Today we traveled from Spain to Holland with two cats. I wondered, suppose one would have walked out of the car at f.i. a gasstation. What should we have done to find her back through the chip?
Who do you contact. If that is the goal of the chip(yes we now better)why aren´t there telephonenumbers in the so called pasports of the pets....
Did that at all ever happen? I can´t imagine.
So that might be a good question to people wo think that our ¨leaders¨are soooo concerned about our lost pets.

I work at an animal hospital and we get a lot of stray cats and dogs in every month. Around 50 give or take. We scan each of them for a chip and are able to match all chipped pets back to their owners 99% of the time. Unchipped pets are traced back to the owners maybe half the time. It doesn't work like GPS where you can track your animal, they have to be found by someone and scanned for a chip.
