Total death estimates in Iraq

On the day the UK holds a memorial service at St Paul's Cathedral to honour those who served and died in Iraq, Channel 4 News online compares estimates of the casualty count since 2003.

Today saw a national service of remembrance at St Paul's Cathedral in London to remember those members of the British armed services who died in the Iraq conflict.

In total 179 British personnel have died in Iraq since the start of the campaign in March 2003.

Channel 4 News online looks at the current estimates for the total number of people who have lost their lives as a result of the conflict.

What a shame! the #'s for those civilian deaths are even lower than the mainstream said they were a few years ago! There have been reports directly from doctors/scientists in Iraq putting the # of civilian casualties over a million.

this is sickening to me..so many civilian deaths and the deaths of the uk witch died for somthing they never knew about... PEACE TO ALL OF THEM... DEATH TO THE NWO

The church service remembers the British dead, but not the Iraqi dead. Are Iraqi human beings of lesser value than British human beings? The "Archbishop" of Canterbury might have to explain that reasoning one day.
