We consumers are the engine of the economy. But the fuel for this engine is debt. We've funded the boom of the last ten years on our credit cards, lines of credit, and bank loans and we dont have much to show for it. Now the party is over. The bubbles are going "pop, pop, pop". Time to wise up. We could all start by cutting up our credit cards and saying goodbye to those criminal rates of interest.

Mornin' Spenben - what a brilliant video - thanks for posting it.
Both AljaBeeba and GMTV have been 'biggin' up' the "end of the recession this morning...while jobs and businesses continue to disappear. The Kraft bid for Cadbury's will mean another once great British brand will disappear into the clutches of 'them'...(they don't call it 'Kraft' for nothing).
I think we've all done very well NOT to play 'their' consumer games over the last year, so well in fact that I think 'they' are now suffering too (good) and they've instructed their lamestream media mouthpieces to instruct us to go spend again and of course - CHRISTMAS IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!! Well I, for one, will NOT be shopping till I drop and which I haven't done for a number of years.
The only way we can change 'the system' which was set up and is maintained by purely materially based 'entities' (can't call them people...) is to take away their life-blood which is our sweat equity aka MONEY.
The video implied all of that of course and it's now up to us not to do as we're being instructed.
It's a great video for sharing, especially amongst our yoof.
