If you haven't seen the end of series 3 Doctor Who then you probably shouldn't read this.
I was listening to a radio interview with David Wilcock about the Egyptian pyramid initiation, where you would lie in the sarcofigous(sp) and healers would project your shadow self before you. It would be an intense and frightening experience and you could go insane during it. There was even reports of people turning evil and whole armies not being able to stop them.
This sounds similar to the Time Lord initiation where at the age of eight they would be brought to stare at the rift in space-time. One guy called the Master went mad during the initiation and successfully became dictator of Earth. Similar things can happen and this may even explain the Doctor's psychic ability as David explains is what happens after the initiation. I can't get this idea out of my head, so I'd thought I'd explain it here.
