Bud, I think your missing the entire point here- No, I never lived in Ireland, my family on my Moms side came here during the Potatoe Famine and were met with lots of "racism"- That was something I never had to go through.

My point was, in our society its okay to stereotype "white" races (like the Simpsons episode where the Irish Museum has a drunk Irishmen beating his wife) and you can be as "racist" towards whites as you want. Actually, it is far worse.

Neither company has a record to be proud of but your choice of drink (Pepsi Max) is laced with Aspartame - at least the regular Coke is relatively additive free. But I wouldn't drink either of them.

To be honest, I am always a bit taken aback when I witness wised-up folk patronising the multi-nationals - none more so than the customers of BAT and Imperial Tobacco. But I am a bit gobsmacked to read that a 'truth finder' takes poison like that - whether naively or otherwise.

When I was in the states,I got into a conversion with this African American guy,basically he was being shitty to me for no reason I thought at first and the penny dropped so I asked him,You hold a grudge against me because I'm white,he said it was unintentional but was a result of this upbring,400 years of slavery will do that,which coming from Ireland I do understand myself,when I was growing up there was plenty of anti-British sentiment going around,it was bred into to us,the Brits are bad and hate the Irish,any time I have been to the UK,I have always felt welcomed,respect and greeted with open arms.

Anyway I started to give him a brief summary on Irish history and how we had been slaves for over 800 years and mentioned the No dogs,No Blacks,No Irish signs,pointing to the fact we were considered lower citizens than black people,the famine,he was surprised to say the least and didn't realize this any of this,and I just finished by saying so you see its not only blacks that were slaves and oppressed,I really think it sunk in.
