HIRAM ABIFF: SYMBOLIC OF THE BLACK MAN IN AMERICA

By Fahim A. Knight-EL

Freemasonry as many may know is a very vague and complex subject and this writer doesn't think you can exhaust the depth and/or magnitude of this topic in a 5000 word article or by writing a huge number of manuscripts; it is just to extensive of a subject for any one writer or body of researchers to claim absolute and complete definitiveness. It is much larger than the Masonic Scholars such as: Albert Pike, Jacob Boehme, Manly P. Hall, Albert Churchward, Albert G. Mackey, Edward Arthur Waite, Prince Hall, Francis Bacon, John Yarker, Joseph Walkes, JSM Ward, J.D. Buck, Robert MaCoy, George Oliver, W.L. Wilmshurst, John Robinson, Frantz Hartmann, James Morgan, Robert Taylor, Kersey Graves, Gerald Massey, Watten Scott, Alvin Boyd Khun, G.R.S Mead, Thomas Taylor, Spencer H. Lewis, H.P. Blavatsky, J. Van Rijckenbough, Edouard Schure, etc. The speculative science and social science of studying Freemasonry as a discipline is wide opened for various scientific, as well as creative interpretations and analysis based on the subject being rooted in symbolism, metaphors, allegory, similes, expressed in parables, understood in the esoteric, viewed in the metaphysical and made intelligible by its sublime rituals. What then is Freemasonry? According to most of the Masonic authorities; defined, “Masonry as a beautiful system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols” (Reference: Manly P. Hall; “Secret Teachings of All Ages”).

This writer was recently contacted via email by a gentleman named Wayne T. Muhammad, this writer is assuming that he was a Muslim, but he had a deep interest in an article that this writer had written titled, "Freemasonry (Moslem Sons) and Islam What Do They Share?" This author wrote the article approximately three years ago (2005), but he did not web publish the article until December 2007 and by far, it has been one of my most celebrated writings, which has received tremendous attention from scholars, Freemasons, Muslims, non-Muslims and just from ordinary people who may have interest in alternative historical views and/or enjoy New Age type subjects. (Reference: Fahim A. Knight-EL; "Freemasonry (Moslem Sons) and Islam What Do They Share?").

There is really no correct and/or incorrect way to explore and approach a Speculative Masonic topic; Speculative Masonry must-be clearly delineated from Operative Masonry—the former is best associated with Masonic intellectual ideas and philosophical interpretations (the Seven Liberal Arts—astronomy, music, geometry, arithmetic, logic, rhetoric and grammar) and the latter is best linked with Guild Workers (seen in the five schools of architect—Doric, Ionic, Composite, Tuscan, Corinthian and the physical sciences of building. Thus, from this understanding and thought, this writer would first ask the readers to reason with me as I pursue some of the history of Hiram Abiff who was perhaps the greatest Grand Master of the Masonic theory and one of the essential and key foundation blocks upon which Freemasonry rest upon. (Reference: Henry Wilson Coil; “Coil’s Masonic Encyclopedia”).

The history and legend of Grand Master Hiram Abiff gives life and meaning to Freemasonry as a fraternity and as a philosophical school of thought. A. E. Waite, in his “New Encyclopedia of Freemasonry”, makes the following comment: "The legend of the Master-Builder is the great allegory of Masonry. It happens that his figurative story is grounded in the fact of a personality mentioned in Holy Scripture, but this historical background is of the accidents and not the essence; the significance is in the allegory and in any point of history which may lie behind it.” (Reference: A. E. Waite; “New Encyclopedia of Freemasonry’).

This writer had actually started writing this article perhaps over ten (10) years ago, which he had explained to Mr. Wayne Muhammad and after having numerous email communications with him, he sparked enough of my curiosity to revisited this subject and offer it as a finished scholarly product. Muhammad was actually doing some research of his own, but this writer never asked exactly what he was doing; this writer just offered him the assistance that he requested. However, looking metaphorically at the Masonic character Hiram Abiff from the standpoint of an allegorical legend; there is no doubt, that one could draw a direct and plausible parallel between the Hiram Abiff legend and the history of Africans (African American experience and their 450 year sojourn in America) that were brought from the continent of Africa as slaves to the Americas. (Reference: Alauddin Shabazz; “Symbolism, Holidays, Myths and Signs”).

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad in a work edited by Nasir Makr Hakim titled, “The True History of Master Fard Muhammad” quoted Muhammad as stating, “The Masonic ritual of the death of Hiram, the Widow son, has no record in the great light of Masonry, the Bible. It is the symbolic reminder of the deviltry carried on by the devil in most recent history. This part of the Masonic ritual was added in 1725, along with the book of the Masonic Constitution prepared by the Rev. Jones Anderson. The proof of the absence of the story in their Bible as a true happening may be found in the Bible 1st Kings 7th chapter, 13th verse. You will see there that Hiram finished the work he was suppose to do for Solomon, yet according to the ritual of the third degree (death of Hiram) you will notice that Hiram was still putting work on the trestle board for the fellow craftsmen when he was attacked by the Ruffians: Jubelo, Jebula, Jubelum. These three are symbolized as ENGLAND, FRANCE and AMERICA”. (Reference: Nasir Makr Hakim; “The True History of Master Fard Muhammad”).

Muhammad continues, “The east gate is Africa, the west gate is the West Indies, and the north comer of the Temple is North America. The U.S.A., England, and France did enslave the Black man, but America is the one who killed him, by fixing him so he would not have any knowledge of himself, and then gave him the name Negro and buried him in the graveyard of the King James version of the Bible. The fact that he was hit in the head with a setting maul shows that in the head he died, so that he is mentally dead. Because of this fact, a name was made up for him from the Greek language to fit him (Necro) also spelled (Negro), this word means dead. However, the Germanic inflection in the mixed tongues, the "C," was pronounced as a "G," and Necro became Negra in the south and Negro in the north of the country”. (Reference: Nasir Makr Hakim; “The True History of Master Fard Muhammad”).

The Holy Qur’an in a chapter (Sura) titled, "AL NUR: The Light " gives these profound and beautiful words stated, “Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth. A likeness of His light is a pillar on which is a lamp—the lamp is in a glass, the glass is as it were a brightly shinning star—lit from blessed olive-tree, neither eastern nor western, the oil whereof gives light, though fire touch it not—light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He pleases. And Allah sets forth parables for men, and Allah is Knower of all things.”(Reference: Muhammad Ali: Holy Qur’an translation Sura 24:35 subtitled, “Manifestation of Divine Light”)

This writer researched and found some very interesting words from a speech delivered by Minister Louis Farrakhan, leader of Nation of Islam back on October 30, 1983 at Morgan State University in Baltimore Maryland. This article will heavily reference and use citations from the teachings of the Nation of Islam's history, theology and worldview in order to present this subject on Hiram Abiff and its correlation to the black experience in America. The Nation of Islam is perhaps the only organization that has consistently taught on and drawn this parallel between Hiram Abiff and the black man and black woman in America. The majority of the black Masonic Lodges in the United States are oblivious to this connection because even after many of them are raised in the Blue Lodge—they still lack the knowledge of self. (Reference: Malachi Z. York; “The Problem Book”).

Their counterpart the Caucasian Masonic brethren truly know and understand that this symbolic history has a much deeper meaning than the obvious and truly know who Hiram Abiff represents in the scheme of history and it is this covert duality that this writer will partially be focusing on. There is always the question that posed to the Masonic traveler: Which way are you are traveling? “The answer; is giving ordinarily from this perspective; “I am traveling from East to West in search of light (or more) light in Masonry.” It is this premise that will set the basis of my thesis relative to the African American Masons, which the largest and majority belongs to the Prince Hall Masonic body known as Free and Accepted Masons (F&AM), but there are others who are members of white Masonic lodges known as Ancient Free and Accepted Masons (AF&AM). The East is the home of the Asiatic Black man in which all knowledge and wisdom originated; therefore, when asked that question which way are you are traveling; he should state, “I am already at home the East is where all the ancient wisdom originated and there is no need for me to travel from the East to the West in search of light.” (Reference: Joseph Walkes; “Black Square and Compass: 200 Years of Prince Hall Freemasonry”).

Farrakhan stated: stated: “Dear beloved this is your time. You are more than what you think you are. So let me take the next few minutes to say these few words to you about you. You see you have thought all these years that you were nothing because you were Black, and you felt you were Black cause you were cursed. But you did not know that you are the original people of the Earth, and I will defy the scholars, the geneticists, the biologists, the historians, the anthropologists, to disprove that if the Black man were not here you have no source for your life. We are your fathers and your mothers and you have dishonored the very people that have produced you. No, no, it's not racism it's just fact. You know that their fathers taught you history, mathematics, philosophy, medicine, law, government, every discipline their fathers gave to your fathers when you were uncivilized in Europe on your all fours. It was a black man that brought you up out of that condition. This is the thanks we get. You have robbed your own people of correct knowledge that would have allowed young White students to have a genuine appreciation for Blacks. You would not teach your own the value of these Black people, though you go in secret in your Masonic lodges and in your shrines and you learn about us behind the closed doors. (Reference: Louis Farrakhan speeches edited by Joseph D. Eure and Richard Jerome; “Farrakhan, Back Where We Belong: Selected Speeches by Louis Farrakhan”).

Farrakhan continues: You talk about you want integration, you want to integrate Morgan into the University of Maryland, but you will not integrate the Black Masons and Shriners into your white shrines and your White Masonry. You won't integrate that, and the mason you won't integrate that is because you know that the Black Masons have oleo and you have got butter. You know that in your lodge you are studying about Hiram, and they don't know that they are Hiram, the master architect that got hit in the head, carried away and buried in the North corner in a shallow grave where no light shines. But someone came to raise him up and didn't have the proper grip, it took a master grip to pull him up because he's a master and he needs a master to pull up a master. All of that is talking about you, the Prodigal Son, the lost sheep, the people of God, the people that the book says would be in bondage in a strange land for 400 years, but after that time God would come after you and raise you up and make a nation out of you, and make you leaders in the Earth. This is what they don't want you to know, that you are to supplant their rule because their time is up, their rule is wicked and unjust. The Bible says this is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our sight. Only God could take a foolish people and confound the wise. He would take a people that were no people at all and He would bring to naught the things which are by the things which have no existence. Here you are a people of no existence, a people that the world has brought to naught and here these sophisticated men of science who study how to psyche the mind and mess up the public and guide them like sheep, but their stuff don't work anymore on the foolish people. (Reference: Louis Farrakhan speeches edited by Joseph D. Eure and Richard Jerome; “Farrakhan, Back Where We Belong: Selected Speeches by Louis Farrakhan”).

The hidden truth behind the symbolic and mythological character Hiram Abiff is perhaps the foremost world's best kept secret. The master Masons or third degree recite the history of Grand Master Hiram Abiff as the culmination of the Masonic lessons (there is really no degree higher than the Master Mason Degree). They say Hiram Abiff was/is the greatest Mason ever known, thus he was slain prior to completing the building of King Solomon's Temple. His death was premeditated by fifteen fellow crafts. They saw that the temple was about to be completed and wanted to obtain the secrets of a Master Mason. Knowing these secrets would allow them to travel in foreign countries and receive master's wages. So the fellow crafts conspired to extort the secrets from the Grand Master Hiram Abiff, or take his life. But reflecting with horror on the atrocity of the crime twelve of them recanted; the other three (Jubela, Jubelo and Jubelum) persisted in their murderous designs. (Reference: JSM Ward; “Who is Hiram Abiff?”).

Hiram Abiff in truth represents the Black man in North America today. The European nations such as the United Kingdom, America, France, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Belgian, etc., historically these white world government plotted against Africa and committed one of the greatest crimes ever recorded in the history of humanity—their vicious and inhumane roles in Chattel Slavery (1555-1865) and the Middle Passage, which led to the social, economic, and political demise of Africa and its people. But America, France, and England are the hidden under the Masonic symbolical names Jubela, Jubelo and Jubelum which was foretold by the prophets of old. It was Jewish conspirators who opposed Hiram Abiff and the construction plans of King Solomon's Temple. Elijah Muhammad stated, (Reference: Elijah Muhammad; “The Secret Teachings of Freemasonry”).

In 1555, when the slave ship named Jesus of Leubek voyaged out from the West coast of Africa, it represented a demise in the history, culture and social life for the Grand Master Africans or Black man and woman of the world. The Asiatic Black man held the blue prints to human civilizations in their heads. The Grand Master Hiram Abiff according to the legend was slain at high twelve (or high noon); this is not just necessarily talking about the position of the physical Sun, although the Sun plays a huge part in where the Worshipful Master’s station is in the East, Senior Warden (West) and Junior Warden (South) all of these symbolic stations have a direct correlation to how the Sun Rise and Fall. But this allegory had a much more profound interpretation, as representing and an indication of a people that was at the pinnacle of civilization and became displaced. (Reference: John G. Jackson; “Man, God and Civilization”).

The entire system of Freemasonry is much older than the date of 1717, it can be traced back thousands years to African (black) people in Kemet (Ancient Egypt) perhaps the greatest civilization ever recorded in the history of humanity; had set-up the Egyptian Mystery Schools where neophytes were initiated in the high sciences of those who had constructed the great pyramids. Kemet (Egypt) fed Greece and Roman, the great Greek philosophers—Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Pythagoras, etc., sat either directly or indirectly at the foot of wise African Sages and from that knowledge of Kemet (Egypt) they enlightened all of Europe. (Reference: George G.M. James; “Stolen Legacy”).

The Kemitic (Egyptians) had mastered science, medicine, architect, art, philosophy chemistry, religion (spirituality), etc. The story of Hiram Abiff, the Widow’s Son was borrowed from the ancient story of Osiris (Asar), Isis (Aset), and Horus (Huru); (the Father, Son and Holy Ghost)—the birth, death, resurrection and ascension that we attribute to Hiram Abiff, it was actually predated by some thousands of years by the Osirian Myth, even before the advent of Isa bin Yusuf or Yeshua ben Yosef (better known in the West as Jesus Christ—the so-called Son of God). These legends are rooted in the Sun God and Solar God concepts. For example, right-minded historians and social scientists have traced these rituals and customs back to the worship of the Winter Solstice and Summer Solstice; in fact Kersey Graves in his monumental book titled, “The World Sixteen Crucified Saviors” he listed at least sixteen World Saviors that had the exact same identical advents attributed to their lives that we have associated with Yeshua ben Yosef (Jesus the son of Joseph). (Reference John G. Jackson; “Introduction to African Civilization”).

These folklore and mythological stories are rooted in lessons of the immortality of the soul. This is no more evident than when a Master Mason is raised from a dead level to a living perpendicular on the square—90 degrees upright. Hiram Abiff—born, died, resurrected and ascended and the Masonic legend owes its origin to Kemet (Ancient Egypt) this is where the mythological teachings originated. This writer has an audio tape of Dr. Chancellor Williams author of the book “Destruction of Black Civilization” gave a talk titled, “Christianity Before Christ” (yes there was Christianity before Christ) and he too delved into the World Saviors that predated the birth of Christianity. The Honorable Elijah Muhammad asked perhaps the most essential question: Who is the original man? Answer: The Asiatic Black man the maker, the owner, the cream of the planet earth father of civilization, God of the Universe. (Reference: Naim Akbar; “Know Thy Self”).

It is taught in the Masonic ritual that Hiram Abiff’s usual practice at that hour, while the craft were from labor to refreshment, to enter into the unfinished 'Sanctum Sanctorum, or Holy of Holies' of the Temple and there offer up his adoration to the Deity and draw his designs on the trestle board. The three fellow crafts who persisted in their murderous designs, knowing this to be his usual practice, placed themselves at the South, West, and east gates of the inner courts of the temple, and there awaited his (Hiram Abiff) return. The Grand Master, Hiram Abiff, having finished his usual exercises, attempted to retire by the South gate when he was accosted by Jubela, who thrice demanded of him the secrets of a master Mason, or the master's word, and on his being refused, gave him a blow the twenty-four inch gage across the throat. Allen Roberts states, "when a man's throat is silenced, it is difficult to carry on his activities efficiently. Too often the enemy will endeavor to destroy freedom of speech." (Reference: Allen E. Roberts; “The Craft and its Symbols: Opening the Door to Masonic Symbolism”) and Malcolm Duncan: “Duncan’s Ritual of Freemasonry”).

Hiram Abiff fled and attempted to pass out at the West gate where he was accosted by Jubelo, who in like manner, demanded of him the secrets of a master Mason, or the master's word, and on his being refused, gave him a blow with the square across on his breast. Mr. Robert states, "others will try to maim a person with blows to the heart. The heart is not only a vital organ, but symbolically holds all that is good or divine in man." By dulling or killing this divine light, man becomes useless. Hiram Abiff after this blow across the chest he fled, and attempted to make his escape out at the east gate, where he was accosted by Jubelum, who, in like manner, thrice demanded the secrets of a master Mason, or the master's word. And his like refusal Jebelum dealt him a violent blow with the setting-maul on his forehead, which killed him dead on the spot. Mr. Roberts states, "a blow to the head, or brain, is the worst that man can suffer. It destroys freedom of thought. This creates ignorance. Where there is ignorance, there is despotism. A few control the many. These few use the majority as pawns in their quest for power and more power." (Reference: Allen E. Roberts; “The Craft and its Symbols: Opening the Door to Masonic Symbolism”) and Malcolm Duncan: “Duncan’s Ritual of Freemasonry”).

The Ruffians buried the body in the rubbish of the temple until low twelve or twelve at night, when they met by agreement and carried it a Westerly course from the Temple to the brown of a hill West of Mount Moriah where they buried it in a grave dug due east and West, six feet perpendicular, at the head planted an acacia (evergreen plant), in order The body of our Grand Master was buried three times: first, in the rubbish of the Temple; secondly, on the brow of a hill West of Mount , Moriah; and thirdly and lastly, as near the "Sanctum Sanctorum, or Holy of Holies," of King Solomon's Temple, as the Jewish law would permit; and Masonic tradition informs us that there was erected to his memory a Masonic monument, consisting of "a beautiful virgin, weeping over a broken column; before her was a book open; in her right hand a spring of acacia, in her left an urn; behind her stands Time, unfolding and counting the ringlets of her hair." The beautiful virgin weeping over the broken column denoted the unfinished state of the Temple, likewise the untimely death of our Grand Master, Hiram Abiff; the book open before her, that his virtues lay on perpetual record; the spring of acacia in her right hand, the divinity of the body; the urn in her left, that his ashes were therein safely deposited, under the "Sanctum Sanctorum, or Holy of Holies," of King Solomon's Temple. (Reference: Allen E. Roberts; “The Craft and its Symbols: Opening the Door to Masonic Symbolism”) and Malcolm Duncan: “Duncan’s Ritual of Freemasonry”).

The true Secret Relationship Between Blacks and Jews had its inception rooted in the history of King Solomon. Imam Mustafa El-Amin in his ground breaking research and whom I am so gratefully indebted to authored perhaps two of the most definitive books on Freemasonry titled, “Freemasonry: Ancient Egypt and the Islamic Destiny” and “Islam, Christianity and Freemasonry” as far as analyzing Freemasonry from a Muslim and Islamic perspective; he stands as a pioneer on the subject. EL-Amin characterized the three Conspirators as Jewish Ruffians—Jubela , Jubelo and Jubelum symbolize a gamut of allegorical ideas and cannot be limited to one definitive interpretation. The Biblical the Jews historical opposed the ministry Yeshua Ben Josef (Jesus Christ) who was of African descent (a Nubian Hebrew Israelite); in like manner EL-Amin maintained they were the ones who conspired against mythological Hiram Abiff and more importantly opposed the prophet-hood of Solomon, who was sent by Allah. The Jewish Ruffians used the same tools i.e., 24-inch gauge, square, and setting ;maul, thus the same tools used in traveling the first three degrees--l) Entered Apprentice, 2 ) Fellow Craft, 3) Master Mason which were used on two levels i.e., physical construction and spiritual transformation. But the same tools became instruments of physical and spiritual destruction. It teaches us that there is some Ruffian behavior in all of us and oftentimes larceny just lies dormant. (Reference: Mustafa El-Amin; “Freemasonry: Ancient Egypt and the Islamic Destiny”).

The Hiram Abiff mythology is based on murderous conspiracy, thievery, lies, extortion, and deception in which the Black man became the victim of this historical assault and atrocities. The Europeans who came to Africa hit the black man (African) in the throat rendering them ineffective in communicating their language, history, culture, norms, folkways, mores, etc., robbed them of the knowledge of self and stripped them of their native tongue—language is the life blood to a people’s connection to a culture and a heritage. Moreover, there were no one present who could articulate the pain and suffering of the poor widow's sons and daughters. This is why history produced a Nat Turner, David Walker, Demark Vesey, Bishop McNeil Turner, Marcus Mosiah Garvey, Noble Drew Ali, Elijah Muhammad, Wali Fard Muhammad, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Louis Farrakhan, etc., these uncompromising leaders reached down in our oppression with the Master Grip and Lion Paw and sought to raised the black man from his social predicament. They were ordained by God to seek freedom, justice and equality for the Asiatic Black man. The European Slave Makers systematically divided the Africans on the slave ships, as well as on the slave plantations whom he recognized were of the same ethnic family. He did not want all Wolof, Ashanti, Mandinkas, Hausas, Fulani, lbo, Ewe etc., communicating amongst each other—with the same tongue (language has the potential to unify people) because of the danger it posed for the conspirators. They strategically cut off our language power. And now the Black man throughout the Diaspora only speaks his colonizers language. Thus this is the first blow that symbolical Hiram suffered; is there no help for the poor widow's son? (Reference: Mustafa El-Amin; “Islam, Christianity and Freemasonry”).

The square across the chest of Hiram Abiff symbolizes that the Black man and woman was struck by the Slave Makers who desired to make us like themselves—heartless and without love for self and humanity (from my study, a Mason is first made a Mason in their Heart). The Slave masters history is written in blood (kidnap, rape, and murder). They removed the good spirits and souls of the Black man and replaced them with false spiritual inclinations, self hatred, self-denial, dependency and more devastating gave us a White Jesus (God) to place next to our wanting hearts. We must work to recapture the humanity and self-dignity bestowed on us by the Supreme Being. Some of our behavior today is a direct result of what took place yesterday, but psychological repression perhaps dictates some of our present day behavior as a nation—black and white. (Reference: Zachery P. Gremillion: “African Origin of Freemasonry”).

Muhammad stated, “90% of the ministers of the Protestant world are members of the Masonic order, and is something to be appalled at when you know what is going on in the Masonic Lodge, especially when we see that he is a Mason, and is a follower of the devil in their rituals. 1 am speaking of the devils, the Black preachers, the Catholic Church, the so-called holy and otherwise, have their own form of worship of Allah (the Blackman) in such orders as the Knights of Columbus, and the order of Alhambra. Let us consider the Protestant minister who darns the drawer and cable tow and hoodwink of the Masonic brotherhood. Here we see a man who teaches the people of his audience the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ, and that the people must be baptized in the name of the Father, the son and the Holy Ghost (whatever that is). They must believe that Jesus died for their sins. Yet, he goes to the Masonic lodge and declares himself to be a poor blind traveler searching for the light with a rope around his neck in bondage. Within the lodge he takes part in rituals that purposely exclude the name of Jesus, and his title "Son of God" and secretly darn the Fez worn by those who believe that only (Allah) is to be worshipped. The very next Sunday, there he is back in church telling the ignorant people about how Jesus died for their sins. What kind of crazy hypocrisy is this? He teaches about that loving God who gave His son to die for the people and at the same time the minister wears the ring of a traveling man.” (Reference: Nasir Makr Hakim; “The True History of Master Fard Muhammad”).

Their social scientist can give explanations about every pathological aspect of human behavior, but refuses to acknowledge that slavery was a criminal act and it is this denial that will continue to create racial and social tension, in particular in the United States. The United States after 400 years of oppression, racism and human injustice has never even had a serious national discussion relative to race. This writer believes that African people today suffers from Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome. Those nations that participated in this crime are guilty as charged, but none of their commercial shrinks with their psychological analysis and empirical research data models, have ever spoken about the effect that 310 years of slavery had on the psychological and social development of Black people. Our hearts were sacred until these wicked conspirators brought their foreign and alien culture to the purest people to have ever walked upon the face of the earth and took them as captives. (Reference: Asa G. Hilliard, III; “The Reawaking of the African Mind”).

The final blow to Hiram Abiff was that he was hit in the head with a setting maul in which killed the Master Builder. The Slave Makers stripped the Asiatic Black man of the knowledge of self and literally stole the minds of our African ancestors. This perhaps was the most devastating blow, not only to Hiram Abiff, it was this blow to the head that rendered the Grand Master dead and when you kill a peoples mind (mind is god) and rob them of their humanity—there is nothing more crippling. The Asiatic Black man even in 2008 has yet too psychologically, socially, politically, and economically recuperate from the long term affect of the blow 450 years ago. This blow left African people with historical amnesia (many of them forgot from whence they came). This is why we unconditionally accepted an imposter White Jesus as being God and is drunk off European Christianity because we are out of our minds; we must work to recapture the African mind. Yes, this writer is sorry to inform you that Christianity is the slave master’s religion. (Reference: Naim Akbar; “Chains and Images of Psychological Slavery”).

The African mind is the one that built the pyramids, who also advanced the ideas in mathematics, medicine, astronomy, architecture, agriculture, religion, spirituality, etc. That blow to Hiram's (Black man and woman) head is what made us Negroes or 'the walking dead.' The black Masonic scholars lack the knowledge of self and they are constantly looking to be led by white Masonic Scholars which to write the philosophy and history of Speculative Freemasonry for them. Elijah Muhammad said of all the knowledge that one can acquire; there is none more valuable than acquiring the knowledge of self. He also, said my teachings can be summed up in six words “accept your own and be yourself.” Historians and anthropologist have stated that inscribed and in written in the language of Metu Neter (Hieroglyphics) on all the walls of the pyramids stated, “MAN KNOW THY SELF”. (Reference: Elijah Muhammad; “The Message to the Blackman in America”).

The tribe of Judah must roar once again. Mr. Roberts stated: "It is claimed that Solomon was once symbolic of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. An emulation of his merits, philosophy, love of God, and wisdom will assure his followers of an exemplary life in this world. While living as Solomon did, any man will be able to the grim tyrant of death, and receive him as a kind messenger sent from our Supreme Grand Master, to translate us from this imperfect, to that all perfect, glorious, and celestial lodges above

In all of the Masonic and Shriners travels, they are never going to expose us to true interpretations of what the symbolism really means. Many of the 32ND and 33rd Degree Masons that are Shriners, in particular the Black ones, do not even know where Egypt and Saudi Arabia are on the world map. They are strictly caught up in lodge ritualism and perhaps think that the geographical place in which the Order speaks of does not exist in present day terms. I am not foolish to think and believe that the people who are occupying Egypt and Arabia today are the original people who built world civilization. The Arabs and the Jews are imposters—supplants who have stolen our original birthrights for their own. Dr. Chancellor Williams eloquently writes about this in his book, Destruction of Black Civilization, "these imposters pushed the dark skinned Kimites into Southern Egypt, as well as into Sudan and back down to Ethiopia." (Reference: Chancellor Williams; “Destruction of Black Civilization”).

The Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches us: "Why isn't the devil settled on the best part of the planet Earth? Answer, because the earth belongs to the original Black man and knowing that the devil was wicked and there would not be any peace among them. He put him out in the worst part of the earth and ke)}t the best preserved for himself ever since he made it. The best part is in Arabia at the holy City Mecca. The colored man or Caucasian is the devil. Arabia is in the far east and is boarded by the Indian Ocean on the South.”. (Elijah Muhammad: “The Student Enrollment lessons”).

The best part of the earth, teaches the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, is Mecca (which is North East Africa) and the Muslim Sons (Shriners) and the Muslim followers of Islam are taught to turn to the East for enlightenment and spiritual guidance. But even as they turn symbolically to the mothers and fathers of civilizations they do not realize that Saudi Arabia is a Black country.

Ben Ammi's original Hebrew Israelite Nation agrees with the Honorable Elijah Muhammad's historical contentions as they relate to the so-called Middle East and Africa. The Hebrews ask the question: The Middle East or Northeast Africa? Geographically, the "Middle East" makes absolutely no sense in our contemporary understanding of the region. It is a term that was imposed during the days of England's domination of world affairs, and which reflects their Euro-centric perspective. Voyages to that was/is known as the "Far East" (China, Japan, the Orient, etc.) required passing through the region; hence, they called it the "Middle East." Though the sun has long set on the British Empire, the deceptive term remains etched on the maps and minds of the world. Yet, it is simply impossible to depict Africa on a map without Israel and the surrounding land being squarely situated in the Northeastern Quadrant, hence our insistence upon Northeastern Africa. (Reference: Ben Ammi and Ahamadiel Ben-Yehuda; “A Viewer’s Guide to the African/Edenic Heritage Museum: Exploring the African Presences in the Promise Land”).

So, the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of Mystic Shrine are turning toward the Northeastern African continent for moral and spiritual guidance, but the Black man has been intellectually duped because of his ignorance of world history and thinks the Masonic traveling ritual is pointing to some mulatto imposter Arab of Mecca and Egypt and do not know it is talking about him the original man—God. You are that biblical stone written about in the book of 1 Peter 2: 6-9, which stated, “Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, behold, I lay a Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth in him shall not be confounded. Unto you therefore which believe he is precious; but unto them which is disobedient, the stone which builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner. And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: where unto also they were appointed. But ye area chosen generation, a royal priesthood a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into this marvelous light.” (King James Version of the Holy Bible1 Peter 2: 6-9).

This is one of the world’s best kept Masonic secrets and no Masonic scholar has ever revealed this symbolic history relative to the African American experience and its correlation to Hiram Abiff. The black Masonic order does not have the knowledge or the courage to explore and be innovative as scholars who desire to make a contribution to Masonic scholarship and to the field of Speculative Masonic thought. They are steeped in mundane ritual work while others are giving them THE SIGNS, THE TOKENS, AND THE WORD and they still lack the ability to find the LOST WORD.

The black Masonic order

God forbid, and he will.

This is the most racist and disgusting corruption and misuse that I have ever had the misfortune to witness. I hope it fails, and soon.

And believe me, we will stay awake.

• Issue headed for Masonic trial and state courtsDon't forget that its barely 50 years since the US formally dispensed with segregation and apartheid. Old habits die hard - particular in the Deep South. There have been black masonic Lodges (under Prince Hall Grand Lodges) for a very long time but never the twain will meet over there due to died-in-the-wool prejudices. Some Southern GLs are now recognising the existence of Prince Hall Masonry but his case represents a sea change. Its a bit like the trauma going on in France just now over the admission of women.

There is NO place for racism of any kind, anywhere on this tiny planet. We are all equal and entitled, yes entitled to be regarded, and treated as such.

We must all stay awake in order to confront, fight, and emerge victorious against anything, or anybody, who treats our fellow human beings as different, or inferior, simply because of where they were born (accident of birth) or the colour of their skin.

I believe that what I have said is quite clear.

Free Masonry is entirely colour blind. It is the one place in this world where it is wholly irrelevant. There is NO place for it, and where there is racism the answer is certainly not to oppose it with racism of a different nature, or colour.

Now you can list the Moderns Grand Lodges that are racist, and they are just as wrong as you are. Racism is NOT the answer to racism.

This is a treatise on the historical framework for the symbolism employed in the Moderns rituals, not Free Masonry per se. We must get over this. The Moderns form of freemasonry, as an entity, did not exist in any form prior to that meeting in the London Pub in 1717. It is, in their own words, and entirely accurate, "a product of the Enlightenment".

"Hiram Abiff was probably never heard of in a Lodge until after 1717... The legend of the Third Degree was introduced by the newcomers into Masonry ... (SOURCE: Albert Pike 1886, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry by Charles Sumner Lobingier, 1932)

Moderns freemasonry is as closely connected to the Ancient Mysteries as Marilyn Monroe is to the horticulture of Ogen Melons.

Grand Secretary: Perhaps you are fooling yourself. I live in the United States where in at least 11 states white Freemasons are still practicing racism and discrimination against African American Masons. This reality, automatically deconstruct your argument that Masonry is color blind--not in the United States. Sir, you did not point out one thing that I siad in the article that was racist and unless you consider telling and exposing historical events as being a racist. Moreover, Chattel Slavery, Transatlantic Slave Trade, Middle Passage, etc., existed and happened. How is that racist? If I am citing historical evidence. No, Sir your comments either indicates that you live in a bubble or are in denial. Here is my article that I wrote on Masonic Racism within the United States of America.

"Let There Be Light: There is no Brotherly Love Between Black Masons and White Masons"

“IS THERE NO HELP FOR THE POOR WIDOW'S SON?”

by Fahim A. Knight-EL

There is still no brotherhood amongst black Freemasons and white Freemasons in the United States of America. The majority of the “Old South” Confederate States; twelve to be exact (North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, West Virginia , Tennessee, Arkansas. Kentucky, Florida, etc) have not saw fit to end two hundred--thirty-four years (234) of segregation and racism within the Masonic Order. There are perhaps thirty-eight (38) states with white Grand Lodges that have extended formal fraternal recognition to African-American Masons, as a gesture of being polite and perhaps out of being politically correct, but beneath the so-called olive branch still lays suspicion and racism that is cloaked in white American style elitism and institutionalize white supremacy.

It was even more insulting when this writer discovered that white Masons referred to the black Masonic order of Prince Hall as "clandestine" and "irregular". This is interpreted to mean that the black Masonic Order of Prince Hall is not considered an official and recognized body of Freemasons under the white Masonic umbrella. (Reference: Paul M. Bessel and Alton G. Roundtree, “Out of the Shadows: The Emergency of Prince Hall Freemasonry in America).

The subject of Freemasonry evokes many different emotions and there exist various opinions and schools of thoughts on this vast subject of complexity. Thus, some make claim that Freemasonry is anti-Christian, devil worship, cult, secret society, anarchist, etc. This writer researched the volumes of literature and the writings on the subject of Freemasonry, exploring the views of its apologist and its pundits in order to determine what was true and what was false. The Masonic scholars defined Freemasonry as a beautiful system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols and at the basis of the Masonic philosophy are brotherly love, relief and truth.

The majority of white Masons in the United States classify themselves as Ancient Free and Accepted Masons (AF&AM) and/or some derivative; moreover, the system of Speculative Masonry (philosophical Masonry), developed from Operative Masonry (Stone Masons and Guild workers) which was completed when four lodges of London assembled in St. Paul Church yard June 24, 1717 and organized the first Grand Lodge of England. Nevertheless, one should not mistake the date of 1717, as being the historical origin of Masonry; it has been proven that black people in ancient Egypt, Africa had developed a sophiscated system of initiation called the Egyptian Mystery System. (Reference: Fahim A. Knight article titled, “Freemasonry and Islam: What do They Share?”

It is also believed that Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and Pythagoras, the philosophical fathers of masonry were educated in astronomy, music, geometry, arithmetic, logic, rhetoric and grammar in Egypt at the helm of African wise men. It is a hypocritical and contradictory for white Masons to deny black Masons their right to legitimacy and at the same time have borrowed their own Masonic rituals, philosophy and regalia from black Egyptian and Arabic culture. (Reference: George G.M. James, “Stolen Legacy”)

Some Freemasons outside of the United States will perhaps find this appalling, shocking, insulting and very much un-Masonic conduct and most inconsistent with the tenets of Freemasonry because it stands as a contradiction to the principles of Freemasonry, which according to my study as stated above are rooted in “Morality, Friendship and Brotherly Love”. Wm. H. Grimshaw who authored the book titled, “Official History of Freemasonry Among the Colored People in North America”, Some would consider Grinshaw work which was originally published in 1902 as one of the first scholarly recordings written by a black scholar on Prince Hall Masonry.

He Stated, “The Study of Masonry leads man to the correct knowledge of God; the correct knowledge of God leads to true worship of Him, and the true worship of Him places man in harmony with all that is true and good, enlarging his powers for usefulness in every vocation, station, position, or condition in life, thereby fitting him for citizenship, in whom we find a true neighbor, a generous friend, and a clear-cut and well defined power of circumscribing his desires and keeping passions in due bounds.”

Albert Pike is considered one of the greatest Masonic Scholars of all times, he authored the book titled, “Morals and Dogma” and in a chapter titled, “The Master”, he stated, “Hypocrisy is the homage the vice and wrong pay to virtue and justice. It is Satan attempting to clothe himself in the angelic vesture of light. It is equally detestable in morals, politics, and religion; in the man and in the nation. To do injustice under the pretence of equity and fairness; to reprove vice in public and commit it in private; to pretend to charitable opinion and censoriously condemn; to profess the principles of Masonic beneficence, and close the ear to the wail of distress and cry of suffering; to eulogize the intelligence of the of the people, and plot to deceive and betray them by means of their ignorance”.

This writer pulled out a copy of the “Journal of Negro History” (a scholarly journal originally founded by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the Father of Black History Week which is now Black History Month) Fall issue of 1982, it was giving to me by one of my college professors named Dr. Earlie Thorpe and mentor over twenty-five years ago, but this writer remembered there was an article written by Samuel Banks titled, “Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Remembered the Fractured Dream” and Banks quoted King’s most famous “I Have a Dream” Speech”.

This writer found the quote fitting for this article on black and white Freemasonry; Dr. Martin Luther King stated, “But one hundred years later, we must face the tragic fact that the Negro is still not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One Hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later the Negro still languishes in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So we have come here today to dramatize an appalling condition. . . I have a dream one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.”

Masons take obligations (they are not comfortable with those vows being characterized and described as oaths) for the most part in the United States on the Bible, but in other nations the holy book on the alter could vary. For example, in Islamic countries, it would probably be the Holy Quran on the alter representing the “GREAT LIGHT”; in the United States, the Holy Bible in Masonic liturgy is considered the GREAT LIGHT, “it is giving to you as the rule and guide of our faith and practice, the square and the compass to circumscribe our desires and keep our desires in due bounds with all mankind, especially the brethren,”. And on every Masonic Lodge alter there it sits, as the Masonic Compass and Square and guide, which to serve as the utmost Geometric tool that has been tried and test for generations. But the wisdom contained within is rooted in ethical and moral lessons for those who entered into Speculative Freemasonry. Thus, after going through elaborate rituals and receiving the sublime degrees (Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft and Master Mason) and hearing lectures of ancient wisdom that centered on character building and self improvement. How could one walk away being intolerant and ignore the pledges impressed in these so-called sublime degrees?

The TROWEL is an instrument made use by Operative Masons to spread the cement which unites a building INTO ONE COMMON MASS; but we as free and accepted Masons are taught to make use of it for the more noble and glorious purpose of spreading the cement of brotherly love and affection; that cement which unites us into one sacred band or society of friends and brothers, among no contention should ever exist, emulation, of who best can work and best agree (Reference: Duncan Rituals of Freemasonry). Yet, white Masons have negated all the moral and ethical insight espoused in Masonic teachings and is outright hypocritical to still be practicing discrimination and bigotry.

Allen Roberts perhaps is one of best modern day Freemasonry scholars and Masonic intellectual who authored the book titled, “The Craft and its Symbols: Opening the Door of Masonic Symbolism” stated, “In actuality, you have also told your brethren that they can count on you to stretch forth your hand to keep them from falling. You have offered them your strength, your ability, your knowledge when they need it. There are no reservations. It matters not whether the aid they need is mental, physical, or monetary. Your promise contains no ‘buts’. When a brother is in danger of any kind, it is your duty to advise him of his impending peril. In doing so, you must remember that it is not your ‘plumb line’ that judge him, but by his. And it is his Square and his Level, not yours, by which you are to determine his actions. His opinions may differ from yours politically and religiously, but they are his tools, not yours. WHEN HE GOES ASTRAY FROM THE PRINICPLES, THEN AND THEN ONLY, SHOULD YOU QUITELY REMIND THAT HE IS IN ERROR. THEN SHOULD ASSIST HIM TO FIND THE RIGHT TRACK FOR HIM TO FOLLOW.”

White Freemasonry has not only gone astray, it is in violation of the principled language that defines brotherhood. Webster’s Dictionary defines brother as being “One closely united with another or others by religious, political, or family bond”. What happen to the belief in the Cardinal Virtues of Temperance, Fortitude, Prudence and Justice? Perhaps in the dynamics of race these words have very little meaning to the white Masonic body when it comes to their dark skinned Masonic Brothers. This argument is not about Prince Hall Masons being classified by Ancient Free and Accepted Masons as “irregular” or “clandestine”, it is convenient to hide behind such accusations, but what truly drives this fraternal division more than anything else is racism. Masons are taught how to communicate with a fellow Mason in darkness and light based on the language of symbolism---a word (the being able to verbalize the passwords), sign (give the due guard), token (being able to give the grip) let me stop right there; IS THERE NO HELP FOR THE POOR WIDOW'S SON.

But this social phenomenal and antagonistic contradiction between black Masons and white Masons is steeped in a perhaps much larger historical debate of race in America and the culture that evolved out of Chattel Slavery (1555-1865) impacting the political, economic and social reality of race relations and affected how institutions were originated, as well as the formulation of group dynamics ideology. Dr. Asa Hilliard who authored book titled, “Reawakening of the African Mind” stated, “mental bondage is invisible violence. Formal physical slavery has ended in the United States. Mental slavery continues to this present day. This slavery affects the minds of all people and, in one way, it is worst than physical slavery alone. That is, the person who is in mental bondage will self-contained. Not only will that person fail to challenge beliefs and patterns of thought which control him, he will defend and protect those beliefs and patterns of thought virtually with his last dying effort.”

Sherrod N. Gresham in his book titled, “Prominent Prince Hall Masons on the Philatelic Materials: Stamps, First Day Covers, and Post Cards” stated, “On March 2, 1784, African Lodge #1 petitioned the Grand Lodge of England, the Premier or Mother Grand Lodge of the world, for a warrant (ort character), to organize a regular Masonic lodge, with all the rights and privileges thereunto prescribed. The Grand Lodge of England issued a character on September 29, 1784, to African Lodge # 459, the first lodge of blacks in America.” Black Masonry, for the most part, has accepted the racist practices of white masons in a passive manner. But black Freemasonry as an institution, will be called upon to be more vocal outwardly in the black community and move away from a tradition of apolitical and a non-engagement stance while the social issues are mounting in the black community and in reality there is no room for silence.

Prince Hall, a free black man of Boston, Massachusetts was initiated and raised as a master mason by a traveling British Military lodge in 1775 along with fifteen other free black men. In addition, Prince Hall received an official and legitimate Masonic Charter from the Grand lodge of England on September 29, 1784, which led to the establishing of African lodge Number 459. The United States Supreme Court on June 23, 1929 handed down a decision, which guaranteed that Prince Hall Masons and Shriners had all the rights as a fraternity to appear in public, and in private to practice the time honored traditions of Masonry.

The “News Quarterly”, which is the official publication of the United Supreme Council 33 Degree Prince Hall Affiliated, its Editor-in-Chief Joseph Walkes stated, “prior to 1914 and even up to 1918, both white and black fraternities had established local lodges and local Shrine Temples in several cities and states. In some instances they were established in the same cities, namely Dallas, El-Paso, and Houston. In 1914, White Masons in five Southern States; Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas, attempted to stop the practice of masonry by Prince Hall Masons and Prince Hall Shriners, as legitimate fraternal bodies in the United States. The White group appeared in a Texas court and entered a lawsuit against blacks, charging that they had no legitimate right to display Masonic or Shrine emblems in private or public, or call themselves Prince Hall Masons, Shriners, or anything else”

The above historical facts should serve as evidence which to dismantle the question of whether or not Prince Hall Freemasonry should be designated and viewed by white Masons as “irregular”; thus, there is enough historical documentation that suggest that these African-American Masons did received a legitimate and authentic charter from the Grand Lodge of England. Now! I am quite sure this argument has been presented over and over again, to the white Grand Lodges of the United States, but to little or no avail. Racism is a mindset that considers black people as a group as being inferior to whites because of physical (‘genotypical’ and ‘phenotypical’) traits. The racist further believes that these physical traits are detriments of social behavior and moral or intellectual qualities, and ultimately presumes that this inferiority is a legitimate basis for inferior social treatment of black people in society.

Prince Hall has some distinguish and prominent members such as: Thurgood Marshall(Former Supreme Court Justice), A. Phillip Randolph, Booker T. Washington, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, W. C. Handy, Eubie Blake, Whitney Young, Jesse Jackson, Elijah Muhammad, Al Sharpton, Mathew Henson, Charles Barkley, Alex Haley, Andrew Young, Sugar Ray Robinson, Charles Rangel, Louis Stokes, John H. Johnson, Lionel Hampton, Scottie Pippen, Benjamin Mays, Benjamin Hooks, Thomas Bradley, Richard Allen, etc., But many of these prominent African America Masons were not able to desegregate one of the last standing symbols that represent the values, culture, folkway, mores, etc,. of a nation divided on racial lines which is the collective institution of Freemasonry

The entire system of Masonry is a dying one because individuals who sought it out were not serious about what the craft offered. They got stuck at the first three symbolic degrees (Blue Lodge) and failed to captivate the moral lessons in which the Order was pointing. The traveling journey is a continuation of lessons and directions that are valuable to up-lifting humanity.

The Plessy versus Ferguson decision, which the United States Supreme Court in 1896, ruled and passed legislation declaring "separate but equal" as being constitutional and the law of the land. This legal decision ushered in segregation, institutionalize racism, and pervasive Jim Crow laws that lasted over fifty-eight years. Jim Crow Laws and segregation became to exemplify a nation divided on the lines of race. It was eventually overturned with the 1954 Brown versus Board of Education decision of Topeka, Kansas, which the United States Supreme Court declared "separate but equal" as being unconstitutional and it would be this high court's rendering that marshaled in the modern day Civil Rights era. (Reference: Andrew Hacker “Two Nations: Black and White, Separate, Hostile, Unequal)

This legal decision stood for fifth-eight (58) years and represented a turbulent era in United States History. Blacks began to socially and politically agitate the United States Government in their demand and quest for justice and inclusion that led to Civil Rights Movement.

Blacks in the United States led the fight for Civil Rights in the 1950’s and the 1960’s WHICH TO ERADICATE INSTITUTIONALIZE RACISM. Many Blacks lost their lives in this fight for freedom, justice and equality. Their social protest and agitation led to a sizable amount of public accommodation legislation being passed. For example, the passing the 1964 Civil Rights Act and 1965 Voting Rights Act, two huge pieces of legislation gained by the unswerving demand for total equality.

Blacks in the 1960’s fought (Bull Connors, Governor George Wallace, Senator Strum Thurmond, Senator Jesse Helms, etc., symbols of white manifest destiny) for inclusion and brought an end to racist segregation that had unjustly discriminated against blacks for so long. This writer wonders, where were the white Masons when the United States Supreme Court in 1954 with Brown versus Board of Education decision Topeka, Kansas, which overturned Plessy versus Ferguson (1896) and declared “separate but equal” as being un-Constitutional? (Reference: John Hope Franklin, “From Slavery Too Freedom: Since 1865)

Black Freemasonry historians for the most part are passive parrots who offer no real dialogue to Freemasonry as a philosophy. Joseph Walkes is considered a Masonic Scholar Emeritus in the body of Prince Hall intellectualism; he authored one the most definitive books on Prince Hall Freemasonry titled “200 Years of Prince Hall Freemasonry Black Compass and Square”. But after reading Walkes work it was evident that he had some serious problems with how white Masons have historically treated Prince Hall and the black Masonic craft in general.

But like most African American historians they shy away from tempered discussions and Walkes was no different---intellectual cowardice is the best way this writer can describe those who take the easy way out and remain silent to injustices in order to appear non-emotional and scholarly based on the rules the dominant culture has set-up for them to follow.

The majority of the Prince Hall writers do not provide the readers with substantive information other than dates and events. If they truly believe that there is no secret to Freemasonry, then why do they not offer light (truth) because only truth can rescue a collapsing social order? Walkes stated, “In my diary is a notation and reminder to myself, not to be too critical of Caucasian Masonry.” He attempted to justify his silence in the name of observing empirical research methods. He was not ignorant to the racist and social contradictions being advocated by white Masons in the name of Masonry. Joseph Walkes, the Prince Hall Historian should not have be an apologists for a racist institution they call 'regular' Freemasonry, but many of them do not have the courage nor the heart to challenge and condemn their white brethren. If that is case stand back and allow me to speak TRUTH TO POWER. True Freemasonry must be rescued from the gamut of lies, misconceptions, racism, hypocrisy, duality, etc.

The white Freemasons in the United States are still practicing racism and discrimination in 2007 against Black Masons, this is not only shameful, it is reprehensible. In the State of North Carolina, the Prince Hall Grand Lodge is located in city where this writer resides--- Durham, North Carolina and this writer has had the pleasure to meet and talk with the black Most Worshipful Grand Master Prince Hall Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina Jurisdictions. His name is Milton “Toby” Fitch; thus, he was a former State Representative of North Carolina and now holds a seat on the North Carolina Superior Court. The Grand Master struck me to be highly educated and equally intelligent, and wore the highest Masonic honor--- the title Grand Master.

But with all his academic learning and Masonic decorations and accolades he would not be accepted into the white Ancient Free and Accepted Masonic (AF&AM) family in North Carolina because of his skin color. Grand Master Finch even at the annual Prince Hall Grand Lodge sessions in September 2003 in Winston Salem, North Carolina; Finch invited the white Ancient Free and Accepted Grand Master Leonard Y. Safrit, Jr., (AF&AM) and put a resolution on the Masonic floor recognizing and accepting AF&AM, as well as extending full Prince Hall Masonic brotherhood to its white counterparts. But only to witness the white AF&AM not return the favor and voted to continue their racist and segregated practice against their Black Masonic Brothers of Prince Hall Masonry.

This writer applauds Grand Master Fitch’s humanity, but questions his motives to integrate; perhaps subconsciously they question their own legitimacy by still seeking to compromise their independence and sovereignty, by always being in quest of the organizational approval of their white brethren.

This writer knows throughout both orders' histories, there have been appeals to resolve the social antagonism between black and white Masons with little positive results. Black Freemasonry claims a philanthropic posture throughout the Black community and this is undeniable. However, the majority of the Black communities throughout the United States know very little about what Prince Hall Masonry truly stands for. This is why the social and political struggles of the order has fallen on deaf ears, as far as receiving assistance from the non-Masonic Black population who has not been raised by lodge ritualism. Joseph Walkes Prince Hall Historian should not have be an apologists for a racist institution they call 'regular' Freemasonry. True Freemasonry must be rescued from the gamut of lies and ritual justification of such lies.

Naim Akbar in his book titled “Chains and Images of Psychological Slavery” stated, “ Slavery was legally ended in excess of 100 years ago, but the brutality and the unnaturalness constituted a sever psychological and social shock to the minds of African Americans. This shock was so destructive to the natural life processes that the current generation of African Americans though we are 5-6 generations removed from the actual experience of slavery, still carry the scars in both our social and mental lives”

Freemasonry in general gives the impression of representing the highest aspirations of universalism and yet right here in America, white Mason and black Mason brothers have little dialogue because they can not see further than race and skin color. What happened to the biblical lesson of the 133 Psalms represented in the Entered Apprentice, the first Degree and the foundation of Masonry? “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments. As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”

Lastly, there is no doubt in my mind that Prince Hall Masonry will survive the onslaught of negative propaganda coming from their so-called white Masonic brothers. But will it be an affective institution in the Black community, as we slowly move further into the 21st Century? I am also equally disappointed that Prince Hall Masonry who has millions of black members throughout the United States and world, but are still seeking the fraternal recognition from white Masonic Grand Lodges, as opposed to cherishing their independence and sovereignty and continue to declare themselves legitimate, with or without the approval of their white Masonic brothers.

We have found that true masonry is an expression of justice, prudence, temperance, and fortitude and at the basis of these virtues lay friendship and brotherly love. We who believe in social justice must challenge white Masons in the United States to abolish their racist and segregationist views about black Masonry and to subdue their passions and improve themselves in Masonry. Let God shine his light on us all.

Well do something about it that is not a racist response. Sue them to Hell where they belong. It works.

What is an African American anyway?

You are either an African, or you are an American, and until you drop these silly racist labels that leave you wallowing in the injustices of the past, you will never make progress.

We don't have West Indian English, or a Pakistani Welshman, or an Irish Liverpudlian or a Greek Londoner. These are quite preposterous notions.

An Anglo-Saxon Englishman, or Scot, or Irishman, or Welshman is someone who accepts and shares the same values and national institutions within their chosen national boundaries.

America is a deeply divided nation because you do not. When are you going to stop living in the past?

In Akkadian mythology Humbaba (Assyrian spelling) or Huwawa,(Babylonian) also Humbaba the Terrible was a monstrous giant of immemorial age raised by Utu, the Sun.[1] Humbaba was the guardian of the Cedar Forest, where the gods lived, by the will of the god Enlil, who "assigned [Humbaba] as a terror to human beings".

[edit] Description
His face is that of a lion. "When he looks at someone, it is the look of death."[2] "Humbaba's roar is a flood, his mouth is death and his breath is fire! He can hear a hundred leagues away any (rustling?) in his forest! Who would go down into his forest!"[3] In various examples, his face is scribed in a single coiling line like that of the coiled entrails of men and beasts, from which omens might be read.[4] This has led to the name "Guardian of the Fortress of Intestines." [citation needed] He is the brother of Pazuzu and Enki and son of Hanbi.

[edit] Demise
Humbaba is first mentioned in Tablet II of the Epic of Gilgamesh: after they become friends following their initial fight, Gilgamesh and Enkidu set out on an adventure to the Cedar Forest beyond the seventh mountain range, to slay Huwawa (Humbaba): "Enkidu," Gilgamesh vows, "since a man cannot pass beyond the final end of life, I want to set off into the mountains, to establish my renown there."[2] Gilgamesh tricks the monster into giving away his seven "radiances" by offering his sisters as wife and concubine. When Humbaba's guard is down, Gilgamesh punches him and captures the monster. Defeated, Humbaba appeals to a receptive Gilgamesh for mercy, but Enkidu convinces Gilgamesh to slay Humbaba. In a last effort, Humbaba tries to escape but is decapitated by Enkidu, or in some versions by both heroes together; his head is put in a leather sack, which is brought to Enlil, the god who set Humbaba as the forest's guardian. Enlil becomes enraged upon learning this and redistributes Humbaba's seven splendors (or in some tablets "auras"). "He gave Humbaba's first aura to the fields. He gave his second aura to the rivers. He gave his third aura to the reed-beds. He gave his fourth aura to the lions. He gave his fifth aura to the palace (one text has debt slaves). He gave his sixth aura to the forests (one text has the hills). He gave his seventh aura to Nungal"[5]. It is interesting to note that no vengeance was laid upon the heroes, though Enlil says "He should have eaten the bread that you eat, and should have drunk the water that you drink! He should have been honoured".

As each gift was given by Gilgamesh, he received from Humbaba a "terror" (= "radiance") in exchange, from Huwawa. The 7 gifts successively given by Gilgamesh were [6] : (1) his sister Ma-tur, (2) the mountains, (3) eca-flour, (4) big shoes, (5) tiny shoes, (6) semi-precious stones, and (7) a bundle of tree-branches.

While Gilgamesh thus distracts and tricks this spirit of the cedar forest, the fifty unmarried young men he has brought on the adventure are felling cedar timber, stripping it of its branches and laying it "in many piles on the hillside", ready to be taken away. Thus the adventure reveals itself in the context of a timber raid, bringing cedar wood to timberless Mesopotamia.

As his death approaches, and Gilgamesh is oppressed with his own mortality, the gods remind him of his great feats: "...having fetched cedar, the unique tree, from its mountains, having killed Humbaba in the forest..."[7]

The iconography of the apotropaic severed head of Humbaba, with staring eyes, flowing beard and wild hair, is well documented from the First Babylonian Dynasty, continuing into Neo-Assyrian art and dying away during the Achaemenid rule. The decapitated head of the monstrous Humbaba found a Greek parallel in the myth of Perseus[8] and the similarly employed head of Medusa, which Perseus placed in his leather sack.[9] Archaic Greek depictions of the gorgoneion render it bearded, an anomaly in the female Gorgon. Judith McKenzie detected Humbaba heads in a Nabatean tomb frieze at Petra.[10]

Also checkout www.piney.com/ GilgaHuw. html, they show a mask depicting the image of Humbaba, Huwawa or Hubaba.

Your response is very Eurocenttic and you did not address any points I have made. I gave you a 5000 word article that I wrote explaining and exposing American racism in Freemasonry, which intially you stated there was no racism in Masonry. I got all types of proof and documentation that Freemasonry goes much further back than 1717; perhaps you meant this is when European Freemasonry originatated. Moreover even Christopher Knight and Robert Lomas two European Masonic historians and writers document Freemasonry further back than 1717. What sources are you reading or is it just your Eurocentric worldview that you are coming from. Thus Give Me a Miniute I am going to post regarding what it means for the African living in America to look back, it is entitled, "Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome: Myth or Reality". I am posting it now and perhaps this will answer some of your questions relative to the African American plight.

Black and white Masonic groups officially recognize each other

State’s two Masonic groups join
By Richard Stradling
RALEIGH - Members of the state’s two Masonic organizations — one black, one white — ended 138 years of mutual disregard Friday by signing a resolution recognizing each other as brother Masons.
The resolution, signed near the end of a nearly two-hour ceremony full of formality and speeches, ended a vestige of the segregation era, during which the two groups — one white, the other black — spent decades following the ancient tenets and teachings of freemasonry while each pretended the other didn’t exist.
“Today’s a historic day, because we’re here to say we’re brothers again,” said David Cash, a Methodist minister from Kannapolis and grand master of the white group, the Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina.
Cash and his counterpart, Milton “Toby” Fitch Jr. of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina and Its Jurisdictions, signed the document in the old House chambers of the State Capitol. They sat at a table where North Carolina’s resolution to secede from the Union was signed 148 years ago.
Both Prince Hall and AF&AM Masonic groups carry on the traditions of a fraternity founded by building craftsmen in medieval Europe. The state’s AF&AM organization was founded in 1787, though some of the individual lodges date back earlier. The state’s Prince Hall group was founded in 1870.
Pomp and pride
Despite shared roots and goals, their members did not officially recognize each other as Masons until Friday.
“We are of the same family,” said Dan Blue Jr., a Prince Hall Mason and state legislator from Raleigh. “This is an opportunity to complete a circle.”
The ceremony, which had the feel of a peace treaty signing, was years in the making.
Members of the Prince Hall Masons unanimously passed a resolution recognizing their white counterparts as true Masons at their annual meeting in 2004. But a similar resolution failed several years in a row at AF&AM meetings, despite impassioned pleas from the group’s leaders.
This year, in September, it passed 642-328, leading to Friday’s gathering, which filled not only the old House chamber but also the old Senate, where the overflow watched on a big-screen TV.
Membership in the larger, white lodge has fallen from 73,000 at its peak in 1981 to less than 50,000, even as the state’s population has soared. But Friday’s ceremony was a reminder of the devotion of many Masons to the organization and the influential people it attracts. U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge led the pledge of allegiance, and former state Supreme Court justices Henry Frye and James Exum Jr. also spoke.
The resolution signed Friday does not merge the groups in any way, but it should lead to cooperation between them.
Cash, the AF&AM grand master, said representatives of the two groups are meeting to work out visitation issues and protocol. For example, he noted, Prince Hall Masons have a dress code, while the AF&AM does not.
“They are a little bit more formal,” he said.
That formality was on display Friday, as Prince Hall members in particular wore colorful aprons around their waists and medallions around their necks. A color guard of Prince Hall Masons with epaulets on their shoulders, two rows of buttons down their chests and hats covered with white feathers lined the aisle of the old House chamber with raised swords as officers from the two organizations filed in.
Earlier this fall, Fitch and the Prince Hall Masons made Cash an honorary member. Friday, Cash returned the gesture, reading a framed resolution with a preacher’s shout in his voice before the two men embraced before a shower of flashbulbs and a standing ovation.

Well this statement calls for an answer to a very important question. How can a self-started, un-Chartered Grand Lodge in England, issue a "legitimate charter" to any body?

Firstly, a Charter is a legal document that may only be issued by a Monarch or a Sovereign Legislature.

Secondly a Charter holder cannot, by law, issue a Charter, it may only issue a warrant to act under its Charter.

Thirdly, a Charter may only be repealed by the Sovereign Legislature that issued it, or the Legislature that issued with the assent of the Sovereign power.

Accordingly, the United States Supreme Court legitimised Prince Hall Free Masonry because it possessed the Sovereign power of the State. In effect, it started a completely new and legitimate American Grand Lodge, totally unconnected with English freemasonry. The Supreme Court could not, by definition, legitimise an illegal, in fact non-existent, English Charter.

Similarly, and earlier, after the American War of Independence, the other American State Grand Lodges were legitimised. Beforehand they were not legitimate, they were also wholly irregular, because they were working under the false premise that their English "Charters" were legal. They were, as a matter of fact, worthless pieces of paper.

Scottish warrants were of a different character.

Your freemasonry is pure American freemasonry, started with proper authority, by legal Charter from your own Sovereign State. You might as well just forget what happened before the Supreme Court ruling. Flim flam.

Prince Hall Masonry was considered “Regular” as early as 1784 and there is a long history of racism and social antagonism that have existed within the United States. Many freed black men fought in the American Revolution—some fought on the side of the thirteen colonies and others fought on side of Great Britain (the Crown), which helped America gain her independence in 1776.

In 1775 Prince Hall and the fourteen other black military soldiers were initiated, past and raised and made Masons by a white Irish European military lodge in Boston, Massachusetts and this much we know is undeniable. This fact is irrefutable, but based on segregation and racism, American Masons did not receive black Masons as brothers of the Craft. Prince Hall Petitioned the Grand Lodge of England for a charter and a Masonic dispensation to function as a legal black Masonic entity and it was granted. He received the charter for the establishment of African Lodge 459 and later African lodge number 1 was convened.

Thus, with the Masonic structure in America either the initial Prince Hall lodge would have to be admitted within the body of American Masonry (white Grand Lodges) and/or function as an entity under the white Scottish Rite Masonic Order or the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons (these two bodies are often interchangeably within the scheme of American Freemasonry), which was not within the rules and laws of the U.S. social structure and this also included the American Freemasonic Order. Prince Hall charter forced him to seek to build a black Masonic institution understanding that he was not going to get any acceptance letter from the white Masonic body within the United States extending him and the other black Masons membership into their all white lodges. The Transatlantic Slave Trade relative to the United States did not end until 1807 and Africans in America at this time in history did the best they could under some unbearable political, economic and social circumstances.

Prince Hall probably did not know that it was his ancestors of Kemet (Ancient Egypt) that was the first to introduced the system of adepts initiations, rituals, qualified stages of learning, etc., to the world; in particular the Egyptian Mystery System which was based on a system of Ancient Wisdom and writings that went further back than PTAH, Amen-RA and even further than the Osirian Myth. Thus, if Hall saw the Grand Lodge of England as a credible Masonic body; it was perhaps his orientation, which was no different than the thinking of most blacks who were made slaves in the Americas and who after being made free in 1865 still followed the Caucasian's culture, mores’, folkways, norms, etc., even in 2009. Prince Hall did have the vision and wither all to establish a black Masonic order that has withstood the historical test of time for over two hundred years.

Many Prince Hall Masons have sought out the true origins of Freemasonry and is breaking the Eurocentric Masonic grip that has suffocated our ability to go further and uncover more ancient systems of initiation and learning that truly predates the western world concept of Freemasonry. They only have a fraction and distorted system of Masonry. Many like myself are doing what we can to introduce brothers to this alternative view of Masonry and reintroduce him to what his African ancestor established over 20 thousand years ago in Cush and Kemet. While the Caucasian was still toiling in the Caucasus Mountains between the Black and Caspian Sea.

Could we stop copying and pasting please and deal with the questions that I raised. I am not interested in when it "was considered regular". The fact is that it was not regular until the Supreme Court Judgement.

It certainly is now so there is no need to be defensive on this.

And what about this "African American" nonsense?

Thus, everything I have given you is my words. Please show me one thing that I have given that was not my words. You have no defense for Masonic racism and I have cited you an entire article giving you my well researched article assessing and evaluating Masonic racism from its inception in the United States. Why are you keeping on trying to deny this historical fact?

The term "African American" was derived from Europeans assault on people of African dissent robbing them of a land, heritage, culture, religion, God, folkway, mores, values, customs, and traditions, etc.; this was the negative impact of 310 years of Chattel Slavery (1555-1865).

Africans in America were denied their culture humanity. This was the greatest crime ever committed in the history of humanity. It was against the law for Africans on the slave plantation to speak their own native tongue and this evil system divided those who shared ethnic lineage.

They called Blacks (Negroes) from the word "necro" which means something dead, but they have duped humanity in believing that the word negro meant black in Latin (Spanish), but it actually meant "dead" referring to a people who from their perspective was from the "Dark Continent" meaning a people who had no history and gave nothing to human civilization.

Yes, this type of historical onslaught which was based in the ideology of white supremacy and by its nature left a people devastated. Although, Chattel Slavery ended in 1865 the search to reclaim an ethnic, nationality, racial and culture identity left African people in America in search of a cohesive identity and even in 2009, we have yet to achieve that objective. Blacks has transition in from being Africans, Negro, Colored, Black, Afro-American, African American, etc.

These different nationality claims were a direct result of the effect of Chattel Slavery. Moreover, blacks in the United States have always had a culture duality—African, perhaps in genetically and phenotype our classification would be African. But on the other hand we are considered Americans (at least in legal theory) and these complex variables are more contradictory than an agreed ethnic/nationality solution relative to the Africans living in America.

In the mid-1980s Jesse Jackson and other black leadership proposed and adopted the nationality classification for blacks—African American. I hope that answers your question and give you some historical background.

"Negro" means black in Spanish, Portuguese, and ancient Italian; all of these derive from the Latin word for black, i.e., niger. Etymologically, "negro" ultimately derives from nigrum, the accusative form of the Latin niger (black).

I have NOT denied that there has been Masonic racism but "black Masonry" is racial segregation based upon the colour of ones skin and THAT is racism too. That was the point of my statement and question.

I stand by what I said about the continuation of racial stereotypes in the United States of America. The day you can simply say "I am an American" and forget the African bit, then your country will be a lot healthier.

Nationality classification? Why do you need it? This is 2009. When was slavery abolished?

And by the way, the word "negro" refers to people who originated from the Niger Delta, the word Niger meaning "black" in the Latin tongue. I agree entirely with kasalt. I don't know who is filling your head with this racist nonsense, but it has nothing to do with the root necro, or death. Who told you this then? Whoever it was, I suspect was trying to wind you up for some reason.

Please forget race, America. Treat everyone as an individual, as an equal, and you won't go far wrong. Fahim, your national and cultural identity is that of an equal American Citizen, and may God bless you for that.

No, African American identity will always be viewed separate and apart from what you describe as Americanism (they are two distinct people and cultures). You are asking 30-50 million Africans living in America to forget their cultural and nationality and accept Americanism. No, Sir what you are proposing is insane and represents cultural destruction. We will never fully embrace our former slave masters culture as our own for the social harmony of this nation called America. I explained to you the entire "African American" concept (your are still in denial of this historical reality) you can accept it or leave it alone. No European in York, England has the moral authority to assign Africans in America a nationality; thus, England was one of the perpetrators of the criminal act, in particular their role in Transatlantic slave trade. This is why we stand with the Muslims and Islam in the United Kingdom; they will continue give UK hell. This should be your concern in the UK how are you goiing deal with miltant and radical Islam. You have no knowledge of the history and plight of black Americans. Here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBe68F3nJmQ that explains the word "Negro" and its origin from our perspective and not the from the Eurocentric worldview. Please take a minute and view and let me know your thinking. Black Freemasonry was only a reaction to white Freemasonry, which was racist to its core. Fahim, I feel so very sorry for you if you believe even 1% of what you have posted. Africa is clearly not a nation, or a culture. It is, as a matter of fact, an entire continent consisting of a large number of very disparate countries, cultures, political systems, religions, tribes and peoples, white, black, or any colour that you might care to mention.

America is obviously in for some very difficult times due to blind racial prejudice from people with your twisted mentality, irrespective of your race, creed or colour.

Thank God I am a typical mongrel Anglo-Saxon Englishman who will, unfortunately, have to witness the inevitable bloody outcome.

Please do not claim to be a Freemason Fahim, because this you could never be, whether Modern or Ancient.

This just shows what can happen when freemasons mistakenly pursue an open door policy after having comprehensively ditched its sound moral base. What a monumental mistake was made in 1723 (the first Anderson Constitutions).

This is a VERY serious, and IMHO highly dangerous development, and a further quite frightening corruption of the tenets of a Free Mason.

Here you go again with a White Supremacy perspective; Africa is in the condition it is in because of European imperialism and colonialism, which has led to the raping and robbing of Africa's resources by past and present European powers. You have a habit of making the criminal the victim and the victim the criminal. I can just cite the Berlin Conference 1884-1885 where Africa was divided and partitioned by the European powers in which nations and people were separated to benefit the colonial masters. Sir, no European is in a moral position to judge the continent of Africa based on their roles or their ancestor role in the greatest human tragedy/crime ever recorded in human history. Thus, the principles of Freemasonry were hypocritical because Americans and some Europeans nations prohibited a fellowman membership based on skin color. This isn't anything Fahim A. Knight-EL invented or created, but it was an agreed system to deny blacks membership because white Freemasons saw themselves as being ethnic superior. I have been on a campaign to expose this Masonic hypocrisy and break up that good ole boy network. You are still in denial of Masonic racism based on your comments. Your argument is weak and has no basis. Sir, everyone knows that there would not have been a need for two distinct Masonic fraternal orders black and white, if it were not for racism--practice by our white Masonic brothers.

The Temple of Salomon and Hiram Abiff were not a topic of Freemasonry of 1717 when the first documented four lodges came together. There is no mention of Hiram Abiff per se and a scuffle involving a chief architect and an impatient pack of vengeful apprentice masons in the Bible. Extra-canonical sources (the Apocrypha, Pseudoepigrapha, Dead Sea Scrolls) prove no help, either. In fact, the paucity of documentary and archaeological evidence suggests that the story of Hiram Abiff is simply a figment of some fertile imagination.

Absolutely correct about Hiram Abiff except the rituals were developed by the white, European, Huguenot Minister, Dr Theophilus Desaguliers, between 1720 and 1730.

These references to a fictional character called "Hiram Abiff" were first documented in France in the rituals of a non-Masonic organisation known as "The Sons of Solomon". This is where it is believed, Desaguliers discovered them, and in the absence of the rituals for the key "Master's Part" denied to him, introduced the fiction of Hiram Abiff.

There is a need TODAY for an end to racism. I demonstrated against the policy of separate development in South Africa. I did not do that in order to support the same policy in America.

Your thinking is way out of date my brother.

Sir, Racism is a disease and this disease has even spread itself to the Masonic Order, in particular within American Masonry. Thus, as I stated before we will never let this issue go until the other 11 States in the USA abandon their racist practices against black Masons. How can one still call themselves brother Masons and so-called embrace the principles and still stand as one of the few institutions in America that stills overtly practice racism? What part of this social dilemma that you do not understand? The white Masons are practicing apartheid right inside the Ancient Free and Accepted Masonic Order (AF&AM), Scottish Rite and York Rite Orders in America. Do not attack me but go on a campaign to force your white Masonic brothers to end this unjust and deplorable and racist disposition, which stands as a Masonic contradiction. We will always oppose this type of behavior. I as a Masonic researcher will not let our white Masonic brothers off the hook. America in general, still remains a racist nation and Freemasonry as an institution in the United States reflects the larger social order.

So true, I have never understood how black people in america have accepted this word "African-American". Also the sad truth is that A lot of black people in america (& to some extent england) have become the gatekeepers to racist values. An obvious one is using the word nigger in music etc. How in hell is that "cool"? I could go on & on but I don't want to deviate any further from the original topic.

Thank you for the comment this part of the discussion has aready been dealt with please read the thread. Racism is an unexcusable. But if you missed my comments here it is relative to the term "African American" :

I'm wondering, what is your proposed solution? Do you favor separate states in America, one for Blacks and one for Whites? And what about all those who are of mixed race? Do you favor the interbreeding of Blacks and Whites that is currently taking place, until they blend completely into one homogeneous whole? Or do you favor the repatriation of African-Americans back to Africa, as the Nation of Islam once did?

Let's face it afro-americanism is an experiment gone wrong...

I mean the Zionists who imported the african people just left a big problem to the fellow masons in the south of the US.

Then the progress and the abolition of slavery left the black brothers onto a masonic land - NOT theirs.

I explain myself better: I leave in Europe, have travelled alot and the best People I met are the africans

- the ones from Senegal particularly. They got this principle that a community can be seen as a tribe,
so contrasts and oppositions should be surpassed with the grain of your head first.

This is a principle that Fat, Bold, White men has nowadays lost due to supremacism,
racist principles and the overall consideration of money as the Manna that solves all the problems.

So - back to the Topic - millions of now-free people had to be part of a multicoloured society, based on masonic principles.

Do any of you think that could this possible? Do you think that Abolitionism has resolved it all? C'mon, black people has its own origins and they are proud of it - who to blame?

The Man who counts on his history or the ones who slaughtered the Natives and, then, imported people from africa for their wealth?

Or you are blind or you know that the criminous act of deleting a populace origin is one of the worst, almost the same of physical deletion.

Just look at south america - what have done the church? A complete annihilation of previous traditions: this is almost the same as the Natives butchered in North America.

Sue them to Hell, and at the same time replace them with fully integrated Free Masonry. Show the world by your example. You can do it.

Thanks, now I know how the term came about. It's weird because I believe we will never fully get rid of racism/prejudice. I'm mixed race (Jamiacan/English) yet the part of london I live I don't get any problems from white or black people, well If I do it's because of falling out or whatever, Now what I am noticing is racism due to religion, like hindu/muslim, looking down on people not because they are white or black, but because they are, or rather assume them to be christian.

Anyway, back to the topic, even if white masons accept what you are getting at, what good is it going to do anyway? You see I don't see any benefits to masonry (In helping society I mean) Or are saying you just want them to recognise what you believe is the truth?

I believe we will never fully get rid of racism/prejudice.

This is probably true, but we must never allow racism without confronting it head on as being totally unacceptable thinking and behaviour.

It should be made a criminal offence to handicap any other human being because of their race or their colour.

We cannot stop fools from thinking (or not thinking as the case may be) but we can legislate for wrong-doing, and we should. Never give up trying to change society for the better. It is your duty as an Anglo-Saxon Englishman.
