Recently, I read a book on alchemy promoting the Great White Brotherhood. Frankly, I wanted to learn about alchemy only, but the Brotherhood themes David notes kept creeping in. I recognized them all, but thought this would be interesting to other investigators of them.
Basically, this book claims that the Great White (Reptile-Aryan) Brotherhood financed Christopher Columbus and his voyage to rediscover not the New World, but the New Atlantis! Yes, these people believe they are the dispersed Israelite tribes being reunited to from a great soul freedom based nation (USA) under their god (Yahweh, El Elyon, Jehovah). Francis Bacon is one of their heroes. They really believe the pilgrims came to the USA the same way the Israelites "wandered through the wilderness of Sinai".
George Washington saw an angel in a cloud in a vision before he made his famous crossing. This angel showed him three revelations (The American Revolution, The Civil War, and the Third World War yet to come which they believe America will win). Now, maybe this represents some form of corrupted beliefs based on Utopia?

It represents an over inflated belief in the importance of America. Hello, there is a world out here!

Well, you really answered your own question there. It wasn't "written" by Saint Germain, by any chance?
