....but then again, UFO's are so much a part of popular culture now, if I was going to construct a balloon myself (may try this one day....it looks like fun!), odd are I'd pick the shape of a classic flying saucer as my design.....mainly to poke it back at em! :)

We can all let our imaginations run wild. For instance it even ran through my mind that the child may have been abducted, and the perpetrator let the balloon go as a diversion or something, but at this point that is really taking an even bigger flight of fancy, so I let it go pretty quickly before I started looking into the numerology! :p

Sometimes, just sometimes, truth IS stranger than fiction, and as I don't have any strong feelings either way on this one, I'm just going with it all for now with the hope if there was a little boy on-board, he is now safe and well somewhere.

Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden told media in Fort Collins that the 6-year-old boy thought to be missing in a balloon craft has been found alive at his home.

"He was found in a box in the attic above the garage," Alderden said.

The sheriff indicated he did not think Falcon Heene's parents knew the boy was there; "They thought he was missing," he said.

Falcon's 9-year-old brother told investigator and his parents, Richard and Mayumi Heeme, that Falcon was in the "homemade flying saucer" when it went up.

The incident started this morning in Fort Collins when the boy got into the balloon-like craft built by his father, Richard Heene, and it came loose from a tether.

I watched the news about it for a long time and with all the clips from wife swap that they can use and the fact that he's into searching for ET's....I expect to see some crazy stuff in the morning about it. They were already getting geared up. Ladies calling in claiming he's a poor father, unstable and the weather balloon was called over and over a 'space craft'. The authorities already knew that the basket wasn't attached (I doubt it ever was) and there never was a kid in the balloon while it was being tracked on live TV.

So if the media knew everything else about this story while it was playing out, and that information was presumably vetted to them via the authorities, why was this one crucial fact not conveyed to the public?

Simple. They wanted to milk it for the full duration and make people think that there was a boy in peril, floating around in the sky in a UFO.

Well spotted. On one level you're 99% correct. On another you could say that he is expelling a demon that took control of him. Except the boy is seeking attention by sticking his finger in his throat to throw up. From this I would say that he feels disempowered and lacking attention. He does stuff to gain the attention of his parents who seem obsessive. He wants them all to himself. He wants to take control and is doing everything he can think of to get that close attention when you're sick as a child. It is however one massive Psy-op to discredit UFO loons.

The quest to observe the Higgs boson has certainly been plagued by its share of troubles, from the cancellation of the Superconducting Supercollider in 1993 to the Large Hadron Collider's streak of technical troubles.
In fact, the projects have suffered such bad luck that Holger Bech Nielsen of the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen and Masao Ninomiya of the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics in Kyoto wonder if it isn't bad luck at all, but future influences rippling back to sabotage them.
In papers like "Test of Effect From Future in Large Hadron Collider: a Proposal" and "Search for Future Influence From LHC,"
they put forth the notion that observing the Higgs boson would be such an abhorrent event that the future is actually trying to prevent it from happening.

"It must be our prediction that all Higgs producing machines shall have bad luck,"
Dr. Nielsen said in an e-mail message.
In an unpublished essay, Dr. Nielson said of the theory,
"Well, one could even almost say that we have a model for God."
It is their guess, he went on,
"that He rather hates Higgs particles, and attempts to avoid them."

Nielsen and Ninomiya recognize that the theory sounds pretty crazy and that other projects involving a lot of delicate technology — such as the Hubble Telescope — have gone through their own periods of apparent bad luck.

But their theory — wild as it is — is situated in current research in theoretical physics and time travel.
If the observation of the Higgs boson would result in calamity, they claim it isn't outside the realm of possibility that someone from our future might exert influence on our time to stop it:

While it is a paradox to go back in time and kill your grandfather, physicists agree there is no paradox if you go back in time and save him from being hit by a bus.
In the case of the Higgs and the collider, it is as if something is going back in time to keep the universe from being hit by a bus.
Although just why the Higgs would be a catastrophe is not clear.
If we knew, presumably, we wouldn't be trying to make one.

Balloon boy gets note from Queen

A five-year-old boy from Buckinghamshire has received a personal message from the Queen after she found a balloon he had released.

Charlie Castle was one of about 50 schoolchildren who released balloons during an end-of-term farewell at his school near High Wycombe in July.

The Queen came across it about 14 miles away, in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

A letter from Buckingham Palace to Charlie said the Queen was "so happy it was your balloon she found".

A numbered ticket was attached to the balloon, naming Charlie's school.

The Queen's personal assistant, Angela Kelly, was entrusted with returning it to Charlie, along with a note.

Anne Harding, head of Little Marlow school, said: "There was a message left on the school answer phone from someone who said they were calling from Buckingham Palace.

"I thought it could be a wind-up but when I made contact, I was told that the Queen would like to send a letter."

Mrs Harding said the school kept quiet about what had happened until the letter arrived last month.

When the envelope was opened, the little boy also found his green balloon tucked inside.

As the house lights went down for a performance of War Horse in the West End this week, two figures shuffled apologetically into their seats just as the show was about to begin.

The light was gloomy, and only one or two members of the audience noticed that the woman in a simple dark green dress, accompanied by her husband, was the Queen.

A journalist from The Lady magazine performed a double-take at the royal arrival, bemused that the monarch and the Duke of Edinburgh had slipped into the theatre apparently unaccompanied by an entourage of bodyguards and aides.

“It was amazing they just sat among the audience and enjoyed the show,” she told the London Evening Standard. “They were incredibly apologetic for asking people to let them past and there was no hubbub or fuss about it at all.”

The journalist, who asked to remain anonymous, said that she had arrived in good time for the production on Monday night, but noticed as she was waiting for the start that four prominent seats remained empty in the middle of the auditorium.

Just as the house lights came down the late party arrived, but went unnoticed by most of the audience until the interval.

“When the interval came the Queen shuffled discreetly out,” she said. “At this point with the lights up people began to notice that she was there and there was a round of applause which she acknowledged with a wave.”

Buckingham Palace sources claim that the Queen regularly takes similar outings, but usually goes unnoticed. Her last reported visit was to see the musical Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace Theatre in 2006.

War Horse is being shown nearby at the New London Theatre. The play, a First World War drama, was adapted from a book by Michael Morpurgo.

The Balloon Boy event and its impact on Denver International Airport

When it was thought that young Falcon Heene was trapped in a balloon floating across the Front Range yesterday afternoon the rescue mission ended up having an impact on operations at Denver International Airport.

The balloon was steered in the general direction of DIA by strong southeasterly winds.
At one point it came within a 10-14 mile range of the airport.
Flights had to be diverted due to the risk of colliding with the balloon and at the time what was believed to be a 6 year old passenger.

10-14-mile range.... If you read the BBC story (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8311392.stm) about the Queen's balloon, it is said to have travelled roughly 14 miles from where Charlie Castle first let it off.

And Charlie Castle is 5 years old, which his close enough to the Denver boy, who is 6.

I think it was today. I will add although I cant prove it. That last night I was talking about England beating Argentina in the 2010 world cup final. With a hand of god goal to be scored with it deflecting 90 degrees off of a balloon. Just a coincidence and not very accurate of me. Myself I say it was staged. Am I right in thinking that the red ball thing was in the goal area for ages before the shot.

Sunderland burst Liverpool's title balloon

SUNDERLAND, England — If Liverpool were starting to believe the footballing gods were once again conspiring to thwart their long quest for a 19th league, they will be convinced after a 1-0 loss at Sunderland.

With history already against them - no side has recovered from losing three of their first eight games and still won the Premier League - the Merseysiders arrived at the Stadium of Light Saturday with the further handicap of losing talismen Fernando Torres and Steve Gerrard to injuries sustained on international duty.

But it was a bright red beach ball that proved their downfall on Wearside.

When bubbly Sunderland swept forward in the fifth minute, Andy Reid's cross from the right was helped on by Steed Malbranque into the path of Darren Bent.

The Black Cats top scorer struck a low right-foot shot that arrowed towards a beach ball in the box and when Glen Johnson's foot knocked it away, goalkeeper Pepe Reina took his eye off the ball that mattered, which flashed past him to spark wild celebrations among Sunderland fans.

Reid had sent a presentable chance over the bar after less than two minutes and Bent might have done better with a couple of headers during a sizzling first-half in front of a sell-out 47,327 crowd.

Liverpool remained a threat throughout, however, with 20-year-old midfielder Jay Spearing arriving on the edge of the area to get efforts at goal.

Sunderland's goal led a charmed life in the 12th minute as George McCartney's slip allowed Johnson to cross low from the right, but neither Spearing nor Ryan Babel could finish.

Babel speared a drive a yard or so over and Fabio Aurelio was wide from 25 yards from a free-kick.

On the half-hour it took a crucial last-ditch tackle from Phil Bardsley to prevent Johnson shooting from only eight yards, but Liverpool were thankful Bent's finishing was not as sharp as it has been this season when he headed straight at Reina.

With a lead to defend going into the second-half and Liverpool continuing to press, there was a danger of Bruce's side resorting to 'anywhere will do' defending, with clearances pumped into spaces rather that towards front men Bent and Kenwyne Jones.

But Sunderland were so close to adding a second 10 minutes after the interval when Lee Cattermole robbed Spearing and Jones sent Bent into the box, only for Reina to make a great stop.

On the hour, Bent again got a sight on goal when he beat Reina to Martin Skrtel's header back but hit the post from an acute angle.

There was a flashpoint moments later when Jones went down needing treatment and Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez suggested to the fourth official the Trinidad and Tobago forward was time-wasting.

This provoked a furious response from Sunderland boss Steve Bruce and the pair had to be kept apart as Jones was carried off to play no further part.

Dirk Kuyt and Yossi Benyoun got in each other's way after 68 minutes challenging for a ball that bounced up in front of goal and the effort they managed between them, though tame and easy for home keeper Craig Gordon, was the visitors' first on target.

The hosts then carved out a glorious opening when Bent fed Malbranque in the area, but Jamie Carragher launched himself to block.

Liverpool sent in the cavalry, Andriy Voronin and Javier Mascherano replacing Skrtel and Spearing with 18 minutes remaining, with David Ngog following for Babel.

Voronin's header from Bardsley's spooned clearance was taken in the 84th minute by Gordon, who then had to tip over Johnson's cross.

Seven minutes of added time were shown during which Gordon produced a sensational double save from Kuyt and Ngog as Liverpool fell short.


One thing I've also noticed is how these celebrities, footballers, actors, musicians seem to be total dumb-asses. Like, totally out of their mind. So maybe it's not a case of them all getting round a table and saying, "The game will be staged like this", but rather... they are playing out some sort of ritual, against their own knowledge. Going out there on the global stage in front of so many people, they are being possessed into playing a certain game. I dunno. Just a theory.

Dutch tourists leave China after fatal hot-air balloon crash

GUILIN, Guangxi, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- A tourist group from the Netherlands left China Thursday, earlier than its schedule, due to the hot-air balloon crash that killed four members and injured the tour guide Wednesday.

The 18-member group came to China on Sept. 25, and is due to leave on Oct. 16, according to the original agenda. Its destinations included Beijing, Xi'an, Chengdu, Yunnan and Yangshuo between Sept. 26 to Oct. 15.

However, four members died after their hot-air balloon crashed Wednesday morning during a flight in Yangshuo, a famous scenic spot in Guilin city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China.

The hot-air balloon caught fire and crashed after the leakage of the balloon's gas tank. An initial investigation showed the balloon was flying beyond the distance and height limit set by local authorities.

The Dutch tour guide and two Chinese pilots were injured.

Antonius L.M. Van Zeeland, the consul-general of the Dutch consulate in the southern city of Guangzhou expected the Chinese government to provide a detailed written document on the cause of the accident and return the bodies to the Netherlands as soon as possible.

Niek Haarman, deputy Consul General with the Consulate in Guangzhou, said Thursday that he was satisfied with China's rescue efforts and the handling of aftermath.

Haarman, who arrived in Yangshuo Wednesday afternoon with some other officials for the accident, left Guilin Thursday afternoon.

The four bodies were being kept at the Guilin Municipal Morgue and are expected to be sent back home after the Dutch side, insurance companies and international organizations going through necessary procedures.

Some New Yorkers might be forgiven if, inspired by the uproar over Falcon Heene, they were curious about flying — or launching — a hot-air balloon into the Manhattan sky. The authorities have a message for such New Yorkers: Don’t even think about it.

“It’s unlikely that we would allow a hot-air balloon to operate anywhere over New York – they’re just not maneuverable enough,” Laura J. Brown, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration, said on Friday about whether a balloon journey above the skyscrapers of Lower Manhattan and Midtown might be possible. “Our regulations would basically require that you have a license and permission to operate in that airspace, and I don’t think we would grant permission to operate in that airspace to a type of aircraft that we would not be able to keep out of the way of other flights coming into and out of the four New York City-area airports.”

Ms. Brown added, “The most congested airspace over the world is the airspace over New York.”

Paul J. Browne, the chief spokesman for the Police Department, was even more blunt. He wrote in an e-mail message: “Hot air balloons are prohibited in the busy airspace above New York City, in which the greater maneuverability of motorized aircraft is required.”

Jon Radowski, the owner of Above and Beyond Ballooning of Readington, N.J., which operates hot-air balloon trips ($200 to $250 per person for an hourlong ride), says on his Web site, “We are the only balloon company in the world to offer balloon rides above NYC.”

But when asked about that claim on Friday, Mr. Radowski quickly backed down, acknowledging that “for all practical purposes,” it would be impossible to do.

For one thing, much of the airspace over New York City is controlled — meaning permission to fly is required — because of its proximity to the three main airports — La Guardia, Kennedy and Newark. Theoretically, one could fly a balloon within certain altitudes, away from the airports, but it would be quite difficult, Mr. Radowski allowed.

“We would try to talk people out of it,” Mr. Radowski said. “It would be a very large logistical undertaking.”

Mr. Radowski did say that some friends of his operated a hot-air balloon up the Hudson River, at a very low altitude, about 100 feet off the water’s surface, in October 2004. “I was on the ground team,” he said.

Indeed, some very modest hot-air balloons have been permitted in Manhattan — one hovered in the air around Tavern on the Green in Central Park last July to mark the 70th anniversary of “The Wizard of Oz” — but only on special occasions, and not at any height that could potentially affect flight traffic.

Exactly. You can't deny the Queen finding a ball from Charlie Castle at Windsor Castle is a coincidence, and therefore, I would suggest the Sunderland thing isn't one either... Not to mention the other minor balloon incidents. No coincidence, my friend. This is something else. Some kind of conceptual bomb has been planted into the consciousness and is leading to all kind of balloon-related incidents occuring.

I'm not scientist of energy, so I can't give you a formula for why it's happening now and how much longer it will go on. I just know it's happening, and that this outside of anything explored by conventional science.

In January 2006 in New York, the patient of a well-known psychiatrist draws the face of a man that has been repeatedly appearing in her dreams. In more than one occasion that man has given her advice on her private life. The woman swears she has never met the man in her life.

That portrait lies forgotten on the psychiatrist's desk for a few days until one day another patient recognizes that face and says that the man has often visited him in his dreams. He also claims he has never seen that man in his waking life.

The psychiatrist decides to send the portrait to some of his colleagues that have patients with recurrent dreams. Within a few months, four patients recognize the man as a frequent presence in their own dreams. All the patients refer to him as THIS MAN.

From January 2006 until today, at least 2000 people have claimed they have seen this man in their dreams, in many cities all over the world: Los Angeles, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Tehran, Beijing, Rome, Barcelona, Stockholm, Paris, New Dehli, Moskow etc.

It was planned in advance. At the beginning of the match the red ball can clearly be seen in the back of the goal net. So the goalie must of moved it out in front of him when the match started. The players then did a set piece which had been practiced on the training pitch by both teams. With the managers both agreeing the format to be used. I expect it is how the betting syndicates fix the matches that clubs like Chelsea are not expected to lose. All Pro sport is a sham.

The Balloon Boy event and its impact on Denver International Airport

When it was thought that young Falcon Heene was trapped in a balloon floating across the Front Range yesterday afternoon the rescue mission ended up having an impact on operations at Denver International Airport.

The balloon was steered in the general direction of DIA by strong southeasterly winds.
At one point it came within a 10-14 mile range of the airport.
Flights had to be diverted due to the risk of colliding with the balloon and at the time what was believed to be a 6 year old passenger.
