Hey guys, before I begin I just want to let everyone know that I didn't know exactly what section to put this thread in, so I placed it here. Please move it if necessary.
Since 911, my mother has not left the country, and about a month ago she decided to get a passport for the first time in her life to go on a much needed vacation. Now unfortunately during this time she had lost her physical drivers license, and in return, she needed to bring another form of I.D to fill out the application properly at the DMV. She brang her temporary paper license, her Birth Certificate, and along with myself to vouch that she was who she said she was.
According to them, that's all she needed.
Well, she showed me a letter she received just recently concerning her passport application. They wrote in this letter telling her that not only were her paper license, birth certificate, and her son not good enough to prove who she actually was, but they're making her fill out this 7 page packet. I've scanned it in to show you guys how fucking ridiculous this is. (Mind you, she ALREADY filled out a similar packet prior to this when she went to the DMV, although more general.)

Does this not make sense to anyone else? I'm sure I'm obviously not the first one to semi-experience this situation since 911, but it does get under my skin.
