Hey all.

From first hand experience, I can say that Ritalin, DOES give you strange thoughts & a numbness feeling, like nothing matters. That's probably the speed.

One seven-year-old boy became so depressed while taking Ritalin in 2008 that he tried to commit suicide while an eight-year-old hallucinated that spiders were crawling up his skin after taking ADHD drugs.

I do not know why ADHD has such a bad rep. I bet it's only because the child becomes 'uncontrollable'. And hmm, 'nobody' likes that ;). I used to have ADHD, but I've grown out of it. I never used to be able to concentrate on certain things at school.

My brother in law is a 6th grade math teacher, and he basically says that the majority of his students who have ADD or ADHD take their medicine ONLY DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR! If they are at home during the summer, all of a sudden their "symptoms" are no longer a problem. The kids are basically being medicated to the hilt so that they can tolerate a traditional classroom environment and expectations. No one has ever considered changing the format to accommodate the boys. I'm not sure how much girls benefit from single sex education, but for many boys it could probably be the difference between being on the pill for their whole lives and being medication-free.
