I kid you not folks!

I was in Marks and Spencers the other day with my OH, he was looking for clothes for our holiday and I said to him, "why not have a look at the shorts?" and my voice echoed really really loud. My hubby looked at me in disbelief, I moved away and the echo went when I spoke. I moved back near this clothes rack and spoke, sure enough the echo came on real loud again. I asked my hubby what this was about and he said it was friggin microphones!!!

its called acoustics. the way the stores are designed and the way the clothes are arranged causes a funnel effect, the fabric acts like a buffer and absorbs the sound and in certain areas the echoes seem very loud.
its nothing sinister, just a simple case of bad planning by the staff.

I hear what ur saying deathbed, but this echo was not something you would here from sound bouncing off fabric.

My hubby also was convinced this was an echo from a microphone.;)

You should have started singing and had a little concert right there. See if anyone else notices or if the manager comes up or anything. "It always feels like somebodies watching meeee."

Put the microphones really close to each other.

Reminds me of those undercover security that are always nearby pretending to look at the products, when really they are following you.
