That my friend is something you need to work out internally.

A lot of people stumble here. If you love doing it and want to do it for a living then sit down , work out how much you need to live on and charge accordingly.

Your clients will benefit either way. If they go down the road to someone else they'll get charged.

You need to pay your rent/mortgage put food in your belly etc..

I myself got attuned to Reiki 2 a few months back. I feel I want to do it.

Get your duster out and give it a clean.

Have you got any fliers made up you could pop in the newsagents. Just pop your email address on for starters.

What about a space in your house ?

In my opinion I think if you can approach your local health authority they may offer you a room in a clinic somewhere for a small percentage.

I think its the best way to go. Or if your happy then the spare room in your house is great.

If so , get it decorated a neutral colour and put some soft furnishings etc

Then I suppose a very basic website will cost you around £ 40.00 or so. If you get some links to your local health centre and a few other local businesses that are Health related. THen get google listed and off you go.

I'm sure word of mouth from your first few clients will do the trick. ANd you have your business cards printed. Take them everywhere ! Anyone asks you what you do for a living give em your card.

Get 500 done , once you've shelled out the cash to get em printed you know you have to dish them out.

Register yourself as self employed and get your company name registered. Then you need a bookkeeper to handle all your receipts from ahem... non cash customers. (sshhh.... I didn't say that )

Once your legitimate you'll feel like the emperors new clothes and will start walking the walk and talking the talk.


Ok , theres a few ideas ... I rather fancy if both of us are meant to do it then people and opportunities will align and fall into place quite naturally.


I offered a local home for terminally ill kids my services for free about 4 months ago. THey said they'd keep me on file.

Not heard a dickie bird. I'm not going to push it but you'd think a charity would bite your arm off for free therapy would you not ?

I registered to help at our local hospice months ago and they've only just started processing the paperwork (you need to be CRB checked before you can work there). Don't give up hope. :o

How about insurance? Do you think it is important to be part of one of the Federation of Spiritual Healers' type organisations?

The reiki attunement is nothing more than a Self Empowerment tool. We all have the gift to channel the healing energies of the universe, and have done for many millennia, the term 'reiki' is simply the new age name for it.

Many 'masters' (ffs) charge big $ for attuning people into an energy they can already use, and this saddens me because these 'masters' out price the attunement for those who have the gift but simply can't afford it.

i often attune or treat people with reiki and when they ask how much i charge i ask them for a donation, or they often offer to cook tea, which is cool, because there is a huge energy exchange that goes beyond £ changing hands and everyone feels happy. i feel it is a pity that the world doesn't turn like that in others' minds.

Only in so much as it gives clients a peace of mind , but they have nothing to fear anyway we all know that . Reiki cannott harm anyone.


See how much it is , but I wouldn't say its essential.

It's sad that something so natural has to be regulated and practioners have to be insured.

I like where I go for sessions as they have a donation basket outside the room and you can donate what you wish or if you can't afford to donate anything you are not made to feel bad about it. I always notice the basket is overflowing with cash and checks.:)

This is sooo wonderful to hear! My hugest complaint as of late is people asking ridiculous amounts of money for healing services, classes, etc. A trade system sounds soo much better. Check out this website: www.timebanks.org I think this is an awesome concept.
I realize people need to be able to "make a living", but we really need to start thinking out of the box if we truly want to live in a better place. mho

I used to have a regular 'client' who would bring me cucumbers or potatoes that he had grown in his garden. I also had a lovely pot plant once. It seemed so much nicer than money.

I haven't got up the passion/confidence to go into 'business' officially, I also find that I seem (not me, the Universe) to have more success doing Reiki from a distance.
I also agree that everyone can heal, but not all healing comes under the Reiki type pf treatment.
I am near a Buddhist Monastery where they allow spiritual healers to 'heal' others once a month at no cost, any donations go to the Buddhists.

This is precisely the point , people dont believe they can heal themselves using the same energy through concious intention so they need a third party to look to as some kind of miracle worker.

THey then believe in it so strongly that their subconcious mind heals their body by default anyways. THe concious mind puts it down to the practitioner.

All the practitioner does is act as a conduit.

However I will say that the divine energy or intelligent source knows this and so therefore attunement is a bi product.

At least thats my take on it. THe fact that I suggest making a living from it is a means to an end.

If you want to help people full time , then you must pay your bills . unless of course your financially secure allready. THen there really is no need.
