I'm really addicted to junk food, I think it's one of those things where I eat cause of stress... any tips on how to get rid of it? I really wanna start eating healthier again but it's hard when a part of me is screaming "I WANT ICE CREAM i WANT ICE CREAM after a long shift at work or issues with family blah blah... so like I said some tips would be very nice right about now ^^.

Start by not buying it, then when you get the urges eat fruit instead. It may take more of it to fill / satisfy but I feel its because your body handles and digests it better, which is clearly a good sign.

I can completely sympathise, I have had the same problem, I think I have a sugar addiction. If I don't have it for a while I don't crave it, I went cold turkey a while back and I completely cut any sugar out of my diet in a bit of a low carb type thing.

I like food, so this works well, I can still have loads of veggies, eggs, nuts, cheese, a coffee with some cream in, so I find this very satisfying. I cannot feel full and content eating a low fat diet, it makes me irritable, faint and I feel like shouting at people :o

As long as you eat yr greens I think the low carb option is perfectly fine.

Sorry sensitivesoul but there's only your will power to say no when the cravings come on you. :o

Most of us having a sweet tooth is the junk food industries greatest asset.

At least you didn't say it was macdonalds. :D

like someone said, don't buy it. The key will be not to have it in the house. So when you crave something, it won't be there to eat. Make sure instead that you have something else to eat. Fruits are a great alternative. There are a ton of fruits that all have it's own delicious taste, find some and buy some.

You don't have to go cold turkey, it will be a process. I'm now eating fruit constantly now because it tastes good and it makes me fell great. Another thing to think about, TPTB want you to eat crap to make your body sick.....don't let them have the satisfaction!

I recommend the following as step 1
make your own ice cream
enjoy it!

Still, even if you make the effort to eat healthier, learn to read labels and do the math. :)

I will have to practise at the willpower, I tend to have no back bone lol. Plus it isn't my house so my parents always buy junk food. I know that I don't have to eat it just cause it's there but a big part of me iis craving it so it's hard to say no.. especially to dill pickle chips and ice cream (though I've switched to frozen yogert)... I've been thinking of talking to my doc about a nutritionalist, what do you think? I really wanna start getting my act together but these cravings are just so hard to deal with... Ewwww Macdonalds is gross... tho I do lke their Mcflurry's that's all I like from there:p.

Boy, can I relate to that. I moved back in with my folks two years ago and I forgot how much cookies and ice cream and puddings they kept in the house. I admit I eat more junk now than in the past 20 or so years. I started by simply avoiding the junk aisles in the stores. Of course, it's different when it's in the house. Avoiding those aisles in the store became easy and not having it in my house was the answer.

I don't eat as much junk as my folks do but I have been eating more of it since moving back in with them because it's there. You're right, will power is the way. Easier said than done. But my will power is increasing even with the stuff in the house. It's just a greater focus I must endeavor to. You can do it. I know if I can aspire and am seeing it come true then so can you!!

Eat psilocybin mushrooms and ask for guidance for your issues and problems.

Research it if you don't believe the powerful mind, body and soul healing effects of mushrooms in general, especially psychoactive ones.

Resort to sweet fruits,

try banana.

Slice it, put it in a yoghurt and add cornflakes. Also try Stevia sweeteners, they're no substitute for sugar but can help you aquire the sweetness that you need in your diet.

That is an interesting answer to this lady's dilema!

Sup dude,
this junk food addiction could be different things from what I have heard.
One, it could be that your body is asking for nutrients and the food you are eating is lacking real nutrients. What I mean by lacking real nutrients is that
alot of food loses its nutrient content after some time, adding preservatives just keeps the food from going bad the natural way, so you end up eating the food by the time is just empty in its real nutrients sort of thing. For this just look for organic, non-preservatives food which goes bad faster but is rich in its real nutrients.
Two, could be that you are not getting enough sleep and your body is just asking for energy (carbs).
Three, there's something about junk/fast foods that just keeps you wanting more for some reason, try your best to stay away from it for a period of time. The more you have it, the more you will crave it.
I know it isnt easy but its all up to you.
