I seen that you can 'ozonate' drinking water. Believed to be good at killing germs and purifying? Has anyone done this?

Heres an ozonater-

Your opinions?

I haven't looked into it, but isn't ozone a free radical? Free radicals are the last thing you want more of inside your body, and that's why I eat anti-oxidants like candy.

Hi rowantk,

I had actually done a lot of research in the late 90's about ozone and H2O2, which led to my opting to purchase and take food grade H2O2 orally for a couple of months. I had been extremely fatigued, phlegmy, and depressed. Within 2 days I was out excersizing again and feeling much better. The plegm and dampness cleared soon thereafter and the depression became a thing of the past. I still take it as I feel it's needed - when I'm run down or feeling like I'm coming down with something. I have, in my freezer, a liter bottle of 35% food grade H2O2 (from the health food store. Apparently since 911 you can only get 12% for some stupid reason) which I carefully (nasty burns if not) put into a dropper bottle which I also keep in the freezer.

Here's how I did it based on recommendations I found online in a number of places:

First only ingest H2O2 on an empty stomach or it will react with food and cause upset. I took it first thing in the morning and planned not to eat for an hour, then before bed, at least 3 hours or so after dinner

1st day: one drop in 8 oz. of water
2nd day: two drops in 8 oz of water

Continue adding one drop/day until you experience nausea or queasiness after taking it. On your next dose back down by one drop and remain with that # of drops for as long as you feel you'd like. You may find that you crave more than you're taking at times, or less if that's the case. Go with it. Again, you'll know if you're taking too much if you get queasy.

So, my understanding of the skinny on free radicals is: Hydrogen and Oxygen are the Yin/Yang of our bodies from a biochemical perspective. Hydrogen is Yin, Solid and doesn't go away. A Hydrogen free radical remains solid and stays in your body. It just transforms into something that your body is not accustomed to and doesn't know what to do with. An Oxygen free radical (Yang/gasous) only exists for literally a split second or less - as it oxygenates the anerobic environment that it is introduced to. The it's gone...just like that.

H2O2(and O3 - ozone) have one extra molecule of Oxygen, making it very unstable. As the H2O2 comes into contact with anything anerobic(lacking oxygen) such as bacteria, virus, fungus, tumor etc., the extra oxygen molecule readily and immediately releases to oxygenate the anerobic stuff.

The free radical exists for only the instant that the extra oxygen molecule is released. Once the chemical bond initiates there is no more free radical.

I had spoken to folks (my doc and dentist included) about what I was doing, and got the same "dangerous free radical" reply. It became clear that there was an "official story" was that it was a bad thing. Of course. Big Pharma cant patent ozone or H2O2 and make a killing on it. Plus it really is good for you - so again why would TPTB want it out that it's a good thing.

Please research on your own. I have no time right now to look for links. But, it will be well worth your while. I swear if I could have only one medicine in my house, it would be H2O2 in a 50 gallon drum in the basement . I also use a few drops (4-6) in my netti pot which is very invigorating and real good for your sinuses and upper respiratory.

Plus , H2O2 is super cheap - a big bang for your buck.

Have fun, I hope this was useful to you.

Wow! Thanks for the information. It seems very interesting. The way you have done it is different to the way Ive seen in the video I watched. But as you say I will have to look into it :)

Yeah, check it out. I was re-reading the thread and realized that the "anti-oxidant" term seemed to confuse. Something I once read stated that as we age, our bodies "rust" or oxidate. Thus, antioxidants to reduce or slow down that process.

Dilute with distilled water to a 3% solution before you add it to your drinling water. If you make a mistake with the 35% solution you have a problem.

There is a great book called the ph-miracle which highly recommends hydrogen peroxide (h2o2) to balance your ph. It worth wile reading it. It gives clear instructions as to how many drops a day and in what solution.

But the ozone thingie looked pretty interesting as well. I too would like to know if anyone is using it or knows more about it....

There seems to be a few machines on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/600-mgh-Ozone-Generator-Air-Water-Oil-Ozonator-Ozon_W0QQitemZ220480019541QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_De faultDomain_0?hash=item3355a21c55&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

This way seems a safer way of doing it? Rather than using the solution?

That looks more versatile than using straight H2O2 - and more cost effective.
