VeriChip Corporation Granted Exclusive License to Patents Used in Virus Triage Detection System for H1N1 Virus
Virus triage detection system being developed in conjunction with partner, RECEPTORS, will help process patient samples
DELRAY BEACH, FL and CHASKA, MN – September 21, 2009 -- VeriChip Corporation (“VeriChip”) (NASDAQ: CHIP) and its development partner RECEPTORS LLC, a technology company whose AFFINITY by DESIGN™ chemistry platform can be applied to the development of selective binding products, announced today that VeriChip has been granted an exclusive license to RECEPTORS' Patent No. 7,504,364 titled “Methods of Making Arrays and Artificial Receptors” and Patent No. 7,469,076 “Sensors Employing Combinatorial Artificial Receptors,” in their application to the development of the virus triage detection system for the H1N1 virus. The patents can also be applied to detection systems for other viruses and biological threats such as Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
Last week, VeriChip announced its plans to fund its existing partnership with RECEPTORS to develop the virus triage detection system for the H1N1 virus. The companies have published a white paper entitled, "An Integrated Sensor System for the Detection of Bio-Threats from Pandemics to Emerging Diseases to Bioterrorism," which outlines the system's development and is available at www.verichipcorp.com.
Scott R. Silverman, Chairman and CEO of VeriChip, said, "In a short period of time following our announcement earlier this month that VeriChip has agreed to acquire Steel Vault Corporation (OTCBB: SVUL) and form PositiveID Corporation, we have been intently focused on maximizing our product portfolio and relationships in order to bring identification technologies and tools for consumers and businesses to market. Our strong balance sheet immediately positions us to invest in our partnership with RECEPTORS and we believe that receiving the exclusive license as it relates to this application of the '364 and '076 patents, which are the foundation of the virus triage detection system being developed with RECEPTORS, is a key step in the evolution of PositiveID. "

Yeah, because fear about mainstream acceptance of a corporation implanting an electronic device under a person's skin is irrational.

VeriChip shares jump after H1N1 patent license win
Mon Sep 21, 2009 3:21pm EDT
(Reuters) - Shares of VeriChip Corp (CHIP.O) tripled after the company said it had been granted an exclusive license to two patents, which will help it to develop implantable virus detection systems in humans.
The patents, held by VeriChip partner Receptors LLC, relate to biosensors that can detect the H1N1 and other viruses, and biological threats such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, VeriChip said in a statement.
The technology will combine with VeriChip's implantable radio frequency identification devices to develop virus triage detection systems.
The triage system will provide multiple levels of identification -- the first will identify the agent as virus or non-virus, the second level will classify the virus and alert the user to the presence of pandemic threat viruses and the third level will identify the precise pathogen, VeriChip said in a white paper published May 7, 2009.
Shares of VeriChip were up 186 percent at $3.28 Monday late afternoon trade on Nasdaq. They had touched a year high of $3.43 earlier in the session.

All these things sound like a great idea and great use of technology but like all technology it will most likely be abused and everyone should stand against it or at very least keep its use VERY VERY restricted.

When fewer and fewer people own the lions share of anything, your going to get these kinds of worrying scenarios taking place.
How and why do you think that such an untested drugs and such things as the VeriChip and the Swine Flu get through the standard barriers so quickly, these are the stories we need to know about, but again there is another barrier stopping the majority of the information from perculating through because all the news groups are also part of the same group,
90 % of global wealth is owned by only 7% today, this is where the problems lie, what people need to do is take that establishment apart nut by bolt until the people are once again are in overall power, covenrty like we could become, just like they have been to us over the last 100 years of theft towrds the populations and peoples of the planet.
The bigger the gap gets the harder it gets for them to get away with anything, we all know what happend within the 911 and other current problems, this time we have our very own 39 steps, within the W's3, and our own eyes, they may be watching us most of the time but we are many more eyes watching them,
but its a matter of time before they try to control the W's3 too, new laws are in the pipeline which will allow them to read all of our messaages and e-mail's, which points to another inside job from the singular entity.
If this is the case we are giving and telling them what we are saying and thinking, there is already a computer think tank up and running, this is part of their own IIA, IBI, its only a matter of time before they will be able to turn this part of us on and off at the click of a switch, and when we awake from our obsession with the W's3, they will turn it off completely leaving us completely in the dark from that angle.
If we limit the globalisation of the world they will losse the better part of their control over us, only then will we be able to watch them more closely, as we are today we are far too busy being sqeezed down to size, trying to make ends to meet, while the people in charge walk completely over us without being noticed, but there is some hope if we all start doing for ourselves, start thing for ourselves and most important, take down the immediate barrier with our neighbours and most important of all, stand together.
Pass on the message off line, word of mouth and the barter system is what really frightens them and is the best way to go, as it always was in the past, if we seperate the two technologies it makes it so much harder for them to watch us, we can do it, the word revolution is a dirty word, but resolutions work both ways.

A new world order worse case scenario theory for you :
Remember when I mentioned earlier about the possibility of the clear end at one end of the chip being able to hold enough nasties that could turn out your lights forever, this bit frightens the life out of me, its a scenario like the sky link on the terminator films where the computers are in control, well here we have the perfect way for this to become reality, don't let them put this under your skin folks.
Also if we were all chipped and a scenario that the criminal fraternity will already of thought about and that is one of personal identity theft of the person themselves, this time they won't be after your purse, but what you have under your skin, with the correct tooling IE a sharp knife they can get at it much quicker than trying to pull your purse out of your hands, doesn't bare thinking about,
The chip would not help find missing persons more quickly and it will not stop the crime from being commited, deep enough below ground and its out of range for such a small device, they could make it harder for the criminal to find by placing it in different places, but where there's a chip there's a pin, electronic countermeasures are always available to find such things, it simply won't work for the really determined theif, assasin etc, period.
Its all in the link above, swine flu doesn't even come close as this one.
