I'd like to thank those of our Irish friends who campaigned so hard for a NO vote.eu Your efforts are sincerely appreciated by those of us who are aware of what Lisbon means.

The fight against Lisbon is not over. We've still got 2 Eurosceptic countries, and David Cameron is threatening a referendum for the UK. That would sort things out!!

Once again, thank you for your efforts.

EDIT: It is a UK referendum that would sort things out. My vote goes to an anti-EU minority party.

P.S. it would be fantastic if Brits could help by signing this petition.

The British Consitution Group will deliver it to the Queen.

I agree. The fight will continue, even in Ireland.

You don't have to obey an unjust law. European, Irish or from anywhere else.

Please don't think for a second that I support him. I will vote for a minority party, a protest vote against the traitors of the big 3.(lib/lab/con)

It's a UK referendum that would sort things out, not the election of the cabbage patch doll!

I like this new style of petition, but what's the effect of this petition so far, and how can we expect the Queen to help if she is one of them? I assume it's more a symbolic petition to stress our feelings?

If they know how the majority feels, then they will back down (for a while). We can then breathe again until the next tip-toe or downright onslaught.

They count on us being worn down over time. They are right in this, this has been happening this way for years.

A total change is what's needed.

Well it's in our hands really, if only we knew how strong we are individually, and collectively we are a colossus.

You are right, a shaking of the head to get the water out of the ears is all that is needed.

It looks to me like it will all be delivered on one day. The Queen would be in a difficult position if she wanted to act. The British Gonstiution Group has this to say:

It's easy to be cynical about what might be achieved with a Petition such as this. Petitions rarely have the desired effect - at least as far as the demands themselves are concerned. However, we think this is different.

The Queen is at present stuck with a Privy Council run by Peter Mandelson, a Parliament who think they have a Divine Right, and a House of Lords who are mostly "made men." She has no apparent support from the people to resist the pressures from these institutions, and so she will not act.

This Petition will prove to her that not only does she have our support to act as we have described in the Petition, but that we require her to do so.

We are also aiming for a secondary effect, here.

During August, every single day, in hundreds of different towns and cities across the United States, tens of thousands of people were turning up at so-called town hall meetings to meet their "representatives." Congressmen and Senators stood at the front of those meetings and attempted to justify their recent behaviour to the people attending. The surprise they got was that those people said NO. They said, SHUT UP! WE ARE THE PEOPLE. YOU WORK FOR US. SHUT UP AND LISTEN!

This was a real, spontaneous, mass effect within the population of the United States. We believe our politicians need to receive the same message.

If we gain enough momentum and power to get them to back off now, then the onslaught will be ours. We will keep on going, keep pushing. People are waking up faster now than ever. One decisive win could be enough.

I think it is a smart move by Cameron. Promise and then don't deliver. Once he's elected it's too late...
