Hi All
I am getting increasingly worried about giving my beautiflu little Staffy his 2nd vacination. I have heard horror stories about dogs dying shortly after them. A friend at work hasn't given his dogs vaccines for the past 3 years.
I would prefer not to give him his second one, but am worried that i should. Anyone got any good information or stories they could share with me. Or if they are ceasing their vaccines on their 4 legged babies.

i only really give my dogs and cats their 1 and 2nd injections.i read about all the stuff that was in them and the allergys they were causing years ago.im lucky i have an understanding vet who knows my views on this. i also make sure they are castrated and neutered.i have only just started the microchipping lark but only cause a couple of my cats went missing.the only thing with this is that most insurance companies wont insure if their vaccines are up to date.bummer i know but then if you look after your pet and are a sensible owner, using a lead when out and neutering to stop unwanted litters then your not going to have many accidents.
there was documented stuff that the vaccines cause itching and skin desease in dogs also along with the new foods that were introduced at the time which we still now feed our dogs and cats.also interbreeding had a lot to do with these deseases as the gene pools were getting smaller.
i used to work in a pet shop.so i learned what i could about the dried and tinned foods.also reasearched into the vaccines for animals.that is where i have my views from.
its your call though.parvovirus is a killer.you can take your chances.be sensible and not let your dog off lead and be certain that its not near an infected dog.kennel kough does go on its own but its not nice to hear a dog coughing.and the rats bite desease is not good.but like i said its your choice.you know your own dog.staffies are a terrier and like all terriers can be a handful sometimes.we too own a terrier.jrt.
i still recommend the first 2 then forget it. dont forget the vets will try and make you get another shot year in year out. this is how they make their money.the shots cost pennies to buy but they will charge you anywhere from £24 to £50 for one.some courses take 3 jabs.this is how they make their money.a dogs immune system is like ours they get immunity from catching the bugs or having the first couple of vaccines and then the immunity builds. this is documented fact.
say 24 for the shot plus 50 for just seeing the vet.oh look i think it may have something say 70 for some more jabs/tablets and ill just give it a shot of antiboitic for another 50. cost just keeps building up. and heres the wormer and flea treatment (you can treat worms but they never get rid of them and flea treatments you can use ionic flea combs now but they always advocate the sprays ) so your bill for today comes to £200 and you can come back next week just to make sure.oh that will be another 50.sorry about the rant but they get my goat.oh and another thing they always make the surgery just so hot so you just agree with them so you can get out of the place.
although my vet is good its still the same.money money money.but i will say i would never let my pets go without medical treatment.that is cruel and that does bog me off.ive just paid £200 for a stray to gets its teeth done.and we have kept him although he is sick on certain types of food.and he is senile.
sorry about the rant again.vaccines your choice.

Please do not vaccinate your dog. I have three and haven't vaccinated any of them. I know so many people who have lost their dogs at a young age from the cancers ect that the vaccines cause.

Stay off vaccines! Your dog will do alright without them.
Just give Staffy your greatest love :)

I watched a vaccination video, which included dog breeders testifying that their dogs were becoming sterile by the 5th generation of immunizations. Vaccines for pets are just as crappy and ineffective as vaccines for humans. When your vaccine research leads you to discover that they never worked in the first place, all the conflict of "is it worth the side effects" becomes a moot point. Pets and people have never been made healthier by vaccines, although that seems to be what they want us to think. It is good that you are questioning the vaccine! vaclib.org has info on basically anything vaccine related. Hope this helps :).

ain't that the truth!
i don't get my children vaccinated & i don't get my animal companions vaccinated either. there's no reason to do so, the body is a super intelligent interconnected system, that functions flawlessly if not being bombarded by poisons & run down by stress!

Exactly. Do dogs in the wild need to be vaccinated that ses it all for me. I don't vaccinate my kids or my dogs and they are both very healthy living beings

the thing with staffys dying is connected with the innocs but it is a desease which you dogs parents should have been tested for before they bred from them.it is L4 i think the vet said. and she said if they hadnt been tested or you werent sure then she wouldnt recomment any more vaccinations.but it was your choice.i have a good vet.plus you dog is older now.should have got its own immunity.
but if parvo is going round your area then be extra careful as its not a nice deasease.also unless you are sure another dog doesnt have kennel cough then be careful there too.kennel cough is like whooping cough for dogs and the flem is gross.parvo is even worse.the eyes and nose run with snot they drink and drink but are still thirsty and they shit like anything.the lepro one is for dogs which ferret around (which is all of them:)) but if you are like me and live in vecinity of many rats then i would say yes.
i dont know if you remember 30 years ago when dogs were running the streets and pooing everywhere.uneutered and trying to hump one bitch with about 10 dogs.back street breeders with parvo everywhere. im glad owners are more educated now.(exept for the people who commit animal cruelty and breed and keep them in shit ect....)
i would be worried about new vaccines for dogs especially if it were like the h1n1 we might be forced to take( genetically engineerd ones) but as far as i know they are still based on the older ones.if you are worried check with your vet.my dog is 5 now so im not 100% sure on that one.
i wont be micro chipping my animals now as its been proved about the link with the chips to cancer.
i still would only have the one at 8 and 10 weeks like the guide dogs have if they were like the old vaccines.but it is choice.
