Looking at the ingredients of Toms of Maine 'Natural' toothpaste I seen Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is an ingredient. Fuck can't any products be safe for us? I can't find ANY toothpaste that doesn't contain poison.

Any suggestions where I could find some healthy toothpaste anywhere in the world im willing to spend extra on healthy products. I don't like not washing my teeth but I can't get myself to use the toms of maine stuff anymore because of the poison in it.

Use an organic, unperfumed soap to brush your teeth with. Tastes a little, ummm, well, 'soapy' :o but it works REALLY well :)

I use Aloe Dent fluoride free which seems to have lots of natural ingredients, although I haven't read the label for a while so not sure what else is in it tbh...

I use the WalaVita holistic toothpaste with no fluoride, no sugar, no SLS, no alcohol or menthol/peppermint and I'm quite happy with it.
And now I see gilly suggests peppermint :D Hm I don't know why on my toothpaste it's writen that it has none in it. Didn't know peppermint is bad.

Do people even feel that they need to use toothpaste? Was there toothpaste 200 years ago when people's teeth where much better then those of today?
I stopped using toothpaste a while ago. It's useless and a waste of money. Even dentists will admit that it's brushing that's the most important thing. I've been oil pulling and using the good old tooth brush to brush. My teeth and gums have never been better. And my gums were horrible before using all the dentist recommended crap.

Toms of Maine are also owned by colgate-palmolive funny how all these alternative businesses have been bought by large global corporate companies, ie body shop, l'oreal , greens and black, by cadbury schweppes etc.

Same, except I use baking soda once a week. Rinse with it as well.
