Britains most famous UFO case has finaly been solved, by the MOD no! by the USAF no, but by a farmer:D
This thread is a bit tongue in cheek, i am a believer and i just couldnt stop laughing at the report in the sun newspaper on Saturday 5th September 2009.

The farmer a Mr Peter Turtill (66) of Ipswich said "he burnt a van full of stolen fertilzer, after it broke down in the woods" he went on to say that "the fertilzer and metal made some unsual type of flames"

So 29 years on we have a man who claims it was him that started a fire that was soon to become the Biggest case in Britains UFO files?
But he dosent say anything about this happening on 3 consecutive nights?

Lets take a look at some evidence from the case:
One of Great Britain's most significant Military-UFO incidents happened at Rendlesham forest in Suffolk on three consecutive nights in late December 1980.
By the east gate of RAF Woodbridge that night were US Air Force security patrolmen John Burroughs and Budd Parker. They soon spotted the strange craft and at first thought that it may be a plane about to crash, however they soon realised that the craft was hovering downwards and eventually landed in the woods.
Within minutes, security patrol sergeant Jim Penniston was on his way by jeep, driven by Herman Kavanasac.

Penniston and Burroughs claim they came close to an object that was like nothing they had ever seen before. As Airman (later Sergeant) John Burroughs insisted 'I do not now whether this was some kind of machine under intelligent control or a fantastic natural phenomenon - some rare kind of energy. What I do know is that it was nothing mundane. There are no words that can adequately describe the wonder of what we saw'

Nothing stated so far seems remotely like a fire

caught on radar
East Anglia has always had extensive radar coverage, ever vigilant for a possible invasion from across the North Sea. This ensured that the object seen on 26th of December was detected. At RAF Neatishead, an unidentified object appeared on the radar and created panic in the control room. It returned no signal and was outperforming the RAF's finest aircraft. As they lost it off screen at a phenomenal speed, the matter was subject to a major investigation. The Neatishead radar tapes and those from nearby RAF Watton were requisitioned three days later. Remarkably, when USAF intelligence officers visited Watton to collect the film, they claimed that a UFO had crashed into the forest. Senior officers from a nearby USAF airbase witnessed the event, they said, and they had even seen aliens floating in beams of light underneath the spacecraft. Incredibly, the radar officers were not even told to keep this extraordinary story secret.

can a van load of fertilzer actualy be caught on radar?

Next we have, Charles I. Halt. Lt. Col. USAF Deputy Base Commander, own signed report to deal with.We will just look at a couple of things.

1. Early in the morning of 27 Dec 80 (approximately 0300L), two USAF security police patrolmen saw unusual lights outside the back gate at RAF Woodbridge. Thinking an aircraft might have crashed or been forced down, they called for permission to go outside the gate to investigate. The on-duty flight chief responded and allowed three patrolmen to proceed on foot. The individuals reported seeing a strange glowing object in the forest. The Object was described as being metalic (sic) in appearance and triangular in shape, approximately two and three meters across the base and approximately two meters high. It illuminated the entire forest with a white light. The object itself had a pulsing red light on top and a bank(s) of blue lights underneath. the object was hovering or on legs. As the patrolmen approached the object, it manoeuvred though the trees and disappeared. At this time the animals on a nearby farm went into a frenzy. The object was briefly sighted approximately an hour later near the back gate.

2. The next day, three depressions 1 1/2" deep and 7" in diameter were found where the object had been sighted on the ground. The following night (29 Dec 80) the area was checked for radiation. Beta/gamma readings of 0.1 milliroentgens were recorded with peak readings in the three depressions and near the center of the triangle formed by the depressions. A nearby tree had moderate (.05 - .07) readings on the side of the tree toward the depressions.

3. Later in the night a red sun-like light was seen though the trees. It moved about and pulsed. At one point it appeared to throw off glowing particles and then broke into five separate white objects and then disappeared. Immediately thereafter, three star-like objects were noticed in the sky, two objects to the north and one to the south, all of which were about 10 degrees off the horizon. The objects moved rapidly in sharp angular movements and displayed red, green and blue lights. The objects to the north appeared to be elliptical through an 8-12 power lens. They then turned to full circles. The objects to the north remained in the sky for an hour or more. The object to the south was visible for two or three hours and beamed down a stream of light from time to time. Numerous individuals, including the undersigned, witnessed the activities in paragraphs 2 and 3.

Again i do not detect anywhere it could be seen as 'ol famrer giles' burning his stolen fertilizer and a van?
I wonder if Mr Turtill will now be charged with handling & disposing of stolen property:D

As Charles I. Halt stated in his report he mentions three depressions in the ground, and Mr Turtill is to be believed haha:D:D
Perhaps this was the vehicle in question,

Dont forget we are dealing with some very credible eyewitnesses who deal with aircraft day & night, who have good knowledge of viewing objects in the nightsky, and have this / these objects caught on radar.
And then we have................
'Ol farmer Giles' who after 29 years decides to make this announcment:mad:

Total non sense and desperate from the PAB;).This farmer is obviously not very clued up on the actual events that took place on THREE consecutive nights.Another very poor attempt by the MSM through one of their channels to debunk or explain these events.Obviously the people targeted by this attempted and laughable story are the general public who are most generally unaware of any of the actual facts surrounding this or who have just no idea that this even happened. The very fact that this has been attempted by the PAB suggests or points to them taking this seriuosly in the facts that they are aware that there has been just far too much evidence released or found out by serious investigators that point to these incidents being actual and true in origin.

Yawn! Not another Rendlesham Forest UFO theory! Add it to the lighthouse theory, the ice-cream van theory, the stolen police car theory & the tractor theory. All desperate attempts to debunk the most water-tight UFO case, probably anywhere.

If we get really stuck about what could have happened, we could try listening to some of the dozens or even hundreds of people that witnessed the events.

Here's a great interview with Larry Waren, a controversial, but extremely important witness in the case:

I agree with you 100%, but perhaps you missed the point of my post, it was sarcasm, that with all the credible witnesses who were there on all 3 nights, here we have a lonlely farmer "burning stolen fertilizer that has suddenly grabbed a portion of a daily national newspaper after 29 years:eek:

I stated in my OP:

Oh yes, I know it was tongue in cheek. My 'yawn ' comment wasn't directed at you or the thread, but was more a reflection of the tedious nature of these people that dream up these ludicrous debunking theories.

Peace bro! :)

Thanks mate for clearing that one up:D
There i was thinking that you had got the wrong end of the stick mate:o
Yes you are right again, many people do dream up ludicrous debunking theories, even though there is so much evidence to back the true story up!!
But i have to admit this "Ol farmer giles" theory has to be one of the most ludicrous dont you think?

All the best mate.:)

A friend of mine gave the 2 soldiers in the recording a copy of this record when they came to speak in the UK back in 95/96. I dont know what they thought of it though.

If you want to know what really happened at Rendlesham, and the Ufo situation in general, you should come to this http://www.beyond-knowledge.co.uk (and larry warren will be there!)

As far as I'm aware, the old guy in the photo aka Peter Turtill, 66, is just a stock photo. He probably doesnt even exist. Also, Its coming upto the 30th anniversary of the Rendlesham case which is probably why 'crap' like this has been popping up lately. Look how many times Roswell has been 'debunked' with balloons and test dummies.

for some, 'the truth shouldn't be out there'.
