Greece in fire.
Technically that is correct, if a town or area is subject to fire, it would be IN the fire not on it. However, I don't think the whole of greece is in a fire, just some parts.

Too hot summers leads to dry forests and plants. I remember something similar happening in Australia some years ago... Anyone who remember when this happened, and what wether it was further south than those in Greece?

These fires happen almost every year in oz. There was a major one a while back (80's?) and some other major ones every now and again that stand out. They always occur on ash wednesday, no joke.

Last year the whole state of Victoria (pretty much) was on fire. It burnt for a couple of months in inaccesible areas in the mountain regions.

I think it's time for you to re-read the Greece Myth, now. Everything happens for a reason. For the Myth of Greece or any myth, the more time it keeps, the truer meaning it has.:) It doesn't end up......;)

the death toll has reached 62... the whole country is on fire.
a lot of people are suspecting terrorists are behind this, because we have found evidence on many spots. there is chaos going on, thousands of acres of beautiful forests are just gone, millions of animals, about 130 villages are completely wiped out of the map.

the ancient monuments of Olympia and the museum were saved at the last minute, but nothing is safe yet.. the past 3 days, it has been 'snowing' ashes all over athens and the moon has become redish and yellow... it is just horrible. nothing is ever going to be the same after this. we are not going to show any mercy to the people responsible, i guarantee you.

I think there is a very good chance this is a deliberate action or warning for the Greek Premiere who I understand was intending to resist the elite and move the country towards a meritocracy style agenda.
