Does anyone have a pdf copy of this book? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Don't worry I am not going to make anything I just fancy having a read of it.

You could equally try "The Poor Man's James Bond," used to be available from Paladin Press, Boulder, CO.
(Hi Bobbydiva, remember Kurt Saxon, Jeff Cooper, and Jeff Hayduke?)

That book is full of crap. It's disinfo IMO.
When I was 15 I used to make my own dynamite (nitroglycerin + ammonium nitrate based, and detonated with an acetone peroxide or silver acetylide cap)
And used it to blow up road signs :D
Do a google search for megalomania controversial chem lab, powerlabs, or have a look at some of the hobby chemists forum out there. I don't do it anymore, got busted a few times and decided to quit.

That has happened yes, but it wasn't me :D
Drilling holes in them and filling them with this special foam from a canister (Don't how it's called, here it's called 'PUR' foam) was the most popular method.
The stuff I had was just so powerfull, I remember using just a teaspoon (few grams) to send the sign into the trees.
Best thing I liked to do with it was go into town with the stuff, and show it off to all the other kiddies with there large firecrackers :D
I almost got myself killed once. I was walking around a deserted factory with a friend of mine, and found a piece of concrete in which our device just fitted perfectly, so I stuffed it in, lit the fuse, but just as I sparked the lighter some wind lit the fuse very close to the explosive. I ran, and it detonated about a meter away from me. Apart from ringing ears large pieces of concrete got airborne at high velocity, if any of those hit me in the head I wouldn't have been here typing this.
The most disturbing is how easy this stuff is to make. I'm not going to post the details here, but you can find them anywhere on the internet. I already gave a few hints. all ingredients can be obtained OTC (over-the-counter) without questions asked.
Just that a 15 year old can do it, says enough.

Probably more likely to blow your own fingers off, if you are lucky. Some of the explosives mentioned are somewhat unstable.

I still have all my 10 fingers.
A guy who lived in the same town as me recently had an accident.
He was stuffing some sensitive stuff into a metal tube (flash powder to be precise). It exploded, riddling him with schrapnel and blowing off a few fingers. He had metal pieces in his head, in his stomach, everywhere. He luckily recovered fully apart from the missing fingers. Even though I don't know him, I feel very sorry for that dude. Some people might say 'Own fault, will teach him a lesson' those people need to shut the fuck up.

In the 80s we used to make penny bombs. get tuppence and wrap as many paper backed caps around them as possible, remember those rolls of paper that you used to put in toy guns with a roll of red paper? Then we used to throw them at people. Didn't half go bang!

Try making "silver fulminate" it's dead easy. Get a silver dollar and cover it with concentrated nitric acid mixed with 90° alcohol. Scrape off the debris that floats to the surface and there you are. One word of warning, you only have to look at the stuff for it to go off. A couple of milligrams will bring your whole house down. Carry it about spread out on a sheet of paper; in a heap its own weight can cause it to explode. Have fun.

As grim as it is and im sorry to hear that happend to him but isn't it a little arrogant to say "Shut the fuck up" to people who are 100% right when they say that, at least on thier stance.
What was he doing with the material in the first place?
Albiet, people understand the risks they take when they delve into this stuff, so when it happens, you do indeed learn your lesson, for me its usually.. be more careful next time. xP

Yes I know that. Might give a loud bang but are not powerfull at all. They are not high explosives, but rely on the principle of the container bursting.

I know about silver fulminate, made it once. It's super sensitive when dry, and totally unsensitive when wet. I used to put some on door handles etc, and it would give a little bang as soon as someone touched it. And a few milligrams or even several grams will not blow up your house lol. Explosives loose their power very quickly when not directly attached to something. And it's a relatively weak explosive.

Possession of this material leaves you liable to prosecution under the draconian anti-freedom laws.

It might have been slightly exaggerated, but it's not right to say that. A child of that age (he is 14) does not always have the insight into what they are doing. He just thought it was a cool idea and had no idea of what he was doing or what the properties of the material he was using are. I think it's just a very crude thing to say... imagine what it would be like, if you get injured like that and someone tells you it was all your own fault and bla bla bla. Now THAT is arrogant.
What he was doing with it, well he emptied out hundreds of illegal firecrackers that have flashpowder in it (which is much more friction sensitive than normal black powder). Put it in a metal tube, and started pressing it with another metal object. not very clever, in fact very stupid. But can you expect a 14yo to know that?

and the flaw in that is, do you expect all 14 year olds to be playing with explosive materials.

No, I don't. In fact I would discourage anyone who would want to do it without properly researching it first. (Which I did, my 10 fingers are proof of that, just hate it when people say 'you were just lucky'.)
He obviously didn't, but the flaw in your statement is that I don't have to expect them to do it for them to do it:)
Children can be ignorant, and you can't blame them for that.

You sound like the guy who said if you make Sarin you can safely handle it with your bare hands.
Look the stuff up on Google, the rest of the world seems to have a different opinion to you.

Ehm... No.
Sarin kills you just by being exposed to it. Explosives first need to detonate for them to kill you :)

Not really, I know plenty of people from forums and RL who were/are doing it as well, and 99% of them still have all their body parts attached.
