i don't know about anyone else but it really pee's me when i am at home and the door is being constantly hammered by people trying to sell me stuff, asking for donations, asking for opinions....
Have i got a few minutes to spare.
Well, if i had a few minutes to spare, i wouldn't be answering the door to these lot, i'd be doing something constructive. Like playin on the ps3
It really gets my dander up when unanounced callers call. a man's castle is supposed to be his sanctuary after all, though it would seem that a man can not find peace even here.
One day a few weeks ago, on one of my rare days off, we had ten callers. Ten! And the letter box never seemed to stop clattering as more and more of the worlds resourses were shoved through it proclaiming that this take away or that take away had the best deals on kebabs.
I've knocked this up on the computer earlier (and yeah, the tackynes of it is as apparent in real life too ) and it has gone in the window.
i know in the grand scheme of it all, there are many aspects to focus on, but i have just had enough of these people calling round, and interupting my mind thread from the tasks at hand
Cheers All

Just a little confused with your wonderful post merlincove. Under what act or statute is a cunt defined?
Or perhaps it is a sovereign cunt. :D

Very good, this is something I hate too. I did put up a sign that stated no salespeople or canvassing here.
Used to get about 8 people a week knocking on the door plus all the unwanted leaflets and collection callers.
The sign reduced by about 80% the unwanted callers, but when I was fool enough to answer the door, usually without checking when expecting someone else, I point to the sign and they always ignore the wording no canvessers and say they are not selling.
I`ve moved since so not done a new one yet, but the rule I used was if I didn`t know the individual knocking by checking through the security spy hole, then simply I wouldn`t answer.
Sometimes if I was certain enough it was a meter reader then I would answer.
I also now have a caller display on my telephone and if I don`t recognise the number I wouldn`t answer and would check later for a message if there was one.
I agree with the OP we have better things to do that waste our time answering the door to these time-wasters.

Cunt is a type of cloth in S.Africa, similar to calico IIRC.
I was with a mate, whose Mom was visiting from S.A.
and we went to a market and saw a cloth store where she asked "How much is your cunt please?"
The bloke behind the counter said, "It depends lady, how much is yours?"
ROFLMAO.
So what you might mean is no cloth people. :D

OOhh no! I wouldn't want to put one of those posters up, these canvassers are good for venting frustration, lol
Some of them can be quite nasty I find, especially the ones from electricity companies.
They really upset me as I can't help but feel so much concern for elderly people who have to get themselves up off a chair and get bullied into buying their products.
I would much rather be confronted by a beggar who really IS in need of something from us

cheers Guys :D
i might re-do it with the words 'Notice to revoke implied licence to visit,' or somethin similar at the very top.
i'm just waiting now for somewho to knock :D
We had some religious types (i think) knocking last week - three times they knocked, each time with more and more urgency. i didn't answer as i was here on the forums, and i didn't want to have to discuss the pro's and cons of not wanting their religion foisted upon me.
And the other week, someone knocked and then lifted the letter box and shouted, 'hello....' through it!
:D

I knew somone who a few years ago went canvassing for a gas supplier. He told me that they were instructed to view anyone with 'No Canvassers' signs as their best targets, due to the fact that it's only people who don't trust themselves not to buy stuff on the doorstep, because they know they're punters display such signage! Have you ever heard such bollocks? :D

Well set out window poster. I liked it as it is eye-catching. You might want to check your spelling though.

I had a caller last night from Anglican windows, a young girl this time, I would find it very hard to be rude to a young girl :(
They are changing their tactics

yep, we get loads of charities coming round, and most are very smiley 18 - 20year old girls, the deaf charities and oxfam callers are almost always young ladies.
Today, ia am reliably told by karen, we had no callers at all. Not even the fella who delivers the yellow pages, he left it on the wall :D

We put up two posters, one stating we are a common law jurisdiction and the other revoking implied licence to visit telling uninvited people to leave our property forthwith.
Has anyone had any negative reaction to their posters from their neighbours?
Some of ours seem to be taking offence, even after we explain that it does not apply to them, but to so-called 'authorities'.

Here we even have small children aged 5-10. With an adult waiting down the street. Not joking.
