MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - An AeroMexico passenger plane was hijacked at the airport in the Mexican resort of Cancun on Wednesday and flown to Mexico City's international airport.

Transport Minister Juan Molinar told Mexican radio the aircraft had landed safely.

El Universal and Reforma websites said three men earlier seized control of the plane and threatened to blow it up unless they were allowed to speak to President Felipe Calderon.

So this plane was landed safely, but somehow the arabs with boxcutters managed to crash those planes on 9/11..? Wow.. Hmm... If someone attacked me with boxcutters, I would just laugh. The planes on 9/11 were obviously remote controlled.

This is a weird story.

They hijacked a plane going from Cancun to Mexico. They did not harm any passengers or crew members. They demanded to speak to Calderon. They landed the plane and released passengers. Eventually crew members were released and suspects detained.

What was so direly important that these people needed to say to the Mexican Pres that required them to hijack an airliner to get attention? They threatened to blow up the plane, but they had no explosives, or any weapons for that matter. They weren't asking for large sums of cash. All they wanted was to speak to Calderon.

I've just heard on the BBC news apparently one of the hijackers

The message must have been important for them to even consider hijacking an airliner with no intention of harming the passengers or crew.

great - al-qaeda has spread into Mexico. Infact, they're intimately connected to the drug cartels. Quick - American & NATO troops must be stationed along the border.. Globalist intervention = NAU.

I can't tell if this is a serious question or not.. but no, I didn't.. :D Why, is that what they're saying too?

I was mostly being sarcastic.. I don't know what the hell this is all about, but I am expecting a load of chaos to take place in Mexico as a PRS (problem-reaction-solution) campaign to encourage globalization.

A Bolivian junkie preacher who used a fake bomb to hijack a Mexican passenger plane Wednesday said he was on a mission from God to warn the world of an impending earthquake.

Jose Flores Pereira, 44, who carried a Bible and a small box wrapped in packing tape, explained that the date - 9/9/9 - was the number of the Beast upside down.

He forced the pilot of AeroMexico Flight 576 from Cancun to circle Mexico City seven times before landing, and demanded to talk to Mexican President Felipe Calderon. "He had a revelation that Mexico was threatened by an earthquake," said public safety minister Genaro Garcia Luna. The hijacker released all 104 passengers unharmed before SWAT teams stormed the plane, freeing the crew and capturing Pereira without firing a shot.

The tarmac drama played out live on news channels across the world. But passengers said they didn't even know they had been hijacked until they saw military trucks converging on the plane after landing.

Police took several men into custody, but later said Pereira acted alone. The confusion apparently arose because Pereira said he was working with three others.

It turned out he meant the Holy Trinity.

As "Josmar," Pereira has posted numerous YouTube videos of himself singing about quitting drugs for Jesus.
