I think not too many people in this forum know about it:

The line of God-Emperors has moved to the Roman Empire, but it did not stay there for long. The Emperor Constantine the Great had moved the capital of the empire to another city - Constantinople. With a time, West Roman Empire with Rome became less of an interest to the rulers of the empire and fall off, although even as late as the fifth century, their emperors were approved in the East, in what we call an East Roman Empire, or Byzantine.
Byzantine stood a very long time and witnessed the rise of Islam and Crusaders. Eventually - with the help of Crusaders and Catholic Church - it has fallen. The last Byzantine Emperor Constantine XI did not have children, but his brother - Thomas Paeologue - did. His daughter, Sophia (Zoe) Paeologue married Ivan III of Russia on November 12, 1472 in an Uspensky Sobor (Temple) in Moscow. Together with her husband they've built on the idea of Moscow as a Third Rome. Her son, Vasilii (Basileus) III continued in this direction, and her grandson Ivan IV the Terrible was the first Russian monarch to assume the title of csar (tsar) - "Caesar". Thus began the Imperial Russia.
It may sound as some complicated genealogical mumbo-jumbo for a Westerner, but if an Ancient Egyptian would look at it, it would mean just one thing for him - the line of God-Emperors survived the fall of Egypt and ended up ruling the Russian Empire. If you have any doubts, compare the Egyptian drawing of the god (and the first pharaoh) Horus (as a falcon) and the 19th century official seal ("gerb") of the Russian Empire:
Two birds of prey in the same pose with the same symbols of status and power. Only the disk of Sun evolved into the crown, but otherwise essentially the same.
Of course, it looks like the line of Russian Emperors was interrupted in the earlier XX century. However, the sun still raises over the horizon every morning. For an Ancient Egyptian it would mean just one simple thing: somewhere, somehow, the line of God-Emperors survived providing Ra an incentive to fight each day for the very existence of our world. Where is he now, the modern incarnation of Horus and Osiris? Did they flee the country in the 20th Century or still live somewhere in the vast land that was ruled by their forefathers? Who knows?...
