From the horses mouth :
"The BBC is part of a "conspiracy" preventing the "radical changes" needed to UK democracy, the corporation's former director general has said.
Greg Dyke told a Lib Dem conference meeting he wanted a commission to look into the "whole political system".
But he said: "I fear it will never happen because I fear the political class will stop it".

Indeed.. interesting comments Greg Dyke has made about BBC... and the timing of his departure at time of the WMD Dossier and then David Kelly's (very suspect) demise.

"The BBC said its political coverage was taken extremely seriously and was highly regarded by the public."

This pillock was part of the problem until he was sacked.

Actually, the comments he makes sound a tone of truth. Regardless of what one thinks of him, regardless of the myopically-blighted narrowness of vision one perceives him through, his comments still provide a scathing attack on the status quo of the system, and provide a very public opening for a debate on the issue. If we the public do not take it up and run with it, then we are as much to blame for the zeitgeist as we perceive him to be.

That's bullshit. He was punished for his role in the criticism of the Govt during the buildup to the war in Iraq. The reason the majority of people opposed it is because the BBC took a stance.
The rights and wrongs of that are debatable but to say he was just part of the problem is a gross simplification.

Very well expressed! :)
For a start he has used the C word.
"Conspiracy" :eek:
So they do exist! Or at least according to Greg Dyke.
He is telling us that there is a conscious and unified effort to distort truth in favour of a failed agenda.
He is telling us that all the establishment parties are involved.
He is telling us that the BBC is not being impartial.
Okay, maybe most people here were already aware of this, but more important are the millions of comfort zone people who take the word of the BBC as gospel.
This is another reminder of the David Kelly tragedy. Another reminder that Tony Blair lied to the nation and deliberately led Britain into a war on false premises; and he was prepared to murder anyone who got in his way.

I actually think that these are strong words for an ex-establishment figure, I wonder why it's taken him so long to speak up but better late than never IMO.
If Katie Price doesn't get herself pregnant again soon...goodness knows what else might slip out into the news...:D

The Royal Charter of the BBC, & the Treason & Felony Act, 1848
The BBC has received and is now receiving substantial amounts
of funding from the European Union, in breach of Charter Provisions,
and that in consequence of this very suspect arrangement the BBC
is now reduced to the function of providing both broadcasting
& propaganda facilities to a form of alien authority that fails to
acknowledge the Supreme Authority of the British Crown.
all such conduct serves to breach the provisions of the
Treason Act, 1351 with the further provisions of the
Treason & Felony Act, 1848.
The Treason & Felony Act of 1848 provides that it is a
Criminal Offence for Subjects of the Crown to give aid
or comfort to Traitors, and that this offence is punishable
by imprisonment for life.

Huh?
'Racism', as a concept, is blind to colour.
'hideously white' and 'hideoulsy black', are equally racist.
Full stop.

though I do get what the guy means...
anyway, glad greg the pegs decided to speak out, one more bit of validation for us, and another bit of news that will likely fly over the heads of many

He should have a word with Tam Dalyell
In 2003 Dalyell stated in an interview with the American magazine Vanity Fair that Prime Minister Tony Blair was unduly influenced by a "cabal of Jewish advisers." He specifically named Lord Levy who was Blair's official representative in the Middle East and Labour Party (UK) politicians Peter Mandelson (whose father was Jewish) and Jack Straw (whose great-grandfather was Jewish). He denied accusations that the remarks were anti-Semitic.[2][3][4] In March 2003, regarding the 2003 invasion of Iraq, Dalyell accused the then Prime Minister Tony Blair of being a war criminal. Stating, "...since Mr Blair is going ahead with his support for a US attack without unambiguous UN authorisation, he should be branded as a war criminal and sent to The Hague.". [5]
